I have a 1 month old i9000M, originally from bell and unlocked for use on Rogers. I have tried several firmware revisions on this phone, and was using JPK until JPM/JP6 came out which I recently flashed to. Phone has been rooted and has clockwork recovery installed.
I picked up my phone tonight to the messaging app force-closing. The messaging app FC'd everytime I tried to open a thread, so I rebooted the phone. That was the last time I've seen the OS.
I re-flashed the current ROM with ODIN from download mode; which failed to boot. So I tried the stock Bell UGJH2 PDA/MODEM/CSC; which had the same result. I have tried flashing several different firmware version with re-partition enabled to no success.
I have tried clearing data and cache with no help. Nothing at all seems to result in the phone being able to boot.
Has anyone seen this before, or have any suggestions?
So in the end it looks like a dieing internal SD card, as in: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793404
The linux kernel's debug messages tell the story:
Code:
mmcblk0: error -110 sending status comand
mmcblk0: error -84 transferring data, sector 270, nr 3, card status 0x0
mmcblk0: error -110 sending stop command, response 0x0, card status 0x0
mmcblk0: error -110 requesting status
end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 270
Buffer I/O error on device mmcblk0p1, logical block 206
lost page write due to I/O error on mmcblk0p1
end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 271
Buffer I/O error on device mmcblk0p1, logical block 207
lost page write due to I/O error on mmcblk0p1
end_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 272
Buffer I/O error on device mmcblk0p1, logical block 208
lost page write due to I/O error on mmcblk0p1
same thing seems to have happened to me ... damitt, will need to send this faulty device back to bell, hopefully they will replace it.
A Bell store said to me that dead SDs are a known problem, and they've extended the DOA exchange period to 60days for the i9000m. However, they wouldn't help me because I didn't purchase the phone at that particular bell store - was told to call Bell's main line and get them to ship out replacements. Have to wait for Monday for that, so we'll see what happens.

Great job surdru !
Can anyone confirm if it works this release ?
Thanks !
my archos wasn't the same without surdu!
I will not install because i'm now with your slim and fast rom i'm waiting for the 4.0.26 too.
But your stock rooted rom is always a good choice. Good work. :good:

Hi Surdu
This release loads O.K. a quick test seems O.K. Will give it a good run tomorrow.
Best regards
This Rom seems to be a little bit snappier under the fingers than the xxx.25
Hope that the hdd suspend error is gone.

Good luck ! :good:
Working on my 80 Turbo 16Gb. Can report that GPS is working correctly in this version (I couldnt get a fix on .25 without wifi/maps hassle). The only problem I can see is that it is reporting an update is available. Also when I open settings/About tablet then press system updates instead of asking if I want to check for updates it instead pops up the task tray menu (i.e the clock/wifi status/notification menu which is normally on the bottom right of the screen all the time). I found if I then click on the an update is available icon from the task tray and say no thanks to downloading the update then everything is back to normal and the settings/about tablet/system updates button works as it should. Odd. Other than that GPS locks are fine without needing to do any WIFI connection and loading of Google maps to get a fix. Battery drain doesnt seem to be an issue and there doesnt seem to be any memory leaks in this version in fact I see a bit more free memory than in .25 I also note that many programs now dont auto start which is also saving me memory. I havent tried the HDMI port yet, will do that later. I can also report that USB mounting to a PC seems to be speedy and working correctly (this has always been a problem for me on ICS). One other issue which I saw with the last ROM too is that even when sat next to a WIFI router my signal can vary between 2 bars to full this is even with the disable powersave option clicked. Google music is working correctly and I can play PC generated playlists and MP3's no problem.
So with there still being WIFI signal issues Archos still havent sorted out all our bugs but as the old British Rail advert used to say "we're getting there"
good work

Hello,
I tried various methods to upgrade to ICS.
* Over-the-air <-- no update found
* LG support tool: I am stuck at download stage for hours. I can download GB of data in several mins. The log file shows error that I googled
with no luck of help:
* SmartFlash throws an error immediately about failure to connect to port. I tried several usb cables, same thing. I restarted the PC also. I cannot POST outside links.

Need help in getting ICS on the Optimus 2x, please.
Solved it this way.
Do not use Windows 8 PC to flash.
Also, do this. Start SmartFlash and try to flash usual way, it will fail with timeout error.
Do not close the smartflash utility, just repeat the process but before clicking 'Start' insert back your phone's battery. Weird, but will work like a charm.
After battery is in, then start flashing.
Good luck all.
Yes the battery method actually work ;p
Flashtool will always crash and stop responding when I click "Advanced"->"Trim Area"->"Restore" (both in Windows and in Linux). The following screenshot is the error log. Anyone knows how to fix it?
Here is the error log:

So I just noticed via Android Studio monitor while testing an app under development during device sleep, that it is continuously and at a good rate*, spamming the logcat log with:
10-21 15:59:43.543 239-239/? E/ccci_fsd(1): Failed to read from FS device (-1) !! errno = 4
I've felt that the battery use during sleep since buying it hasn't been all that great. Perhaps that's why with it continually spending the cpu on this.
This is with the latest official OS version for the Blu R1 with Amazon ads.
*Counted 16 lines in 5 seconds
Search turned up nothing. Device appears to work fine.
Factory reset does nothing as suspected. However, currently it looks to only show up when on battery power (I use wifi ADB and found this problem with device in discharge state during sleep) - it should show with a logcat reader app I suspect.
Eg (discharge)
10-21 14:20:38.236 854-919/? E/native: do suspend true
10-21 14:20:39.448 238-238/? E/ccci_fsd(1): Failed to read from FS device (-1) !! errno = 4

10-21 14:23:29.666 1781-1871/? E/MPlugin: Unsupported class:
Anyone have any thoughts?
Nevermind, mystery solved. Found out airplane mode with wifi enabled fixes it.
Looks like it could be from not having a sim card.
