[Q] Building CM7.2 - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! I'm trying to build CM7.2 for myself, ut when I run extract-files.sh, several 'remote object does not exist' errors appear. The files include libdiag.so, wlan_mac, gps.msm7k.so. None of these are included in the stable 7.2 build. How should I proceed? The build fails without these files. Thanks!

How to Kang/Combine Jelly Bean sources.

I know how to build CM10 and AOKP JB on my computers (using OS X), but does anyone know how I can make my own custom rom combining different cherry picks from the two sources?
I don't know exactly how, but go to gerrit and see what mods that haven't been merged and use terminal to enter the cherry pick code at the bottom of the page. I can help you more tomorrow if you would like!

Alright cool, I'll see what I can do tonight. Thanks!
I can't build AOKP for some reason. I did everything correctly, but when I try to build I get:
** Don't have a product spec for: 'aokp_captivatemtd'
** Do you have the right repo manifest?
I get the same problem with AOKP but not CM10 :/

You don't have the captivatemtd in your vendor directory or it not in the platform manifest. I had the same problem with aokp. Look at cyanogenmods jellybean source.

Alright thanks, I'll check it out.
Alright, so I noticed AOKP listed the Captivate officially. Should I be able to build it now without the above problems, or do I still need captivatemtd in my vendor/manifest? Also, if I want to KANG can someone give me some direction?

mardon's patchs just have the gps.conf file mod, and some certificates, you need the gps.cooper.lib file from RC 1
Download rc1 extract the gps.cooper.lib file from System > libs> hw (i think).
copy that file into the same path on RC2, make shure you delete the "gps.gio.lib" that is there. change permitions.
reboot.

CM 10 stable out.. but symlinks failed :(

Once make sure that the zip is fully downloaded, if possible check md5 checksum of the zip

Check this:

Install another Recovery. It should be version 5.x.x.x. and if you use touch currently, try to use non touch version.

I was trying to modify the stock 244 rom using kitchen.I built the zip successfully but when flashing i always get a status 0 error.I know that the error is because of the updater script but i dont know how to modify it for my xperia z.I am new to this so someone please help me to successfully build the rom.
anyone willing to help?
Download a Rom and have a look at their updater script. Then modify yours as required.

I tried that.It seems I have to add c6602 support in kitchen edify folder. Can you help me?I tried some links without success
Status 0 errors are usually caused by an incompatible update-binary.
Try replacing the update-binary in your zip with one from a zip you know works on your phone.

I don't mean the update-script, I mean the update-binary. All the script does is tell the recovery what files to replace.
Bricking your phone depends on what you're trying to change. Generally you can only do it by flashing a wrong kernel.

oh u mean i can use the update binary from the cm rom in my rom?
Yep. After you build with kitchen or whatever, simply substitute update binary from Meta Inf blah blah, from the Cm10 of your device to your own zip.
