LG OEM Case with window - G2 Accessories

So I am curious if the OEM LG case with the window which will allow you to see the clock and change clocks will do some of the S-View type stuff like answer/reject calls, etc?
***Edit***
Well a quick search on my own yields this answer from Android Central http://www.androidcentral.com/lg-gives-another-sneak-peek-g2-and-its-quickwindow-case
Never mind that we've got a little more than a week to go before the LG G2 is unveiled in New York City — the Korea manufacturer is letting loose let another teaser.
What you see here is what appears to be a flip case with a transparent window — yes, just like what Samsung's got on a couple of its models — that'll add a bit of functionality to the G2. In fact, it's got a good half-dozen features packed in there. Through the window you'll be able to see a clock, the current weather, an alarm clock, music player, incoming call details and text messages.
And, as you see, it'll be available seven colors.
LG is set to launch the G2 on Aug. 7 — if it can wait that long.

If you want mine, you can have it for 35 shipped. I have the white color, received it today. Fits all except verizon I believe.

Have you been on other Android devices?

I was wondering - what would the perfect mash up of ROM features be, if I combined the stock ROMs from the manufacturers of Android devices I have owned?
I liked the Sense launcher and the widgets on HTC Wildfire S, which was my first Android device. Also the alarm clock. It was nice to look at.
The HTC broke up contact numbers in pairs of two, as they should be in Denmark, with 8 digits in phone numbers. The extended reboot menu, with shutdown, reboot and fast boot was a nice feature.
I miss the reboot option natively on the Z.
On i9100 I *hated* TouchWiz and the colors! Also, the lack of notification LED was a huge problem for me.
The lack of to disable the preview of incoming texts, so they would light up screen and scroll through the notification bar, had me starting using Handcent SMS.
Now I use Handcent, because it also can customize notification colors in the status bar, and notification LED color.
They i9100 on 4.0.0 firmware broke up contact numbers in pairs of two, that was good, but it could not disable the preview of incoming texts, that was bad.
Later firmware updates gave the ability to disable text preview, but broke up contacts in sets of 3-3-2, making the number difficult to read.
Call quality was lousy because of the forced noice cancelling and the weak antenna.
All in all the i9100, being a high end device, had some serious flaws when I come to think about it.
I liked the extended sound control panel in the i9100, and I miss it on the Z.
From CM I miss fast toggles to toggle 2/3/4G.
I would love the stock ROM on the Z to have customizable notification LED in the message app, and privacy box like Handcent SMS.
Aqua Mail beats stock mail app by a mile.
Z have a very stable software and a low amount of wake locks. I really like that. However, the screen really drinks all the battery no time - or so it feels like.
Do you have similar thoughts to share?

Clock Face Idea

I'd like a clock Face that combines the digital time, current temperature and the days events.
What clock are you looking for?
If you check out Canvas for Pebble, you can do this and more. I've sent an email to the developer to suggest getting it developed on this platform, but haven't received a response yet.
I want a watchface for my workdays that has on one single screen:
time & date
temperature & weather
next appointment (I was able to get next 2 appointments (start time and short description) on Canvas
audio mute/sound state
connected WiFI SSID
phone signal level
phone battery level
watch battery level
There's an abundance of fun "toy" watchfaces that exist for this platform, but even on the old gear I didn't see anything that came close to this level of info you could see on one default watchscreen.

Xfinity Galaxy S8

There is no Xfinity Mobile thread, but I love this phone. So since they are an MNVO of Verizon, I thought I'd post some of the great things about it here. I'll also share some of my favorite apps to go along with it. (This should fall under the "Answers" part of this sub-forum, but if not feel free to move this post wherever is best .)
*I am not rooted, and I have not taken the software updates yet. So I am still on Android 8.
-Great battery life (I posted already about my 8 hours of SOT).
-I remapped my bixby button to make it a dedicated walkie-talkie button (I use button mapper app and zello app for this)
-I love the USB-C HDMI out (I bought a splitter cable that let's me send video to my tv and charge the phone at the same time)
-I got a thin glossy black TPU case that is almost the same black color as the phone, so it looks like it came with it (key is "glossy")
-The hidden under-screen home button is fantastic and probably my favorite feature!
-At only 2.68 inches wide it's the most narrow Galaxy phone since the S5 mini, making it great for 1-handed use
-64gb internal plus a 64gb sd card gives me plenty of storage
-I missed the IR sensor they put in older galaxies, but found out that the little 3.5 headphone jack IR sensor they sell works great with this phone due to it's headphone volume mixer/booster
-I can connect my dvd player and usb easycap due to the OTG and watch old dvd's right on my phone screen
-I love anything free which is why I typically only use wifi to keep my bill at almost $0 (since you get unlimited talk and text for free).
-I also love free over the air FM radio with the next radio app
-And the free Co-pilot GPS app where I can use data-free navigation (after downloading the US map)
-I use custom navigation bar to add 2 more navbar buttons
-And substratum lets me add the date to the status bar, and center the clock
-Lastly, I use the "weathernow" app because I love the old HTC homescreen weather animations
If you have questions about this device, or have other add-ons or highlights that you appreciate, post them here.
PS If the S10e had curved edges and was 2.68 wide or less, then I would have definitely upgraded to it. But since it didn't, I'm holding out for a relaunched Galaxy fold, or an S11 mini!

We got a thread in the main s8 sections. ???
What you need to know about xfinity? Mines rooted and tweaked to the max.
I only see threads for the big 4 carriers. Can you link the Xfinity thread that you mentioned?

LG V40: all my favorite LG specific functionality is gone

Coming from an LG G4. I see I can no longer alter app icons on the home screens. Quick Remote is of course gone. I can't assign a different background image for individual Smart Message conversations anymore. Nor can I select different speech bubble types. The themed LG keyboard skins are no longer an option. The widgets no longer stretch to the extreme edges of the screen. Smart Notice is gone.
It feels like I just paid $600 to give up all my favorite software for slightly better hardware.
You know, minus the whole boot loop issue.
Yeah. Unfortunately these manufactures subscribe to the philosophy if it ain't broke, dump it. I hope what ever year we get Pie that LG doesn't do what Samsung did and take away video pro mode with the upgrade.

S10 Clock Screensaver

Hi,
I currently have a Pixel but am considering getting an S10. One of the features I love on the Pixel is the clock app’s screensaver-it means I can prop my phone up by the side of my bed and have a dim display showing just the clock. Does the S10 have anything similar please? Thanks!
I have an non-rooted S10e (SM-G970U). The screensaver settings unfortunately do not offer a clock option - only photos or colors. It's too bad Samsung doesn't have this option. I used it as you described on other phones and loved it. Now I use AOD as a substitute but , of course, it's "Always On" - not just at night when charging.
You setup the always on display to only trigger at night, it'll do the job pretty well if you're looking for a nightstand option. The always on display comes with various clock faces so I'm sure it won't be very difficult to find the right fit. If you can't from the stock ones you could always download good lock for extra clockfaces
Or you could just download any clock style screensaver which will do exactly what you're looking for. Display a clock when the phone is on charge and you let the screen go off on it's own. It's been in Android phones for years. S10 comes with a few built in screensavers.
AOD is the best option though. Minimal battery use.
