can you use any case on the G2? - G2 Accessories

with the buttons on the back, is it even possible to protect the phone with Otterbox or something?

I see no problem with making a hole for the buttons. LG already made the QuickWindow case that will be available at start.

There will be a few choices for cases I'm assuming when this phone finally launches. If I end up getting the G2 I'll probably go with Spigen. I mentioned this case in the other accessory thread.

What about Verizon model vs the rest? Keys are much smaller (I'm gonna say shrinking the buttons was equally as lame as the front Verizon logo, hopefully cases will cover that up)
I haven't been able to find anything yet for this other than the Verizon store who said they could order one (Quick view window case) for $50+.

The VZW G2 is thicker than the others and does not work with all the other cases. You need a specific VZW G2 case. I purchased the Poetic case and it does not fit my VZW G2.

I wonder if non-hardshell cases will work... like TPU cases, which are my preference.
So many on eBay from China.
Why do I always get stuck with a phone that never gets any worthwhile accessories? First, the HTC Incredible which was launched and then immediately forgotten about. Then the Galaxy Nexus which suffered the same fate. Now the LG G2 on Verizon with its different dimensions. Makes me want to switch to AT&T before my 14-days is up.

does tmobile cases fit att ???

i just looked on incipio website and for the dual pro, the skus r exactly the same for the tmobile and att version, but when i called them the other day they said the feather shine for tmobile wouldnt fit on att (i have att model) i would love the feathershine but i don't wanna spend the money if its not going to fit properly .. is the att and tmobile version differnt from another? if so, whats different?
After a little searching I guess the phone is slightly bigger then the tmobile/sprint version. But read that TPU cases will fit snug on it. I also read somewhere that the ATT variant has a extra mic hole or something?

I'm pretty sure that International/TMO/Sprint/ATT share the same dimensions, except that ATT has a mic on the back for noise cancellation. It probably won't be a deal breaker.
I was jealous too because Tmobile suddenly got this whole selection of cases available nowhere else. Hella overpriced too.
I got the tech21 flip case and the LG clear view flip from T-Mobile for my ATT G2. They fit great.

So does the case cover the mic on the back of the phone near the camera?
Will T-Mobile fit Verizon...I know the button hole will be bigger, but will it fit? Just curious if anyone know.

If that's what that little dot between the lens and the flash is, then no, there is a cutout there. I'd take a picture but I already sold my old phone!

Case with a Built In Screen Protector?

Hi, I am getting the G2 for Sprint in about a week, and I was wondering if anyone has seen a case with a built in screen protector, and if so how they like it? If not, what's the best accessory you've seen?

The only two cases that I know of that have "built-in" screen protectors is either the Otterbox Defender or Ballistic SG MAXX. Both of these cases are for heavy duty protection and so they will add bulk. These are NOT slim cases.
my friend had a waterproof case for his iphone. Ill try to find the brand of that. Its not bulky too.

I was not able to find one of these that will fit the Verizon model. I like the looks of the case, at least the one that has the belt clip with it.

Otterbox Defender is available for all LG G2 variants including the Verizon model. Go onto Otterbox's website and you will see a separate link that redirects you to the Verizon variant page.
Both the SG Maxx and Otterbox come with belt clips. However, I think you can only get the SG and not the SG Maxx for the Verizon model.

Yes I have the Otter Box Defender for my G2. I am just not happy with the issues with the Defender Screen protector. I have removed the screen protector and put a new one over my screen.
On the Ballistic SG Maxx, the screen protection sucks.. The touchscreen is just UNUSABLE.
Is the Otter Box Defender have a Built-in screen protection, or is it a film to stick on the screen?

Can accessories from T-Mobile, ATT, etc be used on the Verizon (VS980) G2?

It seems like there is some different model numbers between the G2.. Are all accessories interchangeable between the different carriers G2? Or is the phone a slightly different shape because of the radio? I have been looking for a G2 battery for my Verizon G2
The vs980 has smaller back buttons so the shape is slightly different. You can use accessories from other models with it if you don't mind the extra space for the button holes. Don't use a Verizon version case for non Verizon models though

Ouch, thats what I figured.. I am finding it hard to find accessories online for it and don't want to pay Verizon 50 bucks for a jelly case. I still have yet to find a spare battery
All of the G2 models are the same size. No worries with cases. The only difference is there will be a little gap around the back buttons since the Verizon's are slimmer.
It doesn't look weird and you won't even notice it. If I hadn't said anything you probably wouldn't have even noticed it. But all the cases work for all the G2 variants. No worries.
I use the Incipio Feather Case that Verizon sells in store. They charge you out the wazoo $29 vs $18 on amazon, but it fits well and Incipio cases are really high quality cases. The plastic they use is top notch and the soft cotton texture is bliss to hold.
Unlike the cheaper ones with the brittle cheap plastic that snaps and breaks, or chips and peels. Been there done that.
Ok so what about batteries? I see with some things they say what carrier they are for.. the ONLY thing different is the size of the buttons? So in other words I should disregard all carrier specific batteries, cases, etc? I ask because I noticed another thread in this forum that mentioned "VZW being left out" Could you show me a picture of the gap you are talking about? My phone will be here tomorrow... super excited
The batteries are non user replaceable. So there are no batteries to buy.
As far as cases, they are all the same.
Just look up images of a Verizon G2 vs other models. Look how the Verizon back buttons are a tad narrower. Using a normal case on the Verizon, it will just show a little area around the buttons a little more.
Stop freaking out and order a damn case! Lol. No worries.

One more new case for LG G2, Slimmest case out there, almost no lip, rubbery coating.

I am a case hater(screen protectors too). I never had a case on any of my 50+ smartphones for the past 4 years. Every case I buy will have something that turns me off or disappoints me. After several days of use. I take it off and never put it on. It is clearly waste of money and no protection at all for the phone. Recently I cracked 2 of my phones(Note2 and G2). And decided that I will have a case. I got quick window which is ok but adds some bulk and not comfortable to use.(flip part gets in a way)
For the past several years 1 case got my attention. Ringke slim for iphone 5. http://www.amazon.com/Release-Premi...ie=UTF8&qid=1385245025&sr=1-1&keywords=ringke it was for my wife's iPhone5. (i am an iphone hater too ) it is the slimmest and most comfortable case I have ever used on any phone.(dont bring out your pitch forks and torches, it is my personal opinion)
Now that company started making cases for LG G2. http://www.amazon.com/RINGKE-PERFEC...UTF8&qid=1385245039&sr=1-1&keywords=ringke+g2
I just ordered mine and will wait to see how the quality and the comfort is.
I wanted to ask if anyone has used this case for G2 and how is the experience?
I hope somebody will benefit from this post.
Looks like that particular one only works the international variant.
I wonder how much protection it actually provides in a fall. Looks pretty sweet, though.
I had one for my g-nex and I loved it. It is very slim. It stinks they don't have a version for the Verizon g2 or I would get one.

Yeah I had case from Ringke for my Galaxy Nexus too...So I email Ringke...and they told me right now they have no interest on making a Verizon Variant for the G2 case...Sad.
Ah that sucks I would have really liked one for my g2. I remember with the g-nex enough people emailed them for a extended battery version and they actually made one. I guess that was a little different though. G-nex was a much bigger community though.

Yeah...If Verizon just kept the original model then it would been better. More choices for accessories..
I had a Ringke Slim on my Galaxy Nexus. Loved the slim profile BUT the plastic is cheap, on my GNex model, it started getting hairline cracks on all 4 corners. This was common. Ringke shipped out replacements but the replacements did the same thing.
Since them I moved on to CaseMate Barely There and the Incipio Feather.
Out of the CaseMate and Incipio, I found the Incipio to have the overall high quality award with it's super slim profile, nice soft matte feel, and super high durable plastic that is solid all the way though (not painted like Ringke).
I put an Incipio on my womans iPhone 4 and fell in love with it. Since then I've ordered me one for my old Galaxy Nexus and have a new one on my G2.
Thats my personally recommendation of all time favorite slim cases, and I've probably been there and tried them all.
Thanks for the recommendation. I will have to try one out!

I got the Poetic Palette case. It just like the Incipio Feather but I got it cause of the 3yr warranty and it cost less. Nice rubber-like feel to the back. People that see the phone think the case is the official back of the phone and love it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E5NP1KC/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Better reviews than what the OP posted, if anyone wanted something to compare to.
Poetics 3yr warranty is freaking awesome but I've found their cases on the cheap side. The good side is you just email them and they send you a new one.
I haven't tried the poetic palette. Looks good. Hopefully its isn't painted like most.

The Poetic Palette case seems pretty hard for a slim case. It feels just a few mm thinner then a credit card but really hard. Not that it bothers me, but the case is hard to take off once you get it off. You have to take one corner off first, then the rest; I like that. Makes me feel that a fall won't just make the case come right off. Oh and it has that low profile when face down that you can barely see the glass isn't resting on the surface. Also gives you just enough clearance that the camera lens and power button aren't touching the surface too. Over all just happy with it so far

The palette case is either the soft touch feel (which i personally hate) or the "quiksand" texture. I would recommend the sand one personally.

I want the Feather for my Sprint variant but all they "officially" have is the Feather Shine, which is too slippery for me. I see that they make a Feather for AT&T and Verizon. I'm assuming that I can't use the VZ, but can I buy the AT&T version for my phone.
By the way, +1 on the Ringke cheap plastic. I had the exact same case for my Gnex and while I liked it, I got the four corners cracking too.
Yea you CAN'T use the Verizon one because the Verizon one has smaller buttons. I can CONFIRM that my Verizon one, the button cut out is curved for the smaller buttons.
You CAN use the one for the AT&T version or other. I'd probably just pick them on from Amazon. All the G2's are exactly the same with the exception of the Verizon buttons. Verizon really screwed up changing those. I not only like the look of the standard buttons better but I also think it would be easier to use. Different topic though.

So I ordered the Feather AT&T version for my Sprint version and it's not a great fit. It's loose in there. I have the Feather Shine made for Sprint and it's a snug fit. The Feather is a bit wobbly. So, the search continues.....

Droid Turbo cases

Starting the thread as we find Droid turbo cases. Case-mate already has their site up.

Lol can't see the capacitive keys in the front-facting picture of the case. Wish it really looked like that
With the bulk of this phone and the kevlar back I'm hoping someone simply makes a bumper. Give the screen a slight raise from a fall as well as the camera.
Cheers to hoping!
I already found quite a few more yesterday. My thread is in the General section.

Yeah, I too am wondering how they are going to handle that. I fondled both the "MFG" and the ballistic nylon-backed phones briefly today and they didn't feel any different. I can't imagine four different Moto flipcase SKU's between the two phone sizes and the two case materials, but I might not be trying hard enough.
-e- I looked at some of the press photos and I now see the the cloth-backed phone's camera lens is definitely set further back in. Less than 1mm difference between the two, according to Moto's spec sheet. it doesn't seem like enough to justify how deep the camera appears in some of the photos.

I hate Vzw and Otterbox for bringing out the droid turbo case for day 1 (for a phone on a single carrier) and refusing to bring one out for the Nexus 6 (on all carriers). Sadly, this does make me more likely to get a droid turbo even though I think it's kinda ugly.

That's the advantage of real carrier support. Verizon is probably Otterbox's biggest customer so they have the leverage to get Otterbox to make a case for their beloved Droid series. Obviously, they're more interested in getting accessories for an exclusive before another device.

I've used several otterboxes in the past on various devices and I'm just bored of their styling now. A case is a case, but be a bit more innovative with the design in my opinion. I'm currently still digging the Spigen Neo Hybrid in blue I've got for my Note 3, might lean towards spigen again if they come out with something for the turbo. The lifeproof is okay, but the screen smears would bug me too much and I much prefer a glass screen protector so that's also out of the question then. Decisions....
I was actually surprised how many cases they had available. I went ahead and ordered a incipio dual pro case with the phone. It is nice having choices at launch.
Did anyone grab the Incipio DualPro case from Verizon? If so does it fit the Ballistic Nylon version and how is it?
Thanks

I bought the incipio dual pro with my Ballistic Nylon. Fits great, not to tight and not to loose. I have used multiple dual pros before but usally return because they atract lint like no other. It seems like they changed the composition of the soft rubber and it no longer atracts lint. Over all Iike it and its a good heavy duty case.
