Hi I recently had to factory reset my desire hd. Today I opened the car panel and the navigation button is greyed out, and I cannot find the application in the app draw. Does anyone know a way to get hold of the .apk or can anyone post it up. I still have the map files on my SD card.
Thanks.

Try adding the Footprints widget to see if it gives you the option to redownload locations, I had a similar problem and that did it for me,

I don't have a footprint widget in my list of widgets...

Well I put the locations widget on the home screen and got into the navigation, and activated my free trial (something I didn't do before, or have to do) and the icon is no longer blanked out. However I'm sure there was a direct link to the map application without having to go through the car panel.
Thanks for the help, looks like footprints has been combined with locations etc.

Sweet so the app is there, are you still missing the locations app in your app list?
try going to: settings -> location -> reinstall (under location service)
this reinstalls the htc locations app
I reinstalled it for a second time and it is now functioning and the icon has been restored, thanks for all the help guys.

How to get htcsense.com working on your device.
First, sign up to htcsense.com. Use Desire HD as your device. Go through the process until it says sign in with your phone. I had to do this via a PC.
Flash this package:
http://www.mediafire.com/?v6738zc4owqptt8
Go to settings, accounts and sync and choose to add an account. Choose htc sense.
Log in with correct credentials and info.
Thats it!
Things that work:
Text forwarding
GPS location
Remote ring
Remote lock
Things that do not yet work:
Remote wipe
forward calls

Well done, thanks!
What does the package do in order to make it work. And why do we have to do this, I thought this was a feature that should be working without jumping through hoops.

Easily answered:
Unzip the package.
As for the feature, give it a shot. You will find it missing.
This is my first HTC Android device - what is htcsense.com? Also, do I use cwm to flash this to the phone?
Edit: NM - got it installed and working - thanks OP!
Thanks alot man. Been looking forward to this. Seems it should have been released with it working out of the box....sad that you even HAD to fix it...
Wow! Only locations app/widget to be resolved now to get full functionality.
didn't see in your does and does not work list, but does this work for HTC Hub for wallpapers, scenes and themes? I clicked "Get More" and it just sits and a screen with a spinner.
Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with this. Downloaded and flashed it a more than once. The app shows up under system/app checked via root explorer, but its not in my app list and when I try to click on the MyHTC.apk, it says installation not complete. Any suggestions?

Same here
I get no Hub icon widget, but when i go to add more skins etc. I get the 'get more' option which then connects me to htc hub to download. Sad thing that it just sits on loading and nothing ever appears
That was an inadvertent feature/side effect.
Scenes and skins are no bueno, but sound packs , ringtones, notifications, and widgets work.
Will the features be added

There should be an app. I have one on the uber z rom I'm running on my incredible. That's a port of the desire z rom
Sent from my desire z inc port.

This isn't the Desire Z.
Follow the directions or it will not work.
Also, unlike the Desire Z, which has separate apps for each hub function, ours are integrated.
Got it working and I'm signed in. It was just throwing me off that there was no app in the app drawer. Thanks for letting ne know not to look for it.

Ok, had to flash it a couple of times before it would show up in accounts. Good to go now, thanks!
if you have a mac and need to sync
just use double twist
doubletwist.com
works great
Is there a way to delete the purchase history of market apps so that phone won't auto restore those apps?
Thank you.

I don't know about that but when wiping for a Tom install I always skip sign in on setup. Then I go to the market and sign in. That way there is no autorestore to slow everything down.

Just uninstall them and when ever you flash an new rom or whatever they will not automatically get installed, but they will however still show up in the bottom of the "my apps" section and just say "purchased" so you can install them at a later time if you wish.
This might sound a bit strange but since I flashed Bulletproof kernel yesterday I can't seem to view my own apps or settings on Google Play, I've attached a screenshot, usually I would click the top right of Google play and i could see my apps but as you can see it only appears to give me the option to search, I've gone through the app and cannot see settings or my own apps, anyone know what's happening here?

Looks like youre on a custom ROM with menu buttons removed. You need to map the menu to another button (ones Ive seen are double tap the back button). When you open the menu you can get that info. You'll have to check with your ROM to see how to access the menu.

If I'm not mistaken that kernel removes the 3 dot menu and maps it to the HTC logo inbetween the back and the home physical buttons

Running Trickdroid ROM but I've just restored my nandroid backup and I can again see my apps in Google play and the menu buttons so it was in fact the kernel that done it.
I'll just stick to stock kernel

You could just flash faux kernel which alreadu uses the HTC logo as a menu anyway. You'll then be able to access it properly.
I've set my phone to backup daily over wifi with the HTC backup app which it does.
The restore button is greyed out so how do I actually restore my settings?
I'm using TB at the moment to backup and restore my apps but it doesn't restore my home screen settings and icons.
How do I restore through htc backup?
Thanks

I wondered this a few months ago, my "restore from backup" was greyed out too but never found an answer.
However I have since discoved that after a factory reset or even when my phone was exchanged under warranty that the HTC backup will rebuild your One exactly how it was when the last backup was made, by this I mean the settings, passwords, accounts, apps, even your homescreen will be built including folders and wijets, theapp draw is organised too, such as any folders you may have created there.
I have used it twice now at it does a great job, once you turn you phone on and sign into the HTC account that you backed up with it is pretty much automatic ( it prompts you to log into the dropbox folder when required). What you must not do is use google restore if prompted and it will not restore app data such as level progress or achievemnts in games or passwords etc. I think the backup creates a list of apps that are then down loaded from the appstore in the background rather than backinging up the app itself.
To recap my restore from backup has always been greyed out but when needed after factory reset or setting up a new device it has worked fantastically.
