I have a newbie question about flashing and restoring back to stock, this is my first HTC I had Samsung galaxy before pretty easy restore to stock with odin, but htc is different, if I was to unlock bootloader on my Rogers HTC One, and one day decided to go back to original, which RUU file do I flash that restores stock firmware and recovery? and I have to relocked bootloader before flashing ruu?

You'll be fine with your bootloader unlocked to flash an RUU, but unfortunately, there is not an RUU for Rogers right now. The closest thing I can find is a CWM Nandroid backup here. You should be able to use this and return to stock, however it might re-lock your bootloader, but that's easy to fix, just unlock again. Hope this helps.
If I flashed the nandroid thur cwm, how to restore stock recovery incase I need to return to Rogers for repair ?

As a quick FYI, I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to get the stock RUU update to flash my HTC Raider. I played around with a custom ROM and wasn't too happy with it, but stupidly I didn't backup my stock rom with CWM... Lesson learned!
Anyways, if you are trying to go back to stock and are hitting Error 155 during the RUU Update, try re-locking the bootload with "fastboot eom lock". I tried this today and the stock firmware flashed on first try and I'm back to the good old Bell bloat!
Hope this helps anyone!
Hi I was trying to make a rom and ended up in a bootloop, so i made a mistake and flashed the boot.img from the android sdk folder to my raider and now I can't get into hboot, but with adb can get into cwm. i did have a backup and can restore the backup.
now when the restore is complete i try to restart and the phone hangs at the htc logo, then the screen turns black. phone never boots.
any ideas on what might fix this?
Thanks

Can you get back into HBOOT now that you did the restore?
I'm by far no expert but I'm curious if you can get back to HBOOT if you can put it into fastboot, re-lock the bootloader (fastboot oem lock) and then use the RUU to restore back to stock. That should fix the boot image and I you then can start the process over again by unlocking and playing.
That's what I did and I'm back to a non-bricked phone. You can get the Holiday (aka Raider) RUUs by searching these forums. Just download the one for your carrier.
Good luck

This guide will walk you through the steps of unlocking, rooting, backing up, etc.
Unlocking through HTC Dev will show on the device that it has been unlocked but if you wish to go the whole way and s-off following this guide you can unlock and if you have to relock at a later stage it can be done without leaving any trace.
Before you do any of this though read all you can about unlocking and s-off.
hi my version main is 2.24.61.1 orange uk i updated to 4.2.2 sense rom before i rooted.
i am now looking to unroot & revert back to stock & wondering do i need to find the same rom or can i go back down to 4.2.1 or an older rom?
or can i just use any UK htc one m7 stock rom to revert back to factory settings?
i also did a backup of my stock rom before i changed my rom using TWRP, could i just use that to go back to stock?

Yes, but depending on what recovery you backed up with TWRP, you might need to also flash the stock recovery.img if you're looking for that to. You might want to re-lock your boot loader also.. Depends on how 'stock' you want it to be.
In short, restoring your backup will get you back to stock ROM and unroot (if you were unrooted when you backed it up)

so you are RELOCKED and want recovery...ain't gonna happen
you have 2 choices:
locked------no recovery
unlocked----yes recovery
you can NOT have recovery while bootloader is locked

Yeah your wrong or confused. You have to be unlocked for a CUSTOM recovery. The OP is looking for stock recovery.
@OP
On one of mike's sticky posts on the one forum should have the stock recovery on it.

What SW version are you on, i you are S-ON you cannot flash a lower version than the one already installed on your phone, it has to be a similar or higher version, plus it has to be precisely for your Model or it will fail.
The only option is to restore stock ROM Backup through TWRP and flash stock recovery...

Hi,
All steps are explained in detail here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-mini-2/general/stock-ruu-rom-recovry-htc-one-mini-2-t3250020
You need to have TWRP installed to restore Nandroid backup.
