I'm using dual pro incipio case for my ONE. The power button is inside a deep recess... I need to push the cover to touch the button... Is there any app that ll allow to avoid the use of power button all together? That ll unlock the phone using volume button?
That'll help me lock my screen without using power button?
I tried some of the apps but did not work...
Is there any tasker setting that can help?

You have to flash custom kernel which allows you to...
Sweep to wake ...double tap to wake ...sweep to unlock...etc

There are custom ROMs and kernels which can do what you ask. I doubt there is anything available if you're not rooted though..
This is my set-up - doubletap2wake + sweep2sleep..

Yes I'm aware of that kernel... I'm not in a position of rooting and meddling with my phone... I just need something that'll help me unlock the phone with volume key... I will be comfortable with a widget for locking the screen
Edit : thank you for your quick response

You can probably try Tap Tap App ( Screen On-Off ) from the Google Play Store.
One of the commenters of the app says it works on her HTC One 75% of the time and she is not rooted.

I see you have the Tab S 10.5 .
If you notice my signature tells you witch model I have witch is the Tab S 8.4

Don't the volume controls reverse when you hold the device in landscape?
If you're holding it portrait, up turns the volume up and down turns the volume down (obviously). But if you're holding it landscape, up (which is now left) turns the volume down, and down (which is now right) turns the volume up. I have my Tab S boxed up, so I can't verify, but I'm pretty sure I read that's how it works.
It's simultaneously intuitive and counter-intuitive. I think it makes sense, and I prefer it, but most device softwares don't work this way, so it can be confusing. In Cyanogenmod this is configurable. I don't know if you can adjust this in the stock settings.
I asked the same question when I just got my note 8.0. So I'm used to it with the 8.4
As I see the 8.4 is supposed to be used in portrait and the up i inctrease and down is decrease.
So in landscape increase is left, decrease is right.
Hopefully someone can help me with this. I am wanting to disable the swipe up from the bottom action that opens Google Now. I want to be able to disable to soft buttons and instead use Pie or gestures to control everything. I am not able to do that though as long as the swipe up Google Now is enabled. Any ideas?
Also, does anyone know of a way, if I swipe up, the current screen I am on will literally slide up and return to the home screen? There was a tweak for this on iPhone and it is about the only thing I miss from ios. The ability to swipe up and return to the home screen is very quick and doesn't require pushing the home button.
Thanks for the help!
Anyone have any experience with this? I'd really like to get this figured out. Thanks!
these are the options i get when i swipe up. if i choose nothing, for always not just once,, then nothing will happen when swiping up.

I don't want to disable the swipe up gesture entirely though. I just don't want it to engage Google now. I want it to slide up the current screen and return me to the home screen.

now just need an app or maybe a tasker task / other intent that invokes the home screen.

Thanks I'll have to check that out. At the very least I think that would allow me to reassign the swipe up so it opens Pie.

Did you ever want to enjoy Youtube Videos with screen Off to save your battery?
With Screen Off Keep Playing, now, you can!
_______________________________________________________________
Works very good with Amoled Screens!
Due to Android limits isn't possible to turn off completely the screen but on Amoled Screen Black = No Battery Drain!
On LCD the black screen with the lowest brightness will help a lot to save your battery anyway.
_______________________________________________________________
When you launch "Screen Off Keep Playing" the App will ask for some permission. After that, you can launch the service and the App will wait in background until you decide to run it.
Long press and release the Volume Up Button and the screen will become black, showing the logo for 10 seconds. After that the logo will disappear and the brightness set to the lower value.
Example:
- Start a Youtube playlist, long click on volume up button and the screen will go black while your video is playing! If you need the screen on again just long press the volume up button again!
_______________________________________________________________
Remember: This app works over any other apps, so not only Youtube with screen off but every app!
IMPORTANT: This App works with a key event filter so can't be used with other apps that use the same permission like, for example, any button remap app.
PRO version without ADS and more features will come in the next days!
Amazing work dude ! Gonna try this out! Thanks and keep it up!
Gonna try it! And big thanks for your works on the G Pad 8.3

Yes, i will add this option too
Hey there,
is there a way, to remove the behavior that a long press on the power-button first starts the google assistant instead of getting directly to the "power menu"? I've tried to disable it in the settings which gives me then the option to activate the assistant and unless we gain root, i assume all the bloatware can't be uninstalled
Would another Launcher (https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony-themes-apps/app-xperia-home-10-0-0-40-t3369220) fix it?
Edit:
In the System Settings under "Intelligent Support" (or something like that) there you have "Shortcuts and gestures" there you can disable this behaviour.
Best regards
Seel

You're welcome! Unfortunately you have to press the Power Button really long until the Power-Menu is seen... but this is a first world problem But atleast the Google Assistant isn't nagging around...
Anyone know of a way to remap this functionality? Eg, get holding power button to open the camera instead? I know there's the double-tap volume down shortcut, but that only works when the screen is locked and if no media is playing.
Yes, You can customize Volume button on long press behavior for example with button mapper app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton . I'm using this app to remap Netflix button on my Android powered TV's remote control and here on P30 Pro to launch camera app.

On the subject of Google Assistant, can anyone confirm this bug on their device?
Place phone in airplane mode, 'accidentally' activate Google Assistant, screen will stay on forever. I noticed this as I often leave my phone face down and plugged in on the side (it's my second device) and I came down one morning to find the screen lit. I'd obviously activated assistant by catching the power button. Luckily I don't seem to have any screen burn.
No Launchers do not change power button settings
xReply posted how can i auto "go home" (press home button ) everytime my screen off?
I want Everytime I press power button then my phone auto close current app ( like press home button) ???
// Sorry for my bad English
In Tasker, create a Profile watching for Screen off, then set Action 'Go Home' in Task.

Probably because it's MIUI. It's been working for me on multiple Pixel devices for years. You might wanna join the Tasker subreddit and see if anyone knows a way to do it on MIUI.
