Could someone please post the latest visual voicemail. I cant pull it from a backup in titanium and would like to avoid downloading an entire ROM. I'm on GE Nocturnal which doesnt have it. Thanks

This is the apk from a deodexed 1.31 ROM. Hope this helps.

That link is no longer working. I flashed my sister's HTC one for her but she's been going crazy about the VVM not being on it and won't stop badgering me about it. Any chance you could reupload this? She's currently on the Viper 3.1.? rom.
Thanks!

yeah i've been using it for a while but i hate all the settings i have to change with the press 1 to answer and avoiding it hijacking my text messages. but then again if i'd quit decking around with vm i wouldn't have that issue. then again thats half the fun isnt it lol.

I agree I don't understand why anybody uses voicemail anymore just use Google Voice it's a lot easier and you can check your s*** on the computer too

[Q] Music Beta by Google on my Hero??

I am running CM6.2, Android 2.2 froyo on my Hero and I have a Google Music account I want to access from my Hero. Buttttt, the market won't let me install it since it says the Hero is not supported. Does anyone know where I can pick up the apk file or an alternate method to install it? Thanks.

Sign into google music beta online (assuming you got an invite). after you've signed in once using a computer browser, then installed/started syncing your computer music collection with the "music manager"
you'll be able to "sync" with the music beta app on your phone.

I'm against apple and the way it conducts things. (product price markups, closed source, among other things)
Osx in itself isn't all that bad, it's relatively easy for people to get and looks...fine. But that's about as far as it goes lol.
I will say that using adobe software -photoshop/after effects- along with a few other media software is nicer on osx than their windows counterparts. The keyboard shortcuts are more intuitive

Hey thanks
Did you have a look at BoardConfig.mk, there are a bunch of defines that are relevant to the gfx (or lack thereof). Maybe we could track within cm-7.0.3 where those defines are used. In addition I've PM'd arco on this very subject, hoping he replies soon.

I'm looking for a better ROM for my mom's Wildfire, being an Oxygen user myself I'm convinced an AOSP ROM is the way forward.. Video recording is no problem, so this looks like the perfect solution.

Downloading now. Going to try to flash it on Stock ICS (De-Odexed, Zipaligned, rooted) on a AT&T HTC Vivid. Will let you know how it goes. May take a while because I am going to do a backup first. I play Star Wars The Old Republic and use a mobile authenticator and the only way to restore it is to call them and answer a bunch of security crap then have them remove it so you can reinstall the app and re-add it to your account with a new serial number, so I'm not going to flash ANY new roms until there's a JB ROM (or, my 90 day return policy on my Vivid gets close to running out and there's no JB in sight.. then I'm switching to the One X since it's only $50 more)
---------- Post added at 04:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:48 AM ----------
Okay, it works. Well, except for the double take. I'm pretty sure that's been fixed in other versions, but I don't know if those work on the vivid.
I thought the voice didn't work at first because it would do the beep to let me know it was listening, and the chime when it found results but no voice. Turns out, the beep and chime use alert/notification volume while the voice uses media volume which I had turned all the way down.
So yeah, this works with rooted stock perfectly except for double take and saying "Google"instead of pressing the Mic

....and there goes my only reason for wanting JB. Literally for Google Now. Between this and all of the ICS-themed stuff out there, I have a perfect mix. ICS launcher (Apex), Sense 3.6 apps (peep, friend stream, etc) ICS Dialer, Calculations (what the stock ICS calculator SHOULD have been), Sense Weather, and GOOGLE NOW!
This phone already runs smooth as silk, so the only feature I was willing to abandon it for was the Siri-Stomping Google Now goodness.

This is awesome! It seems to work really well. Voice search and response seems to work just great! Only "issue" so far is that the responses give units of measure in Imperial, and being from Canada, I expect metric. This isn't an issue with the port, just with Now itself I guess.
Anyway, love it! Thanks for the hard work of all Devs involved!
PS - I flashed on Holics 1.2 using CWM.

Just FYI - this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224) thread has had a lot more progress (and is also the thread that was featured on the front page (http://www.xda-developers.com/android/google-now-with-voice-search-finally-working-on-ics/) on 8/5..don't know why another thread was needed. Look at this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856) post for instructions and flashable zips, and don't forget to check out the FAQ's (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DRq_ElLZxbTIlZ873rjSIg-p1AVfXx0QnTK2RTHOyCE)
And for anyone who wants to try it, here is our services.jar modified as per mikeyxda's suggestion here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30253248&highlight=processrecord+smali#post30253248)
Back up FIRST! then flash away (this was built from a stock ROM's services.jar so I don't know if it will work on others. Your ROM must be deodexed.)

Growl V5 for Galaxy Exhibit 4G

AOIP meets Growl = The Best of Both ROMs
This is a port of Jb 4.3.1 Growl v5 (DarkLiquid/Smooth/Gaming/Battery) Samsung Galaxy W i8150 by @ipromeh, I am using @camcory’s Team Insomnia AOIP 2.0 (4.3) alpha for Galaxy Exhibit SGH-T679 as base. I didn’t make too many changes to the ROMs as i like to give credits to the original Developers, they put so much time and efforts to gives this, Thank you
This ROM has the Camera and Gallery working with no freezes
Everything else works from the original ROMs
Installation:
Please Backup your ROM using either TWRP or CWM (i use both)
Wipe Data, Cache…etc 3rd time is always a charm
Install Growl_AOIP_4.3.1.zip (If you have a better name please let me know)
Install Google Apps for JB 4.3
Reboot and give the phone few minutes to boot

Nandroided my setup and checking this out for the hell of it. I'll report back when I get an idea of how this performs. Love the boot animation!
Far as a name change, how about "GNAoIP" (keep the "O" lowercase and "gnaw" on AOIP instead of "growl" which is harder to incorporate into one name with AOIP). Noticed the notification drawer FC fix isn't included, so anybody using this ROM will need it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46284485&postcount=1327

Well I have to say this is pretty stable and fairly fast. Unfortunately some minor annoyances are too much for me, and the sad thing is it has nothing to do with the ROM but the android version I'm sure. Latest Viper works but doesn't play well with 4.3 IMO. You can get it to work with your music players but you can't get it to work with system sounds at all. So if this app is controlling sound you won't hear any notifications/ringtones unless you turn the app off. Tried a million things but nothing changes that situation. The other problem is that ad blockers like the one @BSDgeek_Jake comes out with don't work, although maybe Crossbreeder could do the trick but it is really for 4.2. The developer has been working on a 4.3 update for 3 months. This is what is so frustrating when new android OS are released, it takes FOREVER for everything else to catch up.
Anyway nice work porting this and anybody who doesn't need some of the things I need would be pretty happy using this ROM.

on the top of the link page it has a graph, it says cyanogenmod in one column and android in another. under the android one it has 4.3,
download the one thats under the row of cm10.2 and 4.3... dont mean to sound mean but its kinda obvious
btw heres the correct one http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip

I am a noob, so I will, on occasion, ask noobish questions. what seems obvious to you wasn't so clear to me. thank you for the link. I look forward to trying it out. it will have to be pretty good, though, to beat out the other new rom we got today (I forget the name). this one's pretty nice.

Super Nexus is Tim's old ROM and it isn't being updated anymore, some people here are just discovering it for whatever reason.

back in the phone's glory days ahaha. btw did you get weird fc on the camera after flashing the settings fix for the rom?
For me everything works great, looks like a great and buttery ROM, however most of the market apps wouldn't download for me including Facebook, what's app, Google search update just to name the few. What happens is download would start for a spilt second you would see the download animation in status bar and then stops right away. Play store would show that's it trying to download forever with no result. Please help.
I have reinstalled ROM, cleared play store and download manager app restated tons of time with no luck. Thanks in advance for your help.

I am having the same problem, I am trying different combinations of files to see if that fixes it.
Maybe one of the Developers of Team Insomnia can assist us with some help to figure out what broke the play store.
@ArtfulDodger Thanks for the review, i always read your posts as they are straight to the point, I usually keep my installed ROMs the way they are, so i can say much.
Anyway, This is a try and i am sure thing will get better with time.

I had trouble with Play initially, same problem you all describe. I just hit stop on the downloads while in progress, then started them again. They downloaded fine after that. Weird but simple solution. BTW a fix for V4 may be incorporating it into the ROM. If you decide to just ask @zhuhang first.
Tried stopping and starting but no downloading of apps from playstore

Yeah, Scott has a habit of randomly stopping for a while.
Glad you picked up another build to port for us.

You may or may not know this, but the op states the *latest* Netflix is broken. Have you tried an older build of it?
I'll try myself anyways, but I won't be able to flash this for another hour it two.
Please forgive my ignorance but does double tap on and off work with this? (never used aosp on this phone)

Anyone else having it fail at about 15%? Regardless of browser.

Knock on yes. Knock off normally has it set for status bar on aosp because it does not have the frame work to knock off anywhere.
I use apex launcher and set a double tap home gesture to use screen off and lock from the play store.
And it works the same way as a stock ROM would. But it won't work on the lock screen.
So ROMs offer a setting for lockscreen knock off

Got one more then I'll disappear. I did some searching but couldn't come up with anything.
You guys have a Google plus page or anything of the sort?

Didn't fail for me. Slow download, but it worked non sossue using non beta chrome on my phone.
Try using a laptop/desktop

Build seems to be running great. Tons of options.
Pretty excited you ported this for us. Not quite sure about the Netflix deal though tried three 3.7.x versions, and tried 3.4.0 and none would work. If anyone knows of an exact version that works without using xposed, hook me up.
Other than that, beautiful ROM.

Ya its an issue the teams been hard at work on.
Edit: reboot seemed to fix it.
Didn't see in the description (unless it fall under other fearures), but is navbar configurable for long press actions also? That's normally what I use in place of double tap to sleep.
How is the GPS , signal ,battery life, does the remote app work, kernel stock and is there any other working kernels?
