I was under the impression that many apps have a hard time running from the external.

If your taking about manualy backing up your downloaded apps. You can use Root explore or ES file explore with root access added through setting. Go to /data/apps and select all to copy to you external SD. Hope thats the answer you need.
Hey guyz,
I downloaded Asphalt 7 game,
I got the apk file and the sdcard data file,
Wen i tried the data in internal memory it was showing not enough memory even wen the space is available.
I installed the apk but i think its searchin for it in internal memory and not in the sd card.
How can i make it search in the sd card?
How to move the games to sd card?
or how can i simply install that game?
You will be unable to....
Not a Moto thing but more of a Google decision.

This is a major drawback on Atrix HD over my previous Moto. They combine storage for apps and internal storage for media. I have 8GB storage available for media on my Bionic and 4GB free space for apps. Almost nothing we can do at the moment. Hopefully rooting can save us. So we can change vold.fstab to use sdcard as primary storage.

It's not, it's just a hard phone to crack, go check out the dev section and you'll see several people have been trying for a while now to root it

Not possible at the moment. Maybe we can ask Hashcode to help us.

I made a 2nd partition on my external sdcard to use link2sd to try to free up some space. I'd done this previously several months ago on my old microSD card and had no problems. Well, this time, all the apps I linked have disappeared from the app drawer. I can find some of them looking around through ES file manager, but I can't open them or move them anywhere and they don't show up in the link2sd app anymore so I can't un-link them. Additionally, now whenever I try to download apps from the play store I get an insufficient storage error, so I can't even re-download the apps that disappeared.
What the hell have I done and is there any way to fix it? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Well the phone won't support apps on SD card so you have to switch it back to internal.

How?
Edit: I got rid of the insufficient storage error and got my apps to download again, but for some reason the sd card still won't mount. Not to the phone or my laptop. Ideas?
Do the opposite of what you did on app to sd. Switch it back to internal.

I didn't do anything on link2sd except link individual apps. Those apps no longer appear and the card refuses to mount, so I can't do the opposite.
Is it possible to use my SD card as internal storage ? And vice versa

You'll have to double partition your SD card with different formats for each partition. DO NOT GO OFF OF WHAT I JUST SAID. That was a brief summery of what to do. You'll have to go through the forms here and possibly other sites.
Note: correctly partitioning your SD should wipe it, thus please backup you're SD on computer. You have been warned. Good luck and have fun

Quick question. Why did motorola make a small "internal storage" and than the 8GB internal of my Atrix is classified "sdcard0" and the actual external card becomes "sdcard1".
My older phone didn't have the internal storage as "sdcard0", just the actual sdcard, so app2sd worked, which is the main reason why people are looking at options such as storage swap (myself included)
Hello,
I would like the SGT7 to work like a modern day tablet:
1. Internal memory with emulated sdcard (for applications)
2. External memory w/removable sdcard (for media such as music)
I want the OS to create /Android /Pictures /Movie /Music etc. on the internal sdcard memory.
I want the external sdcard to be storage only for music and/or video files.
Can the SGT7 be configured this way? If so, is there a ROM or script for the P100 that can already perform this configuration?
Would I need a new .pit file?
I'm already rooted, flashed recovery, have flashed a few CM9 and CM10 roms already to this device and none have configured the tablet as I described. 2GB isn't much internal memory but I don't have that many apps.
Thank you!
Isn't point 1) and 2) the default behaviour of cm9 and cm10?

Thank you for the response. That is what I would have thought but after trying several roms the directories Android, Movies, etc. were created on the external microsd card. The installed app data is on the external microsd as well.
Not much idea on CDMA tab.
But I guess you try to take out external SD, then do wipe data or even reflash cm from internal SD card after that.
Make sure external SD isn't involved.
Then after all boots up OK, insert external SD.

Thank you, I'll give it a try!
UPDATE: there is no internal sd to mount to with the external sd removed.
Despite moving the CM 10.1 zip around the device to various folders via TWRP the zip wouldn't flash
Didn't work. Still trying to have an internal sdcard for apps and external sdcard for music files, movies, etc.
