From the creators of Sliding Messaging Pro (@klinkdawg24 and I), we wanted to announce our newest project for you guys today! Sliding Emoji Keyboard!
Play Store description:
PLEASE READ:
--- If you don't read it, it will be very obvious to us and we WILL NOT be willing to help you. You have been warned. ---
This is a standalone keyboard that we have created with our app Sliding Messaging Pro. It is baked into that app, so there is no need to download here if you are only using it for that app, but we wanted to add it for anyone to use, even if you don't support us through that app.
This keyboard only supports Google's new Google+ emojis, the ones in their hangouts app.
NOTE: This app will NOT actually show the emojis in the text box or on the device unless your system supports them! Please understand this! We have no way to add support for that from this app. If you would like to get that working, you will have to have a rooted phone and change the system font to one that supports Google's emojis.
Even though it doesn't show them correctly in the text boxes, when you send the message/tweet/email or whatever you are using it for, they will show up correctly, again as long as the app supports Google's new emojis. The recipient will receive them fine as well, as long as their phone has emoji support. They will be received fine on any iOS devices and any messaging app for Android that supports them. Almost all do by now.
To actually see the emojis in the app, you will have to install an app that supports them. Examples of this would be: Sliding Messaging Pro, WhatsApp, Hangouts, and many more, you will have to find out yourself if the app you want to use our keyboard with supports them.
--- How to Enable/Use ---
To enable the "Sliding Emoji Keyboard", go to Setting -> Language & Keyboard, then check the "Sliding Emoji Keyboard" to enable it.
To use "Sliding Emoji Keyboard", you need to change the input method:
- In Android 2.3 and below, select "Sliding Emoji Keyboard" from the dialog that comes up after long pressing on any text box.
- In Android 4.0 and above, drag down the notification try when a text box is selected, then select "Sliding Emoji Keyboard" after switching the input method.
--- REMEMBER ---
As I said above, you won't be able to see all the emojis on the device! Sometimes they will show up as a blank space and usually they will show up as aiona black and white image of the selected emoji. THIS IS FINE. THEY WILL SEND CORRECTLY to all your friends that have support for them (again, iOS users and any Android messaging apps that have the emojis in them).
Please don't just rate it one star because you can't see the images. I have explained it to you, so there are really no excuses for this.
Thank you for reading, and if you didn't, remember that we will not be very willing to help or support you.
Credit to Andreas Stuetz for his PagerSlidingTabStrip!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Screenshots coming in the next post! Play store link will be coming soon, once the app is actually up on the store.
We think that it turned out very well. Looks great and supports Google's new emojis.
Some notes for Sliding Messaging Pro users:
- this app is baked right into Sliding Messaging, so you don't have to buy the keyboard to use it with our app, a little extra bonus for ya
- This keyboard is available anywhere in the system though if you do buy it, so if you want to use it with other apps, twitter, email, ect. you will have to buy it.
- We did it a little differently in Sliding Messaging to increase funtionality. It is the same concept here, just isn't able to actually display the emojis on the edittexts, where as it is able to do this in sliding messaging. So just know this, as it is explained in the description.
Hope you guys like our work! It should be up soon!
Here is the play store link! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.klinker.android.emoji_keyboard

After finally having a new emailing service in place, I am happy to announce the release of SMS Forwarder Pro. An SMS Forwarding app that does so much more than just forward your text messages to any number and/or email that you specify.
AndroidAppsReview.com gave it the Editors Choice award in their review.
SMS Forwarder Pro is a tremendous value for those in need. What you make of the app is up to you, but with a fair price, tremendous functionality, and a gut-bustingly simple design, SMS Forwarder Pro earns a full recommendation from us here at Android Apps Review. The app is a power-punch for the right user, and with killer tech support rolled into the mix, your days of wondering exactly what was said to whom are officially over.

Hi,
i´ve read both sites, but few questions are hanging on me.
You have written something about stealth mode, did this mode also hide the app from the Froyo menue?
In my humble oppinion it is not very tricky for kids to discover and delete this app.
If the app is configured, is it neccessary to activate it every time, or ist there an option to "start" the service permanent?
Thanks for more information
Regards
Christian

I have the same question
Hi!
My apologies for the late reply.
Anyways, its not necessary to manually start the forwarding at boot. This can be configured from the app and its possible to have it automatically start up.
It is however, not possible to hide the app from the launcher. Even if it was, it would still be visible in the application management screen anyways, so any kid who's the least tech savvy would be able to remove it.
That said, your best bet would be to install a 3rd party launcher that has the ability to hide menu items (I believe both ADW and Launcher Pro can do this).
Hope that answers your question. I am contemplating releasing a free version of the app here on XDA for a limited time period!
New update uploaded. Fixes some layout issues on low-res devices, and improved layout alignment on all other devices!

Version 2.4 is out. Now you can change the way Drextee looks on your watch.
Love the app. But is there any chance you can let users change the vibration for when a message is received. Even your long vibrate setting is actually very short. Please let us set a vibrate pattern.

Hi ruggs1234,
What version are you using? We added more options a few months ago. The longest vibration is 1 second now. Do you mean that's very short?
Thank you for using Drextee!
Im using the current version with the vibrate set to very long. But im hoping the user can define a pattern. That way I can make the pattern stop and start enough for me not to miss. I appreciate all you settings are handled on the watch so this may be tricky but this is otherwise a fantastic app so im hoping....
Thankyou.
Hi all,
We just released a productivity keyboard for smart phones. It has some of the technologies that you have been using in our Drextee Messenger.
For more information, please see https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-productivity-keyboard-t3697472 and let us know what you think.
i downloaded it an tried.. seemed to really run slow.. have trouble syncing.. and the interface was hard to understand.. would def like to try again after some updates. Thanks.
The handwriting option is supposed to be under input methods in settings (per an article I saw about Wear 2.0) and it's not there on my Urbane. How can we get this and activate it?

Wondering this myself. I don't see it on my LG G Watch R either.
Acoording to this (old) Android Police article it was kind of a hidden feature in the dev previews:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/05/23/how-to-enable-the-handwriting-keyboard-on-android-wear-2-0-preview-1/
I don't remember reading anything about this feature getting dropped.. was it?
Settings -> Personalization -> Input Methods.
Edit: I realize that this is probably not what you're looking for lol. I dont see any handwriting itself on mine. The only thing I see is the keyboard itself which you can type or swipe on which does work nicely.

Just click on "Manage keyboards" and you'll see it right there, then you will need to click on the 'world icon' when you are typing. Hope it helps
I asked Android Police if they knew something about it. Cody looked into it, said it is there (in the apk) but some bug is preventing it to show up
Found the Handwriting Keyboard!!!! You need to go to the Play Store on your watch (under TOOLS) and download the Google Handwriting input keyboard. You then need to go to settings, personalization - input and check it to activate.
Then when you're in an app that can use the keyboard, just long press the keyboard icon to show the alternate keyboard (handwriting) option. It works ok, not super, but good to have it!!

Yep it just went live today (or maybe yesterday). It came preloaded with the dev previews and LG G Watch Style and Sport, but apparently didn't make it into the OTA for the other watches.

Is there a way to change the emoji type? I'm not a fan of the standard weird shaped face one.
I've only had the phone a week so not looking to root yet, especially as is work phone. I usually just flash an emoji pack or LOS ROM to fix but obviously out of the question at the moment.
I have tried the app huawei theme and downloaded the Oreo-emoji and got it to work on my p10 only when using the English language
You can try to make an own theme with the Theme Maker from Play Store. You can add fonts, so it should be possible to add an emoji font.
If this won't work you need root for replacing the emoji font.
Thanks both will look into. @berka38 I have searched "oreo" ion the "themes" app on phone but nothing coming up, do I just search in there?
Download the huawei theme app from play store and in there u can choose to download emoji and themes and things

works like a charm thanks :good:
Just a shame can't have a theme enabled at the same time but at least I have the better emojis.

Once your emoji font has been set, you can change your theme to one of your choice, that does not contain another font, of course. ?

To see all the emojis, you can try restarting your device, but if that doesn't work, you will need to clear your keyboard's data.
Also, depending on the keyboard you're using, it might not support all the new emojis yet.

Now, there is no way to get a them, icon, font & emoji together is there? Or any combination of the above? Unless I learn to make my own theme?
@berka38, could You please tell me the exact name of the app you suggested as huawei theme app, because I can't seem to find it in play store?
Hi the name of the app I use is: themes manager for Huawei emui
I like the WhatsApp-own emojis...is there a way to get them for Gboard / system?
I have not tried my self the what's app emoji style but u can try the themes manager for Huawei emui app
But how do you change it back? I used iOS emojis... But i want to change it back to the original... I deleted that ''theme'' and restared phone... Didn't work... Help pls
I'd like to change the Whatsapp emojis to Oreo's - any way with root?
I chose the iOS emojis but they won't show in the keyboard however the Oreo ones do?
Any help how to get these, p.s I am using Google Keyboard
Is this a Samsung thing where they intentionally butchered this feature except for in their own messaging app? Floating bubbles is set in the notification settings but when I search for the option in Facebook Messenger, all I get is the option for the crappy chat heads. On my Pixel 6, I can set this option. I even tried copying over the exact apk that is working from the Pixel to the Samsung phone and the option is still not there.
This?

No, the bubbles option. In Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced Settings -> Floating notifications there are 3 options: Off, Bubbles, and the one you have in your screenshot. I am wanting bubbles so that all my conversations across all my apps are grouped together. I have bubbles enabled in that settings menu but the option still doesn't show for me in any app besides Samsung Messages.

Sorry, it's disorienting when you lose your preferred IU... I know.
I hate that interface... so I was happy to ditch it.
Can't even find it now, I may have package disabled it almost 2 years ago.
Not sure if it can do what you want.
Play with it... Samsung's are very customizable.

That particular option does what I want on phones made from different manufacturers. It seems Samsung is blocking it somewhere. I was hoping that someone would have some idea of what package blocks it so I can disable that. Perhaps that is just something that will never work, kind of like visual voicemail in the native phone app on a Samsung deice.
Why not just use Google's Messaging app, which has these features and is also pre-installed?
I couldn't easily see what is Samsung's or Google's Messages App ('Berichten' in Dutch), but both were included with OneUI 4.0. See attached picture: left is Google right is Samsung Messaging. Google allows attachments.

I think you may have misunderstood my meaning. Those apps are the only ones that work with bubbles on my Samsung phone while on other phones I can use other apps with it like Facebook Messenger.

You are right, I didn't understand the Bubble thing. Should have read better. Also I think I mixed up your thread with other in S21 + forum
Haven't tested in OneUI 4, but bubbles for FB Messenger / Signal did work for me back in OneUI 3.
Besides setting Floating notifications - Bubbles, also try FB Messenger - App info - Notifications - Notification categories - Show as bubbles - All / Selected only.
Supported apps also seem to have a little icon in the notification, I assume it allows bubbles for that specific conversation.
