SuperStamina-Xssm wakelock - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This wakelock had been with my sp for about a month, with everything turn off,
stamina mode on, less than 5 minutes of screen on time, mobile network(WCDMA/GSM),
the battery drains like hell, almost 2% per hour, i've done factory reset a few times but no use,
disable stamina mode make this wakelock goes away, but the battery still drain
have been asking all over the forums, no luck.
not sure if this is related to firmware customization or should i flash another rom from another region
any suggestions?

Simple fix is turn Off your stamina mode. Stamina doesn't work as it should... And battery is ok w/o stamina.

Very impressive....
I hate my SP so much
1 hour screen on, standby 1 day 0% left = s4 has 12 times better battery life.

Lol, my record on stock is 5 h on screen and left 30 % .

Build.prop
Hello guys,
With my phone I had the problem too, but almost not worth mentioning (70% after 1 day full use). I used build.prop editor to add some line in build.prop-file and now there's practically no drain at all -> After one day of full use (games, wifi etc, etc) still 75% left on battery

What did you edit please give details.... Or drop lines in into this thread that you changed.
May be of help to somebody

Do you still have this wakelock ? I have the same one, and it makes a big Keep Awake time in Android system, consume more power than Displey...
Anybody else know how to fix it, please write it ? Thank you.

Root ur phone and install Greenify from play store...!! add some of the apps in hibernation mode and see the magic...now my battery lasts for 1 day or so without stamina mode on!!

Root is not a option, I will lose warranty, today have 12+h in Keep Awake time by this wakelock...

Charge your phone to 100%, then wait for the issue to happen. When it does, open Better Battery Stats and take a screenshot of Kernel Wakelocks and Partial Wakelocks.

tnx for all the help bro
Audio_out4 is the speakers. It seems you're getting lots of notifications? To test it, try setting it on silent or vibrate only. This wakelock should disappear. I've had this on my HoX before, but it didn't eat as much battery as yours is doing though. Let me know if it still drains in silent/vibrate.

If you're trying to achieve ZERO PERCENT battery loss when the phone is idle, you're going to be sorely disappointed. As you've noted, even when you're not actively using the phone, the battery is still discharging. He'll, even if you were to POWER OFF the phone completely, the battery would still discharge. It's physics and unfortunately I'm not educated enough to explain exactly why. 2-3% battery loss per hour is really good and probably the best your going to get.

I saw that answer coming and, no offense, I think your friend is full of it. Short of leaving the phone powered down or in airplane mode, I can't imagine how he's pulling that off. Never in my phone loving history dating back to the good old G1 have I achieved that. I've seen it done on my iPhone before, but not Android. If he's really pulling that off, get him on here ASAP and have him share his secrets! D

That doesn't sound right. I was getting quite a lot of battery drain during screen off/sleep, not as much as you mind, but I disabled Google maps, installed a third party navigation app and tuned Google location settings off and pow...I'm on my second day without charging and still on 50% battery! Really has made a big difference. And the third party nav app works offline so no data usage.

What's your CPU bin number ?
Look at the file /proc/last_kmsg
search for where it says something like [0.602014] c0 1 acpuclk-8064 acpuclk-8064: ACPU PVS: 5
That PVS number is your CPU bin number quality. 0 is the lowest (bad quality & high drain) and 6 is the highest (best quality & reduced drain)
If you've got a PVS 0,1,2 or maybe 3 you should consider going and swapping the phone with your provider.

Actually, this is quite correct. No battery technology to date retains charge forever--the physics simply aren't there. As a battery ages, it will deplete if it is not fed a constant charge. Now, I'll grant you that this depletion is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY SLOW, but it's still there. My Droid RAZR MAXX would be incredibly low on battery in about 4 days even completely turned off.
EDIT: Re-reading the OP's post here, I noticed he cites that he lost alot of battery while the phone was "powered off" for 24hrs. Likely, I suspect he had "Fast Boot" mode turned on, which actually puts the phone into a hibernate mode rather than actually powering it down completely. These are not the same thing.

Battery drain no matter what i do

Even without sim card, the battery still drains, drained 10% every 5 hours. ( even wifi is off it still drains)
According to BetterBatterystats, the highest wakelock count in partial wakelock before is *backup*, (removed after disabling google backup)
The most wakelock right now is SuperStamina Xssm, it can be stopped after disabling Stamina mode, but even i did , this battery still drains.
any way to solve this? airplane mode also drains battery, basically nothing works from stopping battery drain.
in your screenshot you use wifi right?
Try to switch to GSM only (2G) in network settings and see if there's any difference.

How little do you expect the battery to drain? What are the current wakelocks right now? Are they still the same?
Can you use Wakelock Detector instead? The Xperia SP's battery might not be as great as you think....
Let's just calm down, and of course, help can never be demanded. Maybe your phone has a hardware problem that none of us can solve.

Why wait so long?
Take your phone to a sony service center(or where ever you bought the phone) and let them have a look at it, might be that your battery is just not working properly. They will replace if it for you.

they said it's normal for a phone without sim card to standby 2 days without using it
i personally think is software problem, i tried drain the battery down to 0%, then charge it full without break,
after that, the battery drain is just godly, after 2 days left 98%, but then the battery suddenly started to drain like hell,
after 5 hours it became 94%, then it keep draining down as usual.

If all the app draining apps are closed and alsoare bluetooth screen brightness and wifi.
The problem may be deeper.
Your kernel may have flipped and its draining this much battery i am not sure how to check it but i would not suggest you to flash a new kernel right away just because i think thats the problem.

Battery drain issue with new Xperia SP

Hi,
Its been a week since I bought the Xperia SP. The phone came with 50% battery with an estimated standby time of 2 Days. Now, the battery discharge really quickly. With a 100% battery it lasts only for a day (Estimated standby time of 20 Hours). Well I only listen to music on my phone. Brightness is kept at 1/3rd level and mobile data and wifi aren't used at all. I do a little bit of casual gaming. Subway Surfers , to be more precise. That's all. Also when you switch on / off the STAMINA mode, it doesn't effect the battery life. Estimated Standby Time sticks to what it was before switching on the STAMINA mode.
I need help in order to resolve this situation !

For the stamina mod problem do this

Clear its data and reboot.
The stamina mod should work fine now..do this whenever you find the stamina mod buggy

Man.. don't keep saying this like theres a bug with stamina mode.
It's not a bug, the reason his stamina is giving same estimated standby is because stamina is not making a difference, clearing data won't change this....only hide the problem for another few days.
Instead we should try find why his battery life is not good but from my experience this won't be easy... I think there's a problem with the xperia sp's stock rom causing fast battery drain.
@Gamer R - First thing to do is check battery stats for an obvious case. If there isn't one my best recommendation is to restart the phone. This can reduce the battery drain for a couple of days, sometimes restarting doesn't help though.

It might work for you.. but in OPs case it clearly isn't otherwise his estimated standby would be different with stamina enabled.
The phone does calculations related to your usage/battery drain to work out any benefit from stamina, if there is no benefit it won't report better standby time. Clearing data resets these calculations and nothing more...it wont fix any problem so there's no point in resetting them.

Anyways i dont want to fight with you on this...i helped him with the solution which worked for me...estimated time resets when you clear the data.clearing data is a temporary solution.

Okay
I think he wants a real fix though.. maybe you should give a disclaimer saying that its temporary and only fixes the estimate, not the drain
@spix123 & @dipesh1502
Well clearing data of Eco Mode did help in fixing the Established Standby Time. Time to test it whether is it being accurate or not. Right now I have 14% battery left with an established standby time of 16 hours.

Clearing the data cant possibly have any benefit to battery life, I have a similar problem to you and already tried it several times. If it appears to improve battery life then its just the restart which helped (assuming you restarted)
Right now your stamina mode estimate is not accurate, it takes a few days for it to correct the calculation as all data has been cleared.

I've had an estimated standby of 9 days before but chance of that happening is zero
I got this by having over 4 days on battery without using stamina mode then enabling stamina showed 9 days. This was a fluke though.
What is your battery life like? How many days and what usage?

For me Its about 3 days. Some calls. Some angry birds. At start Stamina Mode shows for me 9 days. But stamina mode mod keep data of usage and analyze them. Thats why after some days Stand By time is reduced. Clear data from stamina mode, it will show about 9 days. Don't use (really dont) your device and it can be possibly to make SP working 9 days. WHen I charge my phone in evening with stamina mode on in the morning (after 9, 10 hours) i still have 100%.
And hundert of times. There was a lot of Threads about battery for Xperia SP on this forum, and reeeeeeally lot threads about battery life in Android at all. Just use SEARCH option.

Are you using stock rom? I know the SP can have good battery life on custom roms.
I've searched through all the threads and none of them helped my battery problems at all so I can understand why OP made another thread even if he saw the other ones.
Yes Stock. But today I will change to existenz mod.

Do you have anything disabled? I don't see how you can get that battery life on stock rom. I've factory reset, tried airplane mode etc.. nothing works, battery just keeps draining mysteriously.
100% after unplugged for 9/10 hours is just impossible. Even when my battery decides to drain slowly it will still lose 5% in that amount of time with no usage.

I have just disabled/uninstall pre installed operator apps, and some stock apps. Turn off bravia engine and gloves mode. And - I use 2G Network only - 3g or LTE Network cant hold battery so long. More traffic - more battery drain.
I use my phone at about 3 months and it still hold 100% during night after full load. More. When I wake up my device in the morning it still have percentage of battery which was when my XP went to sleep.
Stamina mode of course ON.

Sorry for my bad english

I tried removing most of preinstalled apps but didn't help at all, also I'm using 2g only.
If I charge phone to 100%, enable stamina then go to sleep... in 10 hours I will have lost at least 20% battery similar to what this person describes http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperi...ometimes/m-p/474409?sl=y&sso_no_log=y#U474409
Do you have c5302, c5303 or c5306? What firmware are you using, 12.0.A.2.254 or older?

Well.. you are very lucky then I've read many other complaints just like mine on other forums
I've been trying to fix this problem for nearly 2 months with no success, there must be some bug in the phone software

We have (had - I run eXistenZ now) same software. Some people have this issue some not. I think this is hardware problem. Some batt can be better than others. Its like with for example CPU for PC. Some same models U can overclock a lot, and some make reboots after few steps.

My SOT is something between 3 and 5 hours, it depends on the standby drain. The problem is that if i leave my phone for 2 - 3 hours i lose about 20%
Not easy to see from only that picture. Enter android entry and see what cpu time is and so on, also show hardware usage
If it's not a fresh install I would recommend clearing cache on the phone from the recovery if possible. Usually helps
