zip file to fix 4.2.2 partitions - Sprint HTC One (M7)

hi, I am about to flash a 4.2 .2 rom and I remember hearing there was a zip you could flash that would fix the partitions for you. Does anyone have it? What's the appropriate way to use it?

I don't recall it. In fact, there's like two posts a day involving people who flash 4.2 international One roms and **** there **** up. If you have the intention of flashing an international 4.2 rom, you might wanna rethink it.

there's a zip if you are going from 4.2.2 back to 4.1,2, but i don't know of one going to 4.2.2

Sorry guys I found the zip. It was one to revert back after going to 4.2.2. And no worries, I don't mess with international roms. Just our 4.2.2 sense port from flex.

[Q] Stock rom for CWM?

I was having trouble searching using the stock browser so I just created a new thread. Is there a way to flash to stock using cwm for people who want to flash a new rom but aren't at their computer?
No only Odin. Questions go in Q & A
I find it hard to believe that there is no way to flash to stock from CWM. There has to be a way to make JH6 or something like that into a ROM that I can flash. Some way to restore to out of the box condition without a computer. I hate talking like this because I dont develope anything, and thinking that it is easy is quite nieve.

Bad information! You have to search Development thread a bit, it's been awhile so the answer is buried. It's not JF6 but close enough.

[Q] Little help

Wow I feel like a horse's ass for asking this but it's probably been a year since the last update I flashed, and I've googled and googled for info but I'm googled out. I also checked the dev section but I dont see what I'm looking for so forgive my stupid question: I'm getting the incessant 2.3.6 OTA notification so I need to update to 2.3.6, I'm on 2.3.4 I think it's a stock version. I tried flashing the 2.3.6 update zip that i downloaded, that didn't work and from what I think I remember that was a stupid thing to try anyway. I'm pretty sure I'm looking for a full 2.3.6 stock rom/build/zip, but I've had no luck in my search. Basically I just want the latest rooted full stock rom to flash. My bootloader is unlocked or I would honestly just unroot and install the OTA, I've no use for root anymore anyway. Can anyone throw me a bone? Thanks

or
if you want back to stock, flash this (in recovery or in HBOOT as PASSIMG.ZIP, whichever way you want):

All the guides for flashing are in the Wiki, please read before further questions. Thanks.

Awesome, I appreciate your help

So let me get this straight...

I recently upgraded my Note to official ICS (OTA) and I'm not liking it AT ALL! Now I really want to get far away from this update as possible and I'd like to switch to a CM9 nightly Rom. I've that now that I have upgraded to the official ICS Rom, I run the risk of super bricking my device. So now I ask you to help me make sure the following is correct so that I may move on from this wretched update:
DO NOT perform wipes if you are on original Samsung ICS
DO NOT perform wipes if you are on a original Samsung kernel??
Flash back to original Gingerbread Rom using odin BEFORE flashing to CM9
Flash to different kernel??
I've flashed millions of Roms but this one is scary and I just want to make sure haven't missed anything... Have I?
Thanks for you help!!
John J
Just flash a stock directly rootable GB rom, root and put CM9 on it. Then do a factory reset and you're good to go. Went that way few times already.

Thanks a lot man!! This is pretty much what I thought but I wanted to make ABSOLUTE sure! Cheers!

So is the super-brick BUG on the official ICS OTA?? OMG
And yeah go back to gingerbrear via odin, get root then flash any CM9 tru CWM no problems...
I'd like to do something similar to what the OP wants to do however I have rooted and installed CWM on an official/stock ICS rom. So if I wanted to flash back to a stock gingerbread rom would I need to remove CWM and/or un-root?

There is no need to unroot first. You can flash stock GB rom directly via Odin.
I've now flashed to GB but before I move on to a CM9 nightly, do you recommend I flash the CM9 kernel as well? Seems like it is not a prerequisite but I would like to make sure. Thanks.
John J
afaik, when flashing a CM9 Nightly, the eligible kernel is built in, so no need to flash anything but the ROM.
i'm on one of imilkas first CM9 port and it says [email protected] #1 under Kernel version in settings.
Yes. The correct kernel is included in the nightly.

[q] a less than intelligent queston regarding leaked update and offcial with flashing

Okay, I am new to this locked bootloader and safestrap stuff so please bare with me.
I am on an official 4.4.2 NC2 rooted Att Note 3.
The question is: Can I install the roms that are based off the leaked firmware? It seems pretty stupid but ooooh well.
I assume I can since the leaked update is still "signed" or whatever it is called.

Hey,
If you heard of any success stories why not? The only thing, if someone unlocked the bootloader tomorrow (Which i don't see happening anytime soon), you might be locked because with every firmware, I feel they try to lock down the device more, so if someone is close, you might be stuck!
Since you're on NC2, if it is based on the NC2 you should be fine, just make sure you backed up everything. Because I had an issue with restoring to stock NC2 read thread below.

You can always make a slot and install the rom without touching the stock. Safestrap should not modify your modem and firmware "Odin does".

firenote... im new to all of this... ive been jailbreaking iphones for a while... this is a little more advanced...
Just remember to use the right version of safestrap for your phone there is one for jb and one for kk also you can't mix and match roms with firmware if your phone has jb you can only flash jb roms and if you are on kk you can only flash kk roms since you are new to this I would suggest you do a lot of reading first
