[Request] Rom for Mini GT-8190T (LTE) - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I have been looking for a stock rom for my phone for a while now with no luck. Will the roms for the other models work on the LTE model?
Anyone else have any luck with the same phone?
I look at all the cool **** people are doing on their CM samsung minis and I cry a little inside.

That's lika a i8190N with LTE, right?
Don't know if other rom's work for it. You'll have to try
I'm pretty sure you can root it same way as the other models, make a nandroid backup in recovery, try another rom and see if it works.
If it doesn't, then just restore your backup
I can make a deodexed stock rom for it if wanted, and you can debloat and add mods as you wish.

is it not this one?

Yeah, that is the phone.
I'll try mess with some of the roms available and get back to you - any stock rom would be a godsend. Planet touchwiz is not a pretty place haha.

lots of ROM's to pick from some have similar features some work better for different regions

Well I'm not entirely sure what features you're looking for in a ROM, but we have quite a few JellyBean ROMs such as HellyBean, Captivating, CM10, SlimBean, etc. Check the threads in the development section to see which ones have what features and pick one that best suits your needs.
If there's any specific feature you're looking for I might be able to point you in the right direction, or maybe someone else here can.

I would hold off flashing it, I'm not sure if it's compatible (my gut says no). Anyone who knows more about it care to chime in?

Actually based on what I've looked at in both Hellybean and Slim just now the mod just might work cause the only thing the mod is doing is adding ringtones to the audio folders. My only real concern is the script in the zip file and whether it will work with the cappy but you could always try it. My suggestion would be to do a backup and then flash the mod and see. Worst case scenario you have to do a complete wipe and reflash your ROM.
Another option is extracting the tones from the mod zip and manually placing them into their respective folders on whatever ROM you're running. Then you'd just need to change the permissions on the files and reboot and it would/(should) work.

That's what my concern was :highfive: , wasn't sure if it would flash properly in case of a different file structure. But yes you should be able to extract what's needed and place it in the respective folders.
On extra ring tones, I've simply been adding them the cm10.1 nightly zip before I flash it, in the folder system/media/audio/ring tones.
I do it with X-plore app.
It flashes fine, and the settings with contacts survive flashing.
I found that wasn't the case when they were stored in the internal SD card, probably because media storage scan starts from scratch after flash. So, even though the files are still there, the individual contact's association with the ringtone gets lost.

Tester Wanted!

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to ask for a little assistance from anybody with some experience. I am the dev of the Project Infinity ROM. Currently it is on the Tmobile S5 dev forum.
As most people know however that the tmobile device is extremely similar to the international device and is able to run any of the international roms. Therefor, shouldnt it be the other way around as well? I am looking at "porting" this extremely feature rich and powerful rom to all the other S5 variations. By that I mean just changing some features to enhance compatibility between the specific device.
I was just wondering if someone with any other variation phone can do me a favor and test the Project Infinity rom and ensures it boots or provide me with any issues or problems that comes up.(please have a strong backup first!)
If it does work then this might mean that a few Tmobile propriatary features might be able to be ported along with it. (No, WIFI calling will still not work unless your on a tmobile network).
Here is my rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54727694
Also, if any extremely experienced user on an ATT device happens to see this, please pm me. I have questions as to the current root methods that is now used and what is functioning so far.
Thanks in advance!

Running G900T Rom's on the G900F soft-bricks your GPS.
Not on the G900T ROM that you're running, but when you flash back an G900F ROM after that (with data/factory reset!) your GPS won't work anymore...
Even restoring back the G900F Odin firmware didn't fix it for me!
After 2 weeks (with bricked GPS) I did found an solution, and that was flashing an old NE5 G900T ROM, after that my GPS started working again, also on the G900F ROM's.
I know it sounds strange... but I've experienced this multiple times, with different G900T ROM's.

Thanks for the info, where there any things disabled while running a g900t rom? Was everything working?
Thanks, just curious cause i can add that fix to the op if people only want to switch back to a g900f rom after.

No, everything works when you run an G900T ROM on an G900F device.
Only when you flash back an G900F ROM then GPS won't work.

[Q] Running International Roms

Was anyone able to successfully get data running on international roms? Everything seems to work BESIDE data...which is important lol
I've seen 4 or 5 threads just like this and its a great questiom, although none of them have any replies.
Are we able to flash AT&T Roms also or just INTL Roms?
I'm gonna grab the TMO Kernel and start testing this a bit, I just want to clarify so I don't hard brick the radios or some crazy stuff like that.
The international roms need files replaced to get data to work any att/canadian rom will work on our device with only kernel change

Click this link and make sure you only use the files labelled for the SGH-I537 US (AT&T) Active
Stay away from the international threads, a lot of their custom development won't work on your phone. The only "custom recovery" that won't brick your phone is SafeStrap and there isn't a huge selection of roms; the best choices right now are GoldenEye, Goldfinger, or Hyperdrive (if you like the touchwiz experience) and Pure Nexus if you prefer the AOSP look and feel
THANK YOU

Hyperdrive if you like touchwiz - Samsung's version of Android, how stock Samsung phones look but with more theming and customization, or
Pure Nexus if you like AOSP, so-called "vanilla" android, closest to how google makes android actually look (closest to the cyanogenmod look and feel). This rom (in both theming and overall experience) is based off of the Google Play Edition Galaxy S4.
Other than that there aren't many options. I would argue at the very least those are the two with the most support or ongoing development, although someone please correct me if I'm forgetting any others. Which of the two roms you choose I think really comes down to a fundamental personal preference: do you prefer Touchwiz or AOSP? Although again, someone chime in if you disagree with my assessment.
Im looking forward to install the Nexus room. I actually like more AOSP better than TouchWiz . Do i have to install the Google applications seperate or is already included on the room and SuperSU app?
Sorry to ask you many questions but your the only one helping me out and i appreciated your help!!

Good questions. You do not have to install the Google applications, they're included in the rom. You WILL however have to install SuperSU while installing the rom. Simply download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip and flash it immediately after flashing the rom zip file (i.e. before you first boot up).
If you prefer AOSP over TouchWiz, definitely go with the Nexus rom. Just some notes, the first boot up will take a fairly long time, this is normal and just be patient. Actually it takes a while (I'd say up to a day or two) for the rom to really "settle in." And one noticeable bug that's easy to deal with: turn off Wi-Fi right before you either power off or reboot. If you don't do that, Wi-Fi will not work properly. Should you forget to do that, Wi-Fi can still be fixed with a hot reboot. So not a crippling bug, just something to keep track of. Other than that I can't think of anything, just good luck and make sure to always make backups before doing anything. It's always my pleasure to help whenever I can
bricked???
Can someone please help! My phone is showing the message: Update failed try again using kies ( or something very close to that), it won't enter recovery mode, all I can get to is Odin mode, yet when I try to flash the firmware it failed every time, out fails when it gets to boot in the dialog box. I tried to flash another boot animation, so I'm assuming that's where I went wrong, can someone please tell me what I can do to fix this? I'd be eternally grateful, thank you!

Some help getting instructions for a ROM.

Help.... I am new to ROMS. I need some help with picking one and getting it on my device. I would like a ROM that has an Edge screen and preferably running as much of stock/themable Android possible. I know my way around Android except this, please help me so this is something I can do for others.
Build your own. There is a tutorial on how to add the Edge Panels to any Nougat Note5. Keep it as stock as possible. The Dream UX is beautiful but having it work on device as old as ours it is just trouble. S8 based roms are not that fast and have many bugs. I built my own pack of mods because I could't find somethig that wasn't excessively modified.
... Okay, I would need some help installing the file. I don't need my phone to look like a completely different device. Well unless its a version of stock Android. Is there any ROM s for that? Also my model number is SM-N920A.
