Hi All,
Ive been running Cyanogen Mod for sometime now and its frustrating as the External Speaker volume is low, I go back to stock and its normal.
Ive tried a few apps that ive read in threads, but yet haven't been able to fix this, Does any have any info on how to get this back to normal volume, Music is a little low, but ring tones are very low compared to stock.

Latest CM or PA have the low call volume fixed, also using Yank555 kernal with the re-vamped boeffla engine solves any low call issues.

Hi All,
this is my first post on XDA

Volume fix walk-thru
Hi,
I've tried and tried using different custom ROMs on my S 3 GT-I9305, but I still have the same problem.
I'm getting extremely low inbound call volumes - I can't hear the other caller speak. It's especially bad when I try call-recording, which I need for my job. I've tried volume fix apps too, they don't work.
I understand Foxhound has a built-in call recorder for their S4 rom, but that won't install on my phone right?
So I'm left with trying to fix my favourite ROM, LiquidSmooth 2.9.
Can someone please walk me thru getting the right kernal, installing it and any other steps?

Hi,
I'm running the PAC man rom on my I9305 and I had the same issue with sound. I flashed the AGNi kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339848) and now no more sound issue and some interesting tweaks to improve battery life.

[Q] Speakerphone/Earpiece Quiet after CWM

HI All,
I've noticed for some time now that before I flash a new ROM, when I go back to stock JF6 the audio in the boot up screen will blow your doors off. After flashing CWM, the audio is there but it is must less pronounced. I've also noticed that while using the speakerphone or the earpiece during regular calls, I struggle to hear the caller on the other end. It's fine before I flash CWM.
Anyone run into this before and if so, what can be done about it?
Thanks in advance!
Dan
I too have been wondering about the volume. I thought it was the rom I was running. I'm currently on phoenix 4.5 with firebird 2 v0.7 kernel. It seems like my volume is lower when I call another cell but fine if I call a land line.

i noticed this too. i use speakerphone alot, and it IS quieter now i use custom roms, and i use speakerphone MORE NOW because the earpeice is hard to hear.
Fix for Low Ear Peice abd Speaker Volume
I am not a programmer but I was wondering with all the talent on this site why is it impossible to have a fix for the terrible in-call volume the Captivate has. I have tried the settings in the service menus, but havent seen anything worth while.
Non of those settings stay past a reboot anyway.
The phones hardware is able to output the louder sound, I dont understand why we cant fix the low in-call volume on the earpeice and the speaker phone?
HELP!!!!!!
this post beat you by a few hours and is a little more specific/accurately worded (your post isnt a fix)

Thread merged with a similar one. I think the poster above U is asking a question (interrogative icon) and not stating he is posting a fix.
Cheers,
I noticed that it's CWM that is killing the audio (for me at least) before I flash a new ROM.

Low volume bug in CM 7?

This is driving me crazy, I'm not sure if its as a result of the dt beta script or cm itself, all my notifications, ringers and sound coming out of the loud speaker are low, a few restarts fix it but its driving me crazy.. can anyone help...
Noticed it on the official cm and unofficial versions as well

Yes it is the DT script. I hear the older official one works fine, but the newer beta's have the low volume bug.
The consensus that every other restart will have low volume, so if I have to reboot, I just do it again.
Also worth trying an audio boost (AB) kernel. I've moved on from dt a2sd to s2e from the market.
havent messed with this personally
but if its really bugging you this might be able to ease the pain a bit

[Q] Microphone volume very low while phoning

Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing problems with the volume of my microphone when I'm in a call.
The persons at the other end of the call can only hear me very silent.
The problems are only exists with the standart phone app, when I'm using a third party app (like sipdroid) my volume is fine...
I'm using Cyanogen 7.0.3 on my Nexus One
Is there a fix for this Problem?
With the stock ROM I don't have this problems but I need a ROM with trackball wake because my power button fails.
I can't RMA my Phone to HTC right now, because I'll be not at home in the next three weeks. Therefore I need my mobile phone with me.
I'd use an other ROM which has TB wake support and no microphone issues but at a quick glance through the forums I couldn't find a suiting one.
Thanks for your efforts to help me
hey, i have a similar problem but i noticed that using different kernel affect the microphone. I'm a noob to this so im not entirely sure if kernel is related to microphone.
Well basically im running miui rom 1.5.6 right now and i was using redstar kernel 38.4 and then i upgraded it to redstar kernel 38.5. Then i called my girlfriend and she could barely hear me. Then i reverted back to 38.4 and she hears me now much louder but not the clarity isn't as good.
You using DT a2sd by any chance?
Damn, my phone froze today at work and I had to pull the battery.
Now I can't power it on again due to the not working power button...
Battery trick doesn't work either.
So I guess I have to take the bitter pill and RMA it right now.
Holy sucks! What's the battery trick...just incase.
Can anyone suggest any 'good' solution? kernel or otherwise to fix this $#@$# 'bug' of low in-call volume in Nexus One??
Would really appreciate all the help!
If people hear you very quiet - look up the mod to disable noise cancellation. If the problem will disappear with noise cancellation disabled - it means your 2nd mic is faulty and needs replacement.

Nope, people hear me well. Its that I cannot hear well. Specially in traffic, I usually tell them that I shall call them back
Any help?
Look up Gingerbread volume control app in Development forum. It can override the system settings and make the volume much louder than the maximum stock, AFAIK.
Thanks, but this app is not working for everyone AFAIK.

[Q] loudpeaker sound decreased after jelly bean update.

Hello freinds
. my cappy came with froyo 2.2 and i flashed cm 10.1 nightly rom on it. Everything seems to work fine execpt that the loudspeaker volume has decreased very much...then i tryed the captivating xperia themed but the loudspeker volume dint incresed so i decided to go back to stock with odin one click back to 2.2 and now the speker volume is loud like before..i have followed mr trusello's guide to flash the rom the odin way..
Now i want to flash a 4.2 rom without compromising on sound
Any help pls seniors.??????
Thanks
Am i the only 1 facing this issue?
Anyone????
CM Jelly bean has some sound related settings that will be unfamiliar to you coming from Froyo.
on 4.2, did you check the system settings, particularly for DSP manager on the speaker tab? and headset plug in jack safety?
did you download the voodoo sound app and they try unchecking the box for tune speaker for music or other voodoo settings?
As above, it's a bit of a known issue on jb.
If you have a ROM with dsp manager or a similar root sound manager, you can crank up the levels a bit in there by messing with it. I know SLIM has it embedded, same with captivating.
Experiment with some settings and find what works best for you. As far as a permanent fix goes, wait for an update?

thanks bro dsp manager solved the problem
Try Unofficial Semaphore by Nick0703. You'll be amazed now loud your speaker can be. This kernel enables In-Call Volume Controls in Settings>Device.

[Q] Volume and Mic Issues

Hi Guys,
So in short,
I've edited mixer paths and used franco kernel to mic boost - which sorted the MIC issue out.
But earpiece call volume is still too low, even with 5.1 now - has anyone actually found a solution.
Also why does the volume seem to have a mind of its own, it lowers itself at the start of every call and you have to put it back up.
Is there some sort of automatic volume adjustment going on ? Nowhere to turn it off ?
Thanks
DM
No one? Especially the volume lowering itself question.

Guess not.

What exactly did you change to fix the mic issue? I've tried raising the gain and people still can't hear me in a call unless I use speakerphone.
Hey bro - faux kernel and faux sound app
Sent from my Nexus 6
Is there no way to do it using the Franco kernel? If I really need to switch kernels I will in order for people to actually hear me on a call, but I'd much prefer Franco

So I actually tried using that kernel and and for whatever reason with my current ROM it kept crashing System UI so that's a no go. I have volume mic gain at 15 in the Franco Kernel app and people still say I'm far away. This is the only freaking issue I have with the phone.
