Can someone help me I rooted my kindle fire hd 7 but I opened a super user app from the play store it said it had to update the su file so I hit normal update after that it failed so I went to titanium backup and it said that I didn't have root which really made me mad I can still use Google play store but is there anyway I can get root back

Have you tried re-rooting it?
That's the problem I was at a party when I rooted it so I don't have a computer now any way around not having a computer

If you have a factory cable, you can use fastboot to restore saved partition images, otherwise, it's very unlikely.
I will be at my friends house on Tuesday so I can do it there at least Google play store still works

When I go to the play store and go to my apps, slide to the right to look at my uninstalled apps it says "error retrieving information from server [RPC]". And when I search for an app that I have purchased it says the price as if I have never purchased it. And some apps such as Facebook gives me a message about "your order is being processed it will be available shortly." I'm using the same Google account I have always used. I'm on biohazard 2.9 v20p. I have flashed back to stock to see if it would fix the problem but it did not. I think I may have tried again after I rooted stock though. Is it a root problem maybe?
Samething happened to me what I did was uninstall play came back to android market then went to my apps try that

On my rooted fire, any apps that require permission to access my Google account get force closed. Have tried several red readers and chrome marks. The “permission required to access notification" shows up in the notification list, but there's no option to actually grant the access.
These apps worked fine on my original rooted fire running a modified stock rom.
I don't actually know if this problem existed pre-root. Step one was open box and boot. Step two was get root. Seemed reasonable at the time. *N00B logic*
Thanks for any suggestions. It's like system pop-ups are blocked or something.

I have the kindle fire hd 7 inch non rooted. Skype works perfectly while kindle is on. After maybe ten mins of having the screen off, when I receive a call it rings but when I unlock the device a little box in the middle says "skype force closed", or something like that, and you can either choose "wait" or "ok". Anyone else experiencing this? I was thinking of using the phone version instead of the kindle version to see if it is better.

try this
Try using the program "Skype Boot." You don't need to have the Play Store installed; use go to the 1Mobile website, download the installation APK, install, open, and search for the Skype Boot program--enables opening Skype at boot up. I'm not sure it will help you, and you'll have to reboot to try it. I'd uninstall your version of Skype, and select to download the one fresh from the Amazon App store labeled for Kindle Fire. When you uninstall, select to uninstall from the app settings menu--completely wipe the program. Force close, wipe data, then wipe cash, then uninstall. That's just what I'd do. Then re-install the app, selecting it from the app store.
Sign in to it. I have a microsoft account I sign in with. probably doesn't matter. after that, go and open the Skype boot app from 1Mobile ('cause you didn't have any issues installing that, right? SHOULDN'T). Select to load Skype at bootup. Navigate out of that app, and reboot, see if that helps.
I've things a bit different in my setup; I'm rooted, and I used titanium backup to convert Skype to a system app. It hasn't force closed since yesterday when I rebooted. Also, if I go to my settings menu and look at installed applications and select to view running applications, Skype is not listed as running, but it definitely is (showing Online status in the notifications pull-down).
Just FYI, there's no harm in rooting, it won't break anything--but installing the Play Store is a bit complicated. Most people, myself included are not remotely interested in installing a recovery or flashing a ROM; it's risky, and any ROM you might flash at this point will seriously decrease the KFHD functionality. At this point this thing Flies, especially in comparison to the original KF. Flash a ROM and you likely won't even be able to play video (hehe, you might brick it too, if you're lucky!). Don't hold your breath on getting a ROM that actually improves Amazon stock function. That kinda broke even with the original KF, and with HD I don't think the incentive is really there to move and shake, dev-wise.

my kindle fire HD after trying this ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43274610#post43274610 ) mod that surpolst to fix the black wallpaper issue has instead made my toolbar where it will show up for a few seconds then just go away, and it dosent even say my name anymore, it just says my kindle on the name. at one point my kindle was rooted, but in efforts to fix this problem i have un-rooted ( used unroot app on computer and restored factory defaults) im wondering what else i could do to possibly fix it, or since all the root is gone should i just get a hold of amazon?
any help would be appreciated, thanks!
I used to experience that too. Just do a factory reset and re-root...
Gmail notifications can cause this. Disable Gmail notifications, might fix it.
Sent by KFTT, in spite of everything.
factory restore on a kindle dosent un install root, and I've already tryed the gmail as I have seen that in another post, no diffrence at all
Restore kindle using kindle fire first aide and choose 7.2.3 option, it should restore kindle to bone stock, like when you first used it

Toolbars Gone? ...Download KindleFree From Google Store
You know it takes some time to root this thing. Before you start over...first download the app KindleFree (Free) by Stephen (Stericson) it's kinda hard to find. I downloaded from Google store, installed and set it up and rebooted. Afterwards, I got my toolbars back, but still can't get those live wallpapers to work!

I have a quick question for my fellow Verizon S6 Edge users.
I use the Amazon app quite a bit and when going in to actually use it for the first time today it didn't open. So, I went on the Google Play store to see if there was an update or something, and to my surprise I didn't see it in my list of installed apps?!?!? Went into my application manager and it's definitely installed. I went to uninstall it and reinstall and of course it was one of the preinstalled apps and can only be disabled... So, after disabling I go into the play store and search Amazon to find "Amazon Shopping" app and it was the only one there for the actual store. Now, is that a new app from Amazon??? The self titled "Amazon" app is no longer even on the app store, yet it sits installed on my phone but disabled.
Just wanted to know if the main Amazon app works for you guys, or if you now have to Amazon apps because the first no longer works. Trying to see if it's just me or not.
I've rebooted, but since it's a preinstalled app that's not working... I'm not sure what else I can do if it's something I'm doing wrong. Wiped data in the application manager, re-enabled all the amazon apps that were pre installed to see if that helped and nothing. Just think it's weird that it doesn't even show up when searching for it in the app store, just the "Amazon Shopping" app shows up.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Works fine for me, ive updated to current version and have purchased with it etc....

Hmm, weird. Well I went on APKMirror.com and got the latest Amazon apk and updated it that way and it worked, that app that is... it still didn't show up in my app store for updates and what not. Also, it seems that because I have android wear installed it's giving me the "Amazon Shopping" app. They both work the same but with one exception, the shopping version works with a smart watch with some sort of voice commands. Just didn't want both installed if they did the same thing, no need for wasted space.
Thanks!

I noticed when I opened Amazon for the first time on this phone it made me log in through the Amazon App Store, which was strange to me. After I logged in through the App Store, the regular Amazon App updated and then it worked.

The pre-installed Amazon app is the "complete" version which you can't get through Google Play store due to Google changing the rules last fall. See here http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/1...ay-store-because-of-its-appstore-integration/ But you can still get it directly from Amazon and still kept up to date by Amazon.
The only app in the Play store itself is shopping only, hence the name.
