The official MD3 is there, pre-rooted. Just flash that one instead.

Download the latest ics from sammobile.com
Go to cwm and wipe all..
Choose Reboot but don't let the phone boot to android so in the moment you reboot press power +volume down+home until you get to odin mode
Then flash the stock ics via odin

And that will?? Remove root from my phone and get stock ics? Will it also erase cwm?

Just download from dr Ketan's thread an ics rom for your region. Stock roms don't increase counter and if for some reason it does you can use chainfires triangle away app.
Download the zip file, extract it to tar.md5 and place that in pda section of pc odin.

how can you use Chainfire's triangle away app if the phone is unrooted?? the main goal of 'PierreTech' is to go back to stock ICS and unroot his phone.
Annyway 'PierreTech', your better off just downloading a stock non rootable GB from doc Ketan's thread (credits to the good o'l doc), here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997, post # 3 particularly.
Followed zedomax of unrooting.

we'll that's fine... as long as you get to unroot your phone successfully, then that's all that matters to it. :highfive:
Hi all,
Thinking of selling my i9000 soon (to upgrade to an S3), before I sell it. I'd like to return it to a stock rom and unroot it (currently on CM9), which stock rom should I use? How do I unroot it, and how do I remove all my personal information?
Thanks in advance
Rob

Thanks! Do I need to use a PIT and repartition? Are there any things to look out for since I'm going from ICS to GB, or is it just the same as flashing any other Odin ROM?
Sorry for all the questions
There is no problem to go back to gb from ics if you use odin.just flash it and you are done.

Excellent! I read somewhere a while back that there was, must have misread it...
Thanks!

I thought that it is not that easy because some ICS use different filesystems.
If you want to get back to gb custom rom it's difficult.odin is used to flash official firmware.

Ahh, because I would be using CWM for most custom ROMs?

There is no issue ,use odin to go back to unrooted gb and then root it and install whatever rom you want.

This one will help you. As I said it is not that easy and needs some patience from you, but you will succeed.

Yes it is, just flash an ICS ftf
Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app
EDIT,
Sorry my mistake, now I am at my PC I can see you have a V.
In which case rooting is easy..just unlock you rbootloader and flash an insecure kernel.

I'm on a stock rom that's been pre-rooted snd flashed with Odin. I have no custom recovery. Now I've just got a pop up saying that the new firmware is ready for download and installation. Will I loose root after this update? Or should I just look for a pre-rooted version of the new firmware and install that one instead?

yes you will loose root if you flash a clean stock. you can flash root.zip after
