Nevermind, I reflashed and all of my network settings were automatically added back.
Hi.
My first post. So I'm completely new to all of this. I recently discovered this forum, and found out you could root the Incredible S. This was no problem. I am also able to flash different ROM's to my phone (always doing full wipe first).
My problem is that many of the ROM's will not even find my wifi network. They will show my neighbours SSID's when scanning. But not mine.
The last one i tried was:
[1st Nov] Nik_IncredibleS_TriNiTy_SensationXL V 1.0 By Nikhil007
Still can't find my wifi-network.
I am now using
[ROM][Sept26][INC S]Virtuous Unity 2.39.0 Sense 3.0 Based on Pyramid
This is the only ROM i have tried where it can connect to my own network.
Am I doing something wrong?

Change security settings on router. Try different encryption modes. (WPA/WEP1-2) You might need to set up a new wifi password.
Happens on stock rom as well.

Thank you for your answer.
This did not happen with my stock ROM, and it does not happen with the Virtous Unity ROM.
Is there no workaround? Shouldn't the ROM's be able to connect to any WiFi-network?
I can, of course change the security settings at home, but I don't think it will be appreciated if I do this at work.

Sorry, I was wrong, didn't have this problem on stock Inc S, had it on my hd2 when running android roms on it. Quite annoying, but what I experienced, the higher security encr. I used it was more likely that the device saw the router.
Don't know about workarounds.
Things like this and "small" glitches made me stay on the stock rom, don't even have my Inc S rooted.
Waiting on sense 3 ota...

Seems like changing security to WPA only, and cipher type to AES on my router did the trick.
I hope this gets resolved in future ROM's.
EDIT: And today after a phone-restart it will not find my network again..

i have the same problem like you hav niks rom 1,5 and flash the recomended radio no luck so far have to go back to my original rom so can somone explain or fix this we shold be the happiest people in the world sorry for bad english.

I am experiencing the same issue with Virtuous 2.39 Unity
My router is Gigaset 504 AGU.
Thinking about moving to stock Sense 3.0 ROM
User "scoobysnacks" is right, once again. The problem is caused by some custom Roms not having the Wifi Regulatory Domain set properly. There are a few options to go around this and change the regulatory domain into 14 channels.
1st option is to login to your WiFi router and manually over-ride the channel.
To do this, just login into your Wifi modem/router (http://192.168.0.1/ in my case) and go to the Wireless Settings or Wireless Advanced Settings and browse through the available options until you find Channel: Auto and change it to 1-11. It is best to choose a channel that is vacant in your area.
2nd option (probably the best option)
1. Use Root Explorer or Root Browser to navigate to "build.prop" file (usually in system folder)
2. Change the file type from read-only to Read/Write, if it prompts about it
3. Then change "ro.product.locale.region=US" to "ro.product.locale.region=EU"
4. Save the changes and make the file read-only again.
5. Reboot and the regulatory domain should be changed
3rd option (not really a workaround... )
Install Cyanogen 7.1 Rom and you'll have the option to change the regulatory domain from the Advanced Wifi Settings - Wireless settigs -> Advanced -> Regulatory Domain -> 14

Hello,
I triyed your recomendation, specially the second option, but on my build.prop file doesnt existe the ro.product.locale.region=US line, anything wrong if I added manually?? What did you think?
Thanks
You have 2 Options:
1. If your phone is on S-ON then you are supposed to flash htc stock kernel
2. If you are on S-OFF then try re-installing your rom with all other thing like wipe,etc...
3. If your problem with s-off wasn't solved, then try flashing Redux 0.8 kernel.(only if you are using sense Roms)
4. If you are on non-sense roms, try finding and flashing a good kernel for your rom.:good:

I might be wrong, but flashing a new radio is only going to affect 3g/ data signal strength etc. , not wifi ... isn't wifi is within the kernal? The BCM4329.ko file in the system/lib/modules folder?
I'm noobish to this aswell, and the reason i question this, is that when I was fooling around trying to get an OC/UV kernal to work on gingerbread, i kept getting wifi error when changing kernals...
food for thought

I have a similar issue.. but only when I use a Stock Rom..
When I use a CyanogenMod based rom I connect normally.
Any suggestion if there's an option, in build.prop maybe, so I can fix this in a stock rom?
hi, you use a rom from XDA? is it happen after flashing a new rom, first boot, no mobile internet? -> how about some informations about runnign system etc. pp. was it working before with same rom? and so on....
if no internet after first boot: turn on wifi, go Settings/Xperia/Internet Settings , and try download the settings with wifi. how that?
second thought: your provider's fault?
Xperia V is not officially supported by my carrier, but I can use mobile data on cyanogenmod.
I tried to add APN for my carrier, but they don't appear, using APN Manager I could see and try to apply them, only to get an error.
I was willing to go back to stock rom 'cause I wanted to use sony's camera.. but mobile data is essential.. guess I'll to stick with cyanogenmod..
i have added my provider (three uk) network apn manually and it worked.. yesterday.. Now still I cant connect. No reaction at all. I've downloaded settings via wifi and didnt help. Im running official rom 9.1.A.1.141. It is not a provider fault - I used o2 before and it was the same problem. Sometimes restart helps. but not now,
edit. now restart helped.. i dont get it.. This is very enoying
Anyone have any ideia how to fix this issue?
In CM all APN are shown correctly, in any stock based rom I can't add any entries, or it's not shown.
When I either try to turn on Bluetooth in the settings app or through the quick toggle, nothing happens. It simply won't turn on. I'm afraid I disabled the Bluetooth in the settings > apps > all section, but I can't find it. I'm also using the ATT D959 variant, stock rom rooted.

Hello, I just flashed the Marshmallow based custom ROMs on my Honor 3C. The CM13 Rom and the Resurrection Remix ROM. I love both these. They have many new features and give new life to the aging Honor 3C. But one bug that hasn't been resolved yet is the 2G/3G switching problem. I do not have a 3G network provider and use 2G. Is there any way to modify some files to force android to use 2G by default, because currently it uses 3G and I do not get any service since my carrier does not support it. If there is any way to do it, please let me know guys.
Cheers

Give this link a try. You will have to change build.prop on your system folder which will only be visible with the help of a root explorer like ES file explorer. Let me know if it works.
You can also use kernel audiutor to edit build.prop but only install it if you are sure what you are doing.
It's a powerful software and can brick your phone if you don't know what you are doing.

Thanks for taking the time in finding a solution for me. This sounds interesting and may just be the way for me. I'll try it out in a couple of days, busy at the moment, and then will let you know if it works or not

Still the phone is stuck to 3g and I can't change it. I hope the developers find a fix for the bug

2G/3G data not connecting automatically
Hi,
After flashing RR Rom, i'm facing issue in connecting to data, every time i need to turn airplane mode ON/OFF then the data starts connecting, any help for this issue is welcomed.
Thanks
Open Settings , scroll down and click System Profiles , at default tab click the gear icon , and find Preferred Network type and change it to 2G then turn on/off airplane mode. You're done ??
Thanks for the suggestion, i tried that too but no use. still whenever net disconnects I need to do the previous trick of ON/OFF Airplane mode.
2g/3g bug is fully fixed
