Clock Work Mod Recovery v5.0.2.6 Flashable via Odin

Hello, Everyone!
This is the latest Clock Work Mod recovery version 5.0.2.6 for Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 smartphone. So, if you have got ace (I am sure you do.. LOL!) then, follow the steps carefully to flash this custom recovery on your device.

I shall not be held responsible for any damage incurred to your device.
Warning! I haven't tested if it works. Want to be the early tester? Go ahead. But, I am pretty sure it will work fine.
Requirements
Make sure you have GB 2.3 and above firmware.
Instructions
1. Download cwm-recovery-ace.tar.md5
2. Run Odin Multidownloader for Ace
3. Select One Package option at the top left.
4. Load Copper_v1.0.ops on OPS field.
5. Load cwm-recovery-ace.tar.md5 in one package field.
6. When everything is set... put your phone in download mode (Volume Down + Home + Power button) and then connect it.
7. When Odin says Detected then you are ready to press the start button.
8. Wait till the recovery it flashed and then after Odin says PASS (in top left box) you may disconnect your device.
9. Reboot to recovery mod (Home + Power button) and enjoy new recovery. You can now flash custom roms, do nandroid backups and many more.

Ok! Got your points.... But, I thought some other might prefer using Odin rather than flashing via recovery. SO, I posted it.
Also, there is another reason, you guyz don't have clear cut instructions for CWM recovery for ace ... so it will be helpful for noobs out there.

This may help when the phone boots into download mode but fails to boot into recovery mode. After flashing this via ODIN in download mode, the recovery mode may start again. Thanks man

Yup... you got some points there. After you boot to recovery then you can restore your backup and bring your phone to original state. Cheers!

could become very important when you use without having to download the official rom rom manager, and so ....

I am sure it works since I didn't do much except making it flashable via Odin (from this one which was already flashable through CWM recovery) . You can install it from here :

Is it possible to have cwm 5.0.2.8 touch flashable via odin?? A friend of mine broke volume keys (don't know how) and using touch recovery he could solve his problem but he need odin to flash it..

How to Install CWM Recovery in Galaxy Mini S5570 Smartphone?
So, let's begin. Follow instructions below to install latest cwm recovery in your galaxy mini handset.
Make sure you have got Gingerbread OS on your galaxy mini : Upgrade to GB if you don't have.
Download Odin Multidownloader v4.38 for GTS5570, Tass_v1.ops and latest Clockwork Mod Recovery if you do not have them already. You can download them from here.
Run Odin Multi downloader v4.38 and select the Tass_v1.ops by clicking OPS button.
Select One Package Option and Click One Package button and select the recovery file name (CWM-5.0.2.8-Touch2-yagya.tar.md5) file you downloaded.
Leave other settings to default (i.e. don’t change any other options/settings)
When you are done reboot your phone in download mode (Press Volume Down + Home + Power button to go to download mode)
Connect your phone in download mode to your computer via USB Cable.
When Odin detects your phone (If you see a com port number written in yellow background at the top left, then your phone is detected. View image.), click Start button.
Wait till Odin finishes the job (approx. 3-5 minutes) and when it reports ‘PASS’, you can disconnect your phone.
That's all. You have flashed latest CWM recovery on your device.

I think you misunderstood....
I know it's easy flashing an update directly via CWM recovery. I just posted these since many people asked me to do so.
I guess some users still prefer flashing recovery via Odin unlike you or me.

Not apply from CWM recovery...
I said from stock Gingerbread recovery..
Just put zip file to sd card (not in folder)
Get in to recovery then just apply update ..
No lappy or desktop needed.. No download mode..
Just bluethoot the zip to my friend, then made it...
Easyest way..

Yea, guyzz. I got you all... I know we can flash CWM updates via recovery but,
let me be clear Some guyz out there still would like to give this a try. So, can we just stay out of this. Those who need will use and those who don't will not.
Why should you or me get a headache for such a small reason?

Because you are using stock rom. You need custom roms like CM7 for this to work properly. You can get one at http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com and then try again. It will work nicely.

I got an error:
"cannot open the usb serial port. code: 2"

You will need to close Samsung Kies if you have it installed otherwise install USB drivers from Samsung and try again.

Just one question, if I reflash stock ROM on the device trough Kies, will it get rid of CWM or will I still have it?

Hi everyone. I desperately need your expertise and help please. I had Stunner ICS rom running on my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, but it seemed to be a bit of a battery drain, so I figured I'd get another rom. So before that I flashed AbyssNotekernel42CWTouchOriginalLogo.tar with PC Odin just to be safe (oh, the irony) because I wasn't sure what kernel I was on, and that was when the trouble started.
Basically, the phone cannot be booted now. I don't even see the Samsung logo screen, it's just Samsung GALAXY NOTE GT-N7000 with a yellow triangle. I tried booting into clockworkmod recovery, but cannot move the selection up or down or make any selections, so I can't even install recoveries or anything.
Is it bricked? What can I do to save my phone? Please, help!

Don't Panic. I know how it feels when you get this type of problems. Lets start to sort it out
Its because Abyss is being used to flashing roms to be on safer side.
First Switch off your phone.
Now Press Vol Up+Home+Power Button simultaneously and keep it holding all three buttons while you get into recovery mode.
Now flash a safe kernel and reboot system.
Let me know if it worked for you

Hello, thanks so much for replying! I did manage to enter recovery mode, but I'm unable to make any selections. In recovery mode, it seems like the screen refreshes every few seconds, so I cannot scroll up or down properly, much less flash any kernels...

In that case, try using your finger to make selections just like how you use a phone normally with your finger. I believe the selection keys don't work for that version.

because you will have Abyss Touch Recovery for now

Put Phone into Download Mode by pressing Volume. down+Home Key +Power Key
Flash Stock GB (Pre-rooted LC1 from Bodivas - VERY IMPORTANT )
Do all Wipes. (reset,cache and dalvik)
Flash Abyss 4.2 through Mobile Odin and not PC Odin
Again Wipe All.
Flash Stock ICS thru PC Odin
Root by Dr. ketan method
Use Triangle away app.
Done

You should test to see if the screen workswith your finger to avoid that happening again

Never Reboot the system after flashing Abyss. Just Reboot Recovery. Flash Rom,(Flash Gapps if you are going to cm9,AOKP,AOSP,etc) and then reboot system

Why you need PC Odin to flash Abyss Recovery ? You can do it with CWM. or if you want to flash using PC Odin flash GB rom(Prerooted) and then follow the procedures

Abyss is a safe kernel. The issue was that you installed abyss kernel (GB kernel) with a rom which can't work with such kernel (needed ics kernel).
After you installed abyss and getting stuck on the galaxy note screen you should have rebooted in recovery mode, do the three wipes and installed your new rom.

Oops, sorry for the noobness overload! I didn't know Abyss is a GB kernel. So I should have rebooted into recovery mode and installed the new rom immediately after flashing Abyss, or should I have used an ICS kernel in the first place?

Whenever you going o flash a new rom. follow this. (Not on CM 10)
Reboot into recovery
Flash Abyss Redpill Original Logo Recovery 4.2
Reboot Recovery
Full Wipe (Cache/Dalvik/Data)
Flash Rom
Reboot System

Download the official ics file .....then download PC Odin ......the press down volume +center button + power .......then press up......connect ur device to the PC .....press PDA ....navigate to the official ics ....which u have downloaded then press start .....wait till it shows pass ........it if the cable gets removed .....try the same procedure again ...till it shows pass

I wanted to root my note n7000 , so i started the Odin3 and choose AbyssNotekernel42CWTouchOriginalLogo
Now the phone starts with freezing screen showing Samsung logo, model number and Yellow Triangle.
I can still access recovery mode, but i dont know where to start .
I want to install the ICS Rom.

Did you read stickies ? Would you mind read this whole thread ? I said there is no need to flash Abyss via PC Odin. And for Root Why you flashed Abyss ? Abyss is to be used when you are on ICS and want to flash a New Rom . Since GB roms are safe to flash There is no need to flash Abyss on GB Roms.
Which rom version you are on ? Know it or not ?
If you know the version then download stock GB kernel from here

Use PC Odin to flash. I recommend to use Odin v1.83 or 1.87 to flash.
It will be fine.
First do this and Wipe Cache/Dalvik in Recovery if you face any problems after flashing by going to recovery mode.

Excuse my little experience, i always read online before doing anything, thats why i have only 5 posts since 2006. My BIG mistake is i followed instruction from another website. i guess im paying for this now.
My problem now is : I dont know which version of GB I had on the N7000, I buy it from Dubai. I tried to download the Kernel from the stock GB kernel link you provided but the link is broken .
I searched alot and couldnt find any .

I just flashed T-Mobile firmware and i got bootloop. It's not CWM bootloop. I can go in download mode but i can't go in recovery. I don't know what to do, and help will be appreciated.

What can I do wrong? I putted MD5 in PDA and flashed.

I tried to flash CWM and diffirent firmwares but no luck.

As I know, the one package file of extension (.tar.md5) is placed under One Package field & not in PDA.
Also u need an ops file which should be placed under OPS field.

I was flashing before like this, everything was fine. There must be a way to fix this.

Nobody? Is anything possible with adb or fastboot?

Hello, I'm having exactly the same problem. I went back to stock from cm10, but now I have a bootloop (boots until samsung logo and reboots.)
I think I just need to wipe data, but I can't access recovery. I even flashed cwm a few times and flashed the stock rom with a pit file, but I'm still stuck on samsung logo.
So, any help?

How did you do it, I cannot install adb drivers for some reason, I went back from CM10.1 to stock but now it just keeps repeating boot animation. Please help.

Hi, I had exactly the same problem, flashed the stock firmwire but it gets stuck on samsung logo, flashed few CWMs but nothing. I really didn't know what to do, then my battery became critical so i connected it to the pc and let it charge. While charging, I tried to acces the CWM recovery (home+volume up+volume down + power) and BAM! It opened recovery, I deleted all user data, cache and factory reset, rebooted and it worked.

Try to flash stock rom

Flashing stock rom didn't work.

Hi All,
I was struggle with bootloop issue for 3 days. I got my problem when I forgot to wipe phone returning ROM 10.2 to stock rom. Before I didn’t have any problems with getting to recovery mode but after I was not able to get to CWM. Also did try (vol+) (vol-) (home) hold while odin reset all I get RUMDAMP ARM9. Same when trying to hold recovery combination while normal boot. I have no problems with getting to Download mode.
Phone show Samsung animation and then vibrate once, pause, vibrate twice.
What work for me.
Recovery Combination = (vol+) + (vol-) + (home) + (pwr)
1. With odin 3.04 (don know if version matters I hade SS_DL.dll in same folder as odin) I install cwm-6.0.3.3-b2-jena.tar.md5
2. It restarted and get boot loop again
3. When I hold recovery combination phone didn’t boot. But what did I remove battery plug it again. Press (pwr) and immediately (maybe 0.5 sec) I hold rest of the recovery combination. Phone boot and show me logo so I release the buttons. To my surprise I did boot to CWM. (don’t know way but I didn’t do wipe immediately but I restart did try it again to be sure if this works – and it did, at least for me)
Rest was easy (WIPE Factory Reset, Cache, Dalvik Cache and just in case fix permission) restart and did boot to Stock ROM. For some unknown reason now I can normally CWM just buy holding combination and releasing as soon as Samsung logo show up.
I hope this will help somebody.

pleeees tell me how u fix it my phone hase the same proplem u had can u

please help me

i forgot to wipe my phone before wiping with odin and unplugged it and restarted it after it failed to flash, how can i fix this dilemma please??

if you did not wipe your phone before flashing stock rom then it is alright coz you can always redo it. From what you have mentioned, it sounds like you disconnected your phone in the middle of flashing process? Check if you can get into recovery mode and do the wipes (be on safe kernel) and then check if you can get into download mode and start the flashing process again. Never disconnect phone while flashing ROM.

i disconnected it when the odin gave me fail, because i remembred i forgot to wipe the data and cache, when i restarted the phone and tried going into the pholz kernel a message on a black screen tells me to connect to kies recovery on pc

i cant see to go into recovery again :S only custom rom download mode

when you press the volume up+power+home button you get recovery and if you can get into recovery check to make sure it is philz recovery and not the stock recovery, if it is stock recovery then flash the philz kernel (zip file) again and if you cannot get into recovery mode at all, just see if you are able to get into download mode (volume down+power+home) connect to computer, open pc odin (com ID:somenumber should show up) put the tar.md5 in PDA and start.

Can you not create multiple threads for the same issue please. Seeing as this one has replies I've deleted the other one.

ok ill try flashing again, but remember i havent wiped anything because i cant seem to get into any recovery, i already had the philz custome recovery installed but now when i try opening it it says instead of getting me the recovery that firmware updae interrupted connect to kies recovery.
ill try flashing aain and tell u how it goes

As i mentioned it is alright that you did not wipe anything, just flash the rom again and then philz kernel , do the wipes and you can do this process again, it hardly takes an hour for this whole process.

yes its flashing thank god, i thought i had bricked it or something. ill just flash the safe kernel and do the wipes, then will repeat the odin process again. thanks a dozen (Y):good:
