Hi, any idea how can i switch from the volume buttons on the left side of the phone to brightness change ?? When i push the button above is more brightness, when i push button of bottom, then below the brightness.
Is there a special app, update or patch for this?
I hope that you understand what i saying.
Thank you in advance
(i'm speak dutch)
If you have any CM based ROM, a better alternative is to enable brightnes change by sliding your finger on the statusbar without pulling it down.
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium
but i don't have CM based rom. I have original rom, but is rooted! Alternative that you saying is good.
I just switched to maclaw's PACman ROM and I want to use the built-in android soft buttons, I want to know if there's a way to both disable the capacitive buttons themselves and the lights they have, I know it's possible using the stock ROM but I don't really want to use Touchwiz.

I just know that this feature needs a kernel modification, so you can use it only with patched kernels, not stock
Hi all! I would like to know how to enable the capacitive keys on the s3 mini with cyanogenmod 11 (KitKat). it's a bit annoying using the navigation bar (qemu.hw.mainkeys=0).
they worked with the samsung firmware e they blink for 5-6 secs after boot.
(otherwise I would like to reduce the navigation bar)
I've also notice that I don't have this file: sec_touchkey.kl under /system/usr/keylayout
Thanks for the help.

You can also enable them with Gravity box xposed module & change the size too Or use carbon rom, it has a switch for navigation bar & size.

Don't understand you very well (nav bar buttons or physical buttons!?), anyway to change their behaviour go to, system settings-buttons & choose what function you want for them.

no....the don't work at all!!! i want their functions.
The only way to emulate them is the navigation bar but it was too big (with the GB I've resized it).
I wish someone tell me how to enable this buttons that worked with the original firmware.
I already told you in the previous posts how to change their functions & how to disable or change the backlight.
I am also having this problem and there is no option in settings to enable/disable this buttons. Like edoz90 said, the buttons worked perfectly on the stock rom.
wondering if the phone has a shortcut through the hardware, like holding a button for a few secs?

I see. It has been super buggy. I do know why that is on this phone.
Some ROMs have this feature baked into settings. I've been trying to add the option under display settings by decompiling the SecSettings.apk, editing the right xml, repack and replace but having trouble... so if u don't like xposed torch settings or whatever, try SkyFall ROM. It has torchlight working perfect.
And if anyone can help with how to add it to settings apk, please let me know!

I have Skyfall ROM. The torchlight didnt work perfect for me. Sometimes it work, sometimes it doesnt. I read from here if it is a deep sleep, the torchlight will not work.
Jovy23 Rom.Darth stalker has that option, once enabled, when screen is off, you pres and hold vol+ key and the torch comes on, obviously vol- turns it off.
Xposed has a module. Issue for me is its activated holding down a volume for 2 secs....but then it disables track skipping.
