On both wi-fi & 3G, my One either times out while downloading from play store, or takes FOREVER when searching for on google, youtube etc. It seems like a data issue, as even the stock browser takes years to open a page. Anyone else have this issue?
I have this issue too except WiFi is fine, random slow data or drops data completely. Also my cell radio will completely drop at random times as well as the data drops and it only occurs on a GE ROM, stock 4.2.2 or 4.3.
On a sense ROM I don't get data/radio drops. I have an actual Playstore GE One and I took the 4.3 update, still the same problem. Its not my service in my area because my Nexus 4 is rock solid.
Anyone have any solutions?

Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't think it's Fast Dormancy. Why? Because the issue is present on both wi-fi and mobile data connection. It seems to stop receiving data for a period, than starts up again all of a sudden. I've seen a 40mb download take 20 mins on a wireless connection - on my Galaxy S ii it takes approximately 1-2 minutes.
What ROM are you using? Rooted, unlocked, updated radio? I am testing some build.prop additions from ARHD12.3. My problem seems to be gone over the last 24 hrs on GE 4.3 when previously I could only get good connection on sense based Roms. I added most all of the ro.ril.xxxx. lines into my build.prop. Might be worth a shot if your rooted and unlocked.

Rooted stock ROM, 4.2.2. Haven't changed anything apart from rooting - is there a .zip I can flash from recovery to try out your fix? I'll restore form a nandroid in case things go wrong.
What firmware are you on? I need to get the build.prop from the stock ROM your running. The easiest way for you to test is to make a backup of your current ROM and then do a wipe full data wipe (not SD card wipe) and install ARHD 12.3 and see if that fixes your problem. ARHD is a stock 4.2.2 sense ROM with under the hood enhancements. Give it a try. If that doesn't work, the build.prop additions I made won't help either.

There seems to be a major issue with the 4.06 radio and my phone - every time I have tried to flash it (from both validated .img's and update.zips) my phone becomes extremely unstable afterwards.
It goes into booting loops, hangs at the X, when I get it to boot it crashes while using heavy 3G or WiFi data, reboots when plugged into USB and receiving a call and it becomes almost impossible to get into recovery mode etc, etc.
The only way to get back to a working phone is to revert to stock 4.04. I have tried 5 different times over the last 2 weeks now with the same results every time.
I am starting to wonder if it is a AT&T/Rogers N1 issue or something specific to my device. If it was my device I would think that flashing back to 4.04 would also cause problems but that is not the case. This makes me believe there is there maybe an incompatibility with the leaked Froyo radio.
Appreciate any thoughts/comments.
I'm not having that problem. I flashed Modaco's first FroYo repack with root and the new radio, and things have been fine. To be honest, the only thing I've noticed is that Bluetooth seems to sync a lot faster to the head unit in my car.
Did you do a complete wipe before you installed the update and what applications have you added that may not like the radio?
Edit to add: By the way, you guys have a kick-ass little HTC Magic up there. It may not be a Nexus One, but it more than holds it's own running cyanogen. I have an import that my wife is playing with. I really like it.
Have you tried the 4.6.00.12_7 radio as well ast the 4.6.00.2_2? The 12_7 is working flawlessly for me both on Froyo and on CM 5.0.8-derived ROMs.
I just verified my version - it's definitely the 4.6.00.12_7 Froyo radio firmware.

I tried the 12_7 last night and after flashing it using fastboot, my phone got stuck in a reboot loop. I could get back into fastboot and saw the new radio version on the screen but could not for the life of me get my phone to boot into either the rom or recovery mode - I pulled the battery, took out the SD card etc but nothing worked. This prevented me from flashing a ROM and I could not get into Recovery. After about an hour of trying, I managed to get the 4.04 radio flashed using fastboot and then my phone booted with no problems.
Previously, I tried the various Froyo builds and with no additional apps installed I would still get random roboots when using data via either 3G or WiFi - usually when I try to do something big like downloading/syncing a large file.
This is the story every time I try a 4.06 radio. 4.04 is rock solid.
Have you tried flashing the 4.6 radio via an update.zip as opposed to through fastboot? It's about the only other idea I can think of lol...
Just checked, I flashed the 2_2 last night, not 2_7.
I have flashed the radio via update.zip before and my phone worked but would be unstable. I will have to double check which version I used, could have been 2_2 as well.
codesplice said:
Come to think of it, that's the radio version I'm currently using, and that's where I got mine while I was running his ROM. So yes, flash that zip, flash Kangorama, and you should be square.

This is the same radio image I flashed two days ago and it worked for me quite well for an entire day (light 3G use) and then started crashing the phone when I tried downloading larger files (using the Audible app) via both WiFi and 3G in the evening. Once it started crashing I could not get into recovery until after I pulled my SD card. Once it booted OK without the SD card I put the card back and it booted ok again. It would still crash on heavy data use though.
Maybe try the 12_7 radio from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=692609 ? I'm fairly certain that is the same radio update that I have applied on my AT&T N1.
edit: disregard....

Did you try not running/removing the audible app and see about stability then? What else are you using? Not every app is going to play nice with newer firmware.

The crashes started just after I got the Rom installed.
I did the following:
- Nandriod backup (thank goodness for this!)
- I wiped all as per instructions
- Installed radio, rebooted OK
- Installed ROM (Rodriguesstyle 1.6)
- Booted OK into setup
- Configured my phone - first crash just after entering my gmail ID and the syncing of all the apps from the market started
- Rebooted, configured my phone again - apps installed this time but while configuring ChompSMS the phone rebooted again
- Rebooted, phone came up clean, ran OK all day
- Got home and tried syncing Audible content - phone crashed
- Could not get into recovery or boot the phone normally for almost an hour (pulling battery etc did not help)
- Pulled the SD Card and the phone booted, shut down, put the sd card in again, phone booted OK
- Got a phonecall, phone rebooted
- Got fed up and restored 4.04 radio and stock ROM
- Phone stable since
I was running the following apps:
- Autokiller
- Doubletwist Player
- Audible beta
- Silent Sleep
- ChompSMS 4.2
- Switchpro Widget
- Barcode Scanner
- ADW Launcher
- newsRob
- File manager
- Backgrounds
- Rom Manager

What kernel is the Rodrigessstyle ROM using?
Try Modaco's straight up Froyo repack - it has a stock kernel. I'd get as close to stock Froyo ROM/Radio as possible, see what I have and then go from there.
Also, make sure you're using an updated version of chompsms. I think I heard that reports were that it was not compatible with Froyo, but that it's been updated.

I used the stock kernel. ChompSMS 4.1 and later is compatible and I was using 4.2. I am planning on trying the new Kang-o-rama 0.8b1! (CM-5.0.8+2.6.34 Kernel) rather than Froyo - if only I can get the radio to flash.

Why not start with FroYo - the ROM the radio was meant to work with - before flashing anything else? If it doesn't run then, you have a real problem. otherwise, you have no idea where the problem is.

Point taken. Back to the basics.
I came straight from Rodriguesstyle 1.6 with the included add-on OV/UV kernel to Kang 0.8b1 without any issues. Even got the 720p hack working beautifully
well i am using the new froyo radio with my ATT nexus one, and its been no different than the old radio. no crashes or anything. however, i had NO idea that there were 2 froyo radios. is that what someone just posted on the first page?
I have had a simmilar experienc, but it is NOT froyo related.
I was rooted, on the desire ROM
It was restarting at seemingly random (and frequent) times through the day -
I reflashed to stock 2.1.
During setup, phone rebooted.
Got through sign-in. Installed some apps. Phone rebooted.
Phone was absolutely fine, as long as I didn't touch it. I would use it - browse, etc. Seemed to be fine. Would then reboot. FLashed it up to froyo. Same.
I think it's the bad RAM issue i've seen reports of, but I'm not sure. Sent in for a replacement.
Let's hope that's not OPs issue, though the problem seems to be pointed in that kind of direction. Hope you get your situation resolved under warranty.

Heh, never thought I'd be posting here but I want some ideas before I unroot and bring my phone in :/
For the last I'd say month and a half or so my gps hasn't been working properly. If I'm running an aosp rom (AOSP, CM, my own compiled roms, etc) gps will not get a fix.
I've tried using both the GPS Status app and GPSTest app to reset the 'aiding data/agps data' to no avail.
I've ran the RUU, re-rooted and done a fresh wipe/flash of a rom that I know had working gps for me in the past (an aosp rom again), still nothing.
Just recently today I wiped my userdata, cache, and system partitions via fastboot. Then proceeded to do a clean flash of the Mau5 CM6 rom. - repeated this process for AOSP's, and CM 6.1. All of which had the same results, no gps fix.
As I said for some reason it only seems to be a problem on aosp rather than senseUI. If I flash the stock sprint rom or any of nfx's sense roms for that matter I get a gps fix within a minute. Same goes for the stock RUU.
So my question is this: what other ideas do you guys have for me?? I'm fresh out
Edit: yes i've updated my prl and profile plenty of times, it doesn't help.

alright, you may get pissed but here it is. Turn on navi on your phone, leave it alone for a while (obviously don't do this whilst in a nuclear fallout shelter)
I have had to WAIT (the first time) for gps every time I flash a rom (or a kernel) that's aosp base, usually pick up a signal somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes, then every time I use gps after that it's fine. There was even a guy's post way back in the early november area of deca's kernel thread that said he got a lock around the 30 minute mark on a CFS using gps status.
hope you can get a lock If you already did the gps status fix reset download and waited, then disregard, otherwise try waiting a while, it might work, it did for me. Good luck bro.

I've done the reset, download and waited upwards of 30+ minutes before (I usually have it connected with the wake-lock on so the screen doesn't time out) I've gotten a signal doing that once or twice, but as soon as i close the app using gps, be it either one of the two gps fix apps or google maps, and open it back up, I have no signal again.
Same thing happens if after I wait however long until I get a fix and then later I reset the phone, I don't get gps signal after the boot.
Thanks for the ideas though
Edit: I also want to add I've done the suggested steps from the earlier roms where you boot up a sense rom, get a gps fix, then flash an aosp rom. And I've also tried a few of Deca's kernels. Same deal
Just wanted to add I ran the RUU again and did a nandroid restore of a Darchdroid 2.8 rom that I know had working gps. Same problem.
Sooo.. After finals this week I'm just going to bring it in and see what my options are.

Hi guys. So i'm about 2 weeks old with android. Just rooted and flashed 4.3 GPE to my HTC One on Rogers. I have noticed that my signal bars have been quite lower (1bar) in places where I normally get 3. I'm wondering if the GPE has a more accurate reading or if it somehow affected the radios? I didn't flash the radios what were available in the thread. I'm worried I might mess something up. Is there any way to tell if everything is ok or if anyone else has experienced this?
thank you so much in advanced for your help and understanding.
Also.. Side question. Once the Rom is flashed and installed, can I delete it from it's folder on my phone? Does it need to stay there in order to run?
I'm not running 4.3 so I can't really answer your first question as far as signal but I'm running the 4.3 firmware and radio on 4.2.2 and it works well. As far as deleting the rom from your phone: you may delete it with no ill effects BUT if you're new to flashing and you make a mistake with flashing a modification or something having that rom on your phone can make fixing something as easy as dirty flashing the rom again. Dirty flashing means flashing without first erasing everything. I would leave it just in case. If you do delete it though there are always ways of putting it back so it's not going to break anything it just might make you read a little too fix anything you might break... Welcome to Android!

I just bought a HTC One last week and went through the process to convert it to a fully stock Google Edition before even using the phone. Everything went without a hitch.
Coming from a Nexus 4 (And Note II prior to that), I've noticed my Wifi and Data signals to be very weak compared to my previous devices.
For example, in my bathroom I get no Wifi Signal but my previous devices had no problems getting one here. I noticed at work the same thing - no Wifi in places I used to get it. It stays connected in both examples, but is just super super slow and shows little to no signal.
Within good range it works fine.
I have a Bell Mobility HTC One 32GB (Canada), I unlocked bootloader, S-OFF'd, Changed CID to the Google One and flashed the Google Edition RUU (Pre-rooted) Everything seems to work fine except the Wifi/Data signals are weaker than previous devices. I already received a 15MB update from Google that updated fine too.
Is Wifi/Data signals generally weak on this phone? Any suggestions?

What radio are you using?
You could experiment with different radios which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419699
Newest may not always be the best, so try different ones. Also, I think the Radio_4T.20.3218.03 (leak) is strictly ATT and doesn't have the international stuff.

Is Radio the baseband version? It says "4A.18.3263.15_10.38h.1157.04L"
Its whatever comes in the RUU for Stock 4.3 Google Edition rom
I've never really had to play with Radio's much in the past.
I assume I would need to flash a Custom Recovery again to flash the radio, then flash back to stock so I can continue to get updates. Probably should do this anyway so I can make a backup of my phone while I'm at it.

Yes it's the baseband.
And yes also for the custom recovery. You can only flash these radios using custom recovery. Don't know if it's worth the hassle for you though?

It's easy enough to do as long as I can find the Latest Stock recovery to flash back on the phone.
The signal is noticeably weak in a lot of spots it wasn't an issue with before, so I'm willing to try.
Anyone else with a North American based phone that did this conversion experience these issues?

I have a similar problem with my stock rogers phone. I think it started after the 4.3 ota update. My wifi connectivity constantly keeps turning off and on lasting only a minute or two. Watching videos has become too much of a hassle. i've seen other recent threads with the same issue regarding wifi connectivity. We need this problem fixed asap!
Has changing the radio fixed your wifi issues?
same here I the conversion to GPE nonroot and not unlocked but s-off. My wifi and data signals are horrible in places that were fine when I was running 4.3/htc sense5. My base band is 4A.18.3262.15_10.38h.1157.04L. Hope this gets fixed with 4.4.
am thinking about radio flash but to what? I have never done the procedure and sounds like a hassle...I would have to unlock and install custom recovery like twrp, dont have to root correct? Install the radio (also install new firmware?) then I would have to reflash the stock recovery? and relock phone to get OTA?
Hey there!
I have a strang problem with my Note, that being that I loose any signal utterly and completely after using the mobile data to some extend. Context: I live in finland right now and here they have unlimited mobile data, so I'm streaming netflix and stuff like that via my mobile connection.
After using roughly 600MB, my radio seems to completely shutdown. This can only be fixed by rebooting the device, I tried many different apps that have to do something with the device's radio, but to no use.
I'm using the latest radio modem software from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645202 (for jelly bean) and I also tried downgrading my radio (tried 4 older versions), but that only seemed to make the connection slower, but ultimately not fixing my problem.
I'm using the latest stable cyanogen mod (cm-10.1.3-n7000.zip from https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=n7000).
A friend of mine also has the same mobile data thingy, and he streamed and downloaded roughly 100GB in the last 6 weeks without any outages, so it's definitely my device, not the mobile carrier.
Has anyone any ideas on how to fix this?
If I forgot any important details or did something wrong, please let me know, this is my first time posting here!

Well, try a more recent copy of cyanogenmod. 10.1.3 is over a year old.
You might also want to try a different baseband

Okay thanks, I will try using the latest nightly build. What's a baseband in this case? Google can't help, so I must be googling wrong. I tried many different radio versions, but that's not what you mean I guess?
edit: Ah, yeah we mean the same things. I already said I tried using older radios, but no use. Every link i find for the newer XXLT5 is down, so I can't try that one.
LT4 is recent enough. Its what i use. If you really need LT5 or bolt, make a backup of your rom, flash a stock rom that includes it with odin and restore the backup.

I just now found an LT4 zip file, so I'll try that. Now that I upgraded to the newest nightly build (there's a new version everyday ) I only loose the connection for some seconds. Maybe LT4 will fix that.
edit: Okay false alarm, I only find complete ROMs with LT4 integrated. Isn't there a standalone .zip file? I can't flash new ROMs every 12 hours, I already lost all my photos because the SD card was formatted by accident
edit2: okay, when I loose connection, it is automatically reestablished in the next 10 seconds, so for streaming or downloading (most) stuff, that works okay. Still, is there a way to get rid of this? My friend is downloading with 3 MB/s all the time via mobile data, and I'm sitting here stuck with 500 kbit/s and connection losses every ~45 minutes
