Re: the ROM, just remember that cm10.2 is still experimental, but my 10.1 build of this same rom is entirely stable... (Different thread)

for the moment it seems to be perfect

Unfortunately the HALO 2 merge broke some stuff so I pulled it for now. Will post back once it's resolved.
Consequently I am also going to turn off the nightlies server until its fixes.
However the august 20 build that is up is working great!
Thanks,
J

Removed. Sorry. One other little bug to work out.
Everything worked fine on a dirty flash but when I tried a clean flash the notification for preparing SD card lasted forever.

I had that bug on FSC ROM sometimes too but a reboot (or several reboots) fixed it after a while... dunno really what was the cause

What's weird is the August 20 build is fine. But after the halo merge the bug appeared. Anyhow I've been on the 8/20 build for a couple days now and haven't noticed anything except CM related issues

Do you have the notification bug? Do you have an external SD card?
I didn't mean to release that build there are still some bugs like tablet ui FC

External SD is working.
Till now I found the notification bug (you mean in the settings?) and some strange settings with dual pane. But these are just little bugs

Can you do MD a favor and post the exact bugs you are talking about and where they are found so they can be fixed? Thanks man
The notification bug I am having is that the Preparing SD Card notification never goes away, ever...

Right now I am on Illusion. But I had a "settings closed" as I tried to enter notification bar settings. Also dual panel settings forced a settings closed (I am German, but I hope the translation fits for you)

Happy new year!!
Hi there,
a few words on questions that came up so far:
There is screen flicker (ie. black lines) in some apps? Why is that?
Since we can't use the ICS 3.0.9 Kernel that leaked together with the XXKPx Builds for the SGS2 we can't use
the new ICS Graphics blobs which depend on the new kernel.
The Graphics blobs currently in use in the first build are the ones from Gingerbread and those are (which is pretty obvious if you aks me)
not fully compatible with ICS.
A quick workaround that might fix the screen flickering for some apps while breaking others is:
Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Tap "Force GPU rendering" (enabled).
There are issues with SD mounting (internal/external)
Already on my list for the next build along with working MTP)
Do I have to factory reset when going from this build to the next build?
Most certainly not. Since all releases are tested before release I'll let you know if there is something you need to do before upgrading.
Is this a Team Hacksung release?
Yes it is. I am maintaining the development for the Galaxy Note while working closely with codeworkx, nebkat, xplodwild et al.
Is it supposed to have a forum on CM website?
Nah. Since we are in pre-Alpha stage there is no support besides the IRC User channel mentioned in the first post.
Notes on progress:
* YouTube playback will return. (This is kinda flaky in the current build)
* I am taking a close look at the USB gadget driver and have begun work backporting the Android standard gadget driver to replace Samsung's messy gadget driver.
Sweet, looking forward to giving this a try.

Brainstorming for saving the binary counter:
Shouldn’t it be possible to
- flash the kernel out of the archive using CWM Manager or Mobile Odin
- Boot direkt into Download Mode after flashing the kernel
- Flash the archive without kernel using Odin
Any comments on that?
BTW: Is ICS hardware acceleration working?
Very nice
There is any way to get or to build a CWM File?
Flashing using mobile Odin works a treat....
Don't forget you will probably need to fac reset...
Isn't it possible to use the camera driver from the galaxy s 2?

for those who want a flashable .zip, try this:

( changed link with changed updater script, old is also working)

PAC stands for ParanoidAndroid + AOKP + CyanogenMod. It is mainly a cm10.1 base rom with the PA features and AOKP settings.
I decided to port PAC to our GalaxyTab 7.7 after testing it for a few days on my Nexus 7. It has the status bar in Extended Desktop that I want...Although it is harder than I thought, it is done.
Cheers!
You probably need a factory reset (even from my cm10.1 and pa3) to let the AOKP services working properly.
Do aware of the eMMC brick bug!
Good luck!
5/10/2013
It is quite a while that I haven't update the ROMs. We are having a long holiday which allow me to work on my belove 7.7 again. Stuggling for a few days with cm10.2 on the flu. No luck for 4.3 yet! It just reboot after showing the lock screen...
The least I can do is to upgrade the existing 4.2.x. The cm source is mess up alot when trying 4.3 so I go directly to PAC. It is the release version of PAC now and probably the last 4.2.2 PAC. I'll try 4.3 again when I'm free...

Q: How to avoid the emmc brick bug when flashing
A: if coming from stock ics. Here is one of the easier way:
flash the rom (and gapps) in recovery. don't do factory rest and any wiping!
reset to recovery again.
do factory reset or wipe data
reset and enjoy!

Q: How to set the InCall screen to protrait?
A: In 4.2.x, the InCall screen orientation is determined by the calling card which doesn't handle rotation.
Hance remain at 0 degree (Landscape for our tab) all the time.
To set the inCall screen to portriat, you need an external app (eg. Ultimate rotation) to force Contact.apk to portriat.

Q: How to avoid error messages after a dirty flash from PA or cm10.1?
A: After a dirty flash (without factory reset), you may encounter a series of error dialog (mostly the xxx.acore.xx process).
This is deal to the mismatching layout data when attempt to sync. You may try this:
  Settings > Apps > ALL
Clearing the data of Contact Storage, Google Contacts Sync and some other apps might need sync...
If still doesn't work, it's about time to do a factory reset...

Outstanding effort as always. Thank you Sir.
Exciting work, Daniel. I'll be trying this out this weekend. Very curious to see reactions to battery life, WiFi, GPS, etc.
Hey Daniel, super excited about PAC for 7.7, thanks so much for your hard work!
Which kernel did you use for this ROM, and are previous kernels still compatible with it (e.g. kernel-a and -s from 2 jun)?

Wow, great ROM(s)
Do you ever think you'll build an AOSP ROM with stock Android?
Quick share of my first impressions:
quick share of my first impressions:
Pacman ROM is booting fine on my 6810. Had been short in time and therefore just tested for 10-20 min.
I came with a dirty flash (no wipe) from PA 3.60 over (again for one day) cm 10.1 to Pacman Rom + the linked PA-gapps from june.
As usual when doing a dirty flash and experience problems with processes like “package helper” or “android.process.acore” or else: it is always useful to quickly remove the google account and clear all app data for everything which is google and framework related.
(Clearing contact storage solves for example the “acore” problem. I always clear all of the rest like package helper, google playstore, all backup things and so on and so on. – it is faster than making a full wipe)
Coming to the rom:
Everything I tried out in this short time is working fine. Wifi, Camera. Performance is good, similar to PA 3.6 (I always felt that CM10.1 is more fluid). In performance settings I had not been able to go >1400 MHz but with other tools I went back to the OC value of 1600 MHz. Hybrid settings work as they should. For testing GPS I had no time left, work was calling me back to office.
Ram consumption is a little bit high!
But next time I will choose different gapps package, because this installs tons of gapps, which I actually do not need on my tablet. And then I will look what else apps integrated into the rom is eating memory. - I like tuning!
As obviously expected “pimp my rom” is working fine and the mali-status from the i9100 brothers is not working (think it is kernel related).
Since performance of hybrid roms as PA 3.60 and now PACman increased near to a CM10.1 level, personally I think I found a new daily driver rom.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Great work Daniel! Our savior and protector of our loved 7.7 tabs! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It is very nice to know that you now use a new rom code basis and continue the highly appreciated work. – So thankful!!!!!!!

Can't wait for that, bcoz this rom is awesomee :good:
Briefly tested this last night. I did have to do a factory reset because of the FCs. Upon doing that, I restored my user apps with Titanium, and all seemed OK. However, I had some weirdness with the UI. For example, I did not get the "holo style" menu buttons (at the top right of the screen) in my apps, even where I'd gotten them previously (in PA 3.6). Also, PIE did not show all information (like connected hotspot and notifications). I also had trouble resizing widgets, etc. within ADW. So, I restored PA 3.6 for now so I have a usable tablet.
I'm not sure what happened. If/when I have more time to experiment, I will try again because I love all the settings options on this ROM! Seems like the best of all worlds!!!
Nice work dude, good luck keeping up with three roms tho
It's awesome rom Daniel thanks to you for super great work, I like this rom because it's have more features then pa

By far the fastest and most stable 10.2 ROM I've flashed.
CM power widget and brightness slider in the notification pulldown, plus a lockscreen torch would make this a daily driver for me.
For now, I'm back to carbon 10.1 build - if the above are implemented, I would definitely be back.
This ROM has the speed of sentinel but looks and feels better.
Good work fellas, I'm very impressed

Guys,
I looked here and on your website. I couldn't find information about the baseband. I live in Cyprus. Does this ROM come with a European compatible radio?
Thank you.

We don't include it afaik, it just uses the cm one, and if cm doesn't include it, then it's the stock one.
We don't do anything to it though.

What are you calling lightweighted? Your Rom file has the same size than other cm/aosp ones, and list of features is more or less the same than Temasek's one, slimrom, crdroid.
More choice is better than less btw.

its lightweight by the means it runs very well on older devices, more is good to an extent, but too much can get in the way of getting work done and can become overwhelming. its trying to offer the latest without any lag or stability issues. temasek, simrom, and crdroid arent available to a huge variety of devices. we are taking ideas from slim, paranoid, and such roms to make one united rom that does not clog or slow down over time of use.
New server!
We got response for our new build server! Waiting for access credentials to connect to it...
The new one will be basketbuild. This also means that v1 is closer than ever...

We don't have an external SD slot.
Just use this:
"I accidentally wiped everything including the internal SD!"
Code:
adb sideload
Also, don't know if you manage the site, but if you give me a quick list of additional non-CM features, I can make it look neat for the Features page.

Hi @vedantgp,
I have run this great CyanFox Rom for the last 12 hours, it run good overall (except for rotation as mentioned). Very smooth.
Thanks.
I've installed this ROM and it's good but it gets laggy at times and just the rotation, since I love watching video using my phone, it's not favorable. Hehe, well. I'm willing to wait for the fix and will try to get back on it! Thanks for great ROM!

You need to update your recovery in order flash KitKat ROMs. The latest CWM (6.0.4.3) or Philz are the only two that will do it . I recommend Philz.

I have install this one, and it's a great rom.
Actually i think is the best one i have tryed till now.
I have v.2.0.2.
Single problem is the rotate function which works and not
But i have seen that is up a Experimental one launched in 16.01.2014!
Did anyone tryed it? What does bring new?
This is working great for me, the audio is no problem at all. I listen to hell lot of songs. Battery life is great. Yes, occasional lag is expected.

There our three methods (That may work) to try if it does not want to flash in twrp they our
1. Unmount system then flash
2. Factory Reset, reboot to recovery again then flash
3. Flash CWM and in this case try flashing a alt kernel
Edit: Windy is up

Factory wipe, + wipe Dalvik & cache to be sure.

Wipe Dalvik & cache again - just incase
Reboot - no problem - running LiquidSmooth
I'm now going to flash the provided Slim Gapps zip. Will report back if there's a problem

I will flash this rom also once i'm off work. Thanks for bringing this to the tab Z!
I am curious about this rom. Does it have double tap to wake?
Not yet or i didnt see where to activate it...but double tap status bar to sleep yes
SplitView aka multiwindow is working perfect...only Pie; i had to reboot to get it work.
And getting some fc's here and there...will bring back logcats tomorrow

How about looking 2 posts before?
So far this ROM is working excellent on Pollux in Dalvik.
Been using for two days for a total of around 24 hours and not had a single major problem. Very impressed its the slickest ROM I have used yet on 4.4.
I was using cm11 fidelity, then got a random reboot halfway through a game and got stuck in bootloop so thought I'd give this a try.
For anyone having issues, I had flashed cm11 fidelity inc mods then booted into CWM, didn't reflash kernel from laptop (no access at minute) just factory reset and wiped cache and dalvik cache.
Not major but once orr twice on MX player had the common sound bug, where the sound seems to stall for half a second, didn't have this on fidelity but had it on every other 4.4 ROM. One other issue is if you get a notification with headphones in, it still plays through loudspeakers too.
Very well done with this ROM guys thank you.
I dirty flashed it and i dont know why people says to modify first post i got it first try and apparently im not the one...
Well, someone else having trouble to mount SD?
I tried then a clean install and same thing, and also tried it with omni kernel...same thing, also no sd access from rom.

Could someone please test this new boot animation it is sized for this tablet, it is not flashable you will need to manually replace it, rename the 2560.zip to bootanimation.zip
