[Q] Toggles on 4.3 GE ROMs - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

is there anyway to have the toggles just toggle instead of going to the option in settings? like when I tap the data icon it goes to the settings instead of just toggling it. 4.2.2 didnt do this. BTW just to be clear im talking about the stock android toggles like when you tap the icon on the right top side of the notification pulldown

On GE it is different to Sense. To activate toggles such as Data, longpress the toggle and it will activate/de-activate, in the same way as it does on Sense by just touching once.

At least it's long press to actually toggle.

2G/3G one click toggle widget?

Is there a ONE CLICK 2G/3G toggle widget? I've tried Extended Power Control, but that toggle only opens up the Mobile Networks page, so it becomes a 2 click toggle.
I know HTC roms have this toggle so why not others? I've tried searching around but couldn't find any

Both only have shortcuts the the network settings page which makes it 2 clicks (3 clicks if you include the back/home screen button) Any 1 click widgets out there?

Read the description on those apps. The OS does not allow one-click toggle of 2G/3G, so they did the next best thing by taking you straight to the settings.

Well figured since HTC could do it on their own ROM, someone could figure something out
I have a HTC phone but can't see a widget to do this. Care to elaborate?
For Nexus such widget needs to be a part of the ROM - since it needs to be signed with ROM key for system access. There's a thread about it in Development section. And that's why HTC could make such widget (assuming that they did).

[Q] [ROM] Maximus 7 Questions

Just a quick question. With the latest update to the Maximus 7 ROM (May 19th Update), we got toggles in the notification bar. I was just wondering if there was anyway to change which toggles show, because there is no toggle for brightness and that is something i use quite often.

If you can disable the Maximus toggle bar then I'd just install powertoggles(free), they're wonderfully customizable in looks and options.
Alternatively you should be able to swipe over and show more toggles, almost all of the rom toggles I've seen work that way although I haven't tried Maximus since the latest update.

That was my first thought, as i have an app called notification toggles which is very customisable and i wanted to keep using it. It seems that the new toggles are baked into the ROM though so i'm stuck. Thanks for your suggestion anyway.

Did you try swiping back and forth on the toggles? I'm using trickdroid and I think it's the same basic toggle mod for both, when I swipe just one icon over there's a brightness option.

Yeah i've swiped and everything. It has WiFi, Bluetooth, Mobile data, Airplane mode, Silent, Vibrate, GPS, Sync, Rotate. I wouldve thought that Brightness would be more important that Auto rotate!

[Q] One click to launch Quick Toggles in HTC One running 4.2.2 ?

I have just updated to 4.2.2 in my HTC One. I found the Quick Settings is very useful when I am going to toggle settings like WiFi, Bluetooth, LTE, Air Plane mode etc.
But it is very stupid to use 2-fingers pulling down the Quick Toggles directly, especially I am using my phone with one hand only. Pull the the Notification Bar and then press the button upper right to launch the Quick Settings is also slow and inconvenience.
I know Nova Launcher has got a shortcut to pop up the Quick Settings instantly, but I really want to have the original Sense Launcher. Is that any app or widget can launch the Quick Toggles page as a shortcut???
P.S. My phone has not yet rooted... I hope for a non-rooted solution.
I'm actually curious about this as well. I don't have 4.2.2 yet, but from what I've seen, I don't think that I'll like having to either use 2 fingers or pull down the menu and select the secondary menu. I'm currently using the Quick Toggles app from Google Play, and it does the job, but it would be great to just use the stock feature.

Notification bar toggles mod?

Just wanted to know if there is any mod for the notification bar to put quick toggles the way that Sammy phones have it. I hate having to click something to get to the toggles.

What do you mean by "click something to get to the toggles?" Just swipe the notification shade down with two fingers to show the toggles. Tap a toggle to go into its settings or tap and hold to toggle the function.

There's no way to add new toggles to the noti. shade right? I'd kill for a flashlight switch there.

There is. It's called "Power Toggles" You can add many toggles (including flashlight) right below the date in the notification drawer. You don't even have to be rooted for this.

Go to playstore download an app called power toggles. Open the app and configure what toggles you want on notification bar. It will be the same as in samsung

Have you Checked out Xposed Framework and Gravitybox?
It allows you to turn your quicksettings into toggles. The main reason why I used gravitybox was the torch & wifi AP toggle plus it was just update so you can rearrange the order.
This option might be better if you want to keep android looking stock. Also Xposed framework brings in all kinds of options you'd expect with custom roms.
I'm hoping we get these kind of toggles on the Moto X. This is my Gnex. I don't know why moto didn't add the option to add more toggles like the SIV and G2.

Sorry to bring back a fairly old post but I have been looking for an Xposed module to do Notification toggles. I thought Gravity Box did it but I cant find it. Am I overlooking it or did it lose that feature along the way?

Under status bar tweaks, quick settings management. Turn the option on and reboot. Come back to this if you want to customize.

I've customized them already. I want them as notification toggles not tiles on their own curtain. There is no setting I can find to turn off the rules and make them toggles on the notification curtain.

If you long press they act as toggles (that behavior can be changed as well). I know what you mean though. Maybe you can look at "Power Toggles" in the play store.

I really like Notification Toggles in Play. If rooted you can install as a system app and get true 1-touch state switching.

This. With gravity box..you just long press the tile and it toggles....no need to go into settings like when you just press the tiles quick.
Most...that I've tried anyway...apps that give you toggles on the notification screen, like Samsung, give you an icon in the status bar on the top left. And you can't get rid of it. Personally I can't stand that. Lol

Custom quick settings (no root required)

I stumbled across a custom quick setting app yesterday and I thought it was worth sharing. It's kinda limited at the moment but you can change tiles, hide status bar icons and enable percentage in the status bar battery icon.

The app does allow you to add a custom tile though, which is more than you can do with the system ui page. Hopefully it gets more features soon.
I'm on stock and neither of these work for me.

Did you hold down the cog at the top of the quick settings pulldown, if it's active you should have a little spanner next to it.

make sure you hold it down in the center of the cog and I would give it like a good ten or twenty seconds if need be. Mine took two tries and then it worked perfectly.
Still no go..
I'm using a rro layers theme but don't see how that can effect it.
You have to hold it down for a while. I did it for 10 seconds.

Makes no sense why this doesnt work for me..Guess I'll just wait for the settings in a custom ROM or something.
The cog actually spins under your finger, use a stylus or something that will allow you to see the cog whilst you press it.

Do you have a little wrench near the cog? If you do, it's already enabled. Then, go into settings and scroll to the bottom.
ill give it a shot but none of that is there...no wrench and no action when holding.
also make sure you dont have animations in dev settings turned off. animations must be on for it to work.
