Is there a way to back up the stock browser from an SGS running Froyo, and then install it on my SGS running Gingerbread?
I desperately want to get a browser back that doesn't have the scroll bug.
Cheers.
Try just changing ROM most of them have hacked one and it doesn;t have bugs
I've just downloaded 10.3 flash off the market. I'm on unbranded unlocked from new i9000, it's now on 2.2.1, and the only web page I get the bug effect is on the xda i9000 overview main page, and nowhere else. Hardware excelleration ?
Hi every one , iam new to flashing but I trained to flash like 10 times , I went from stock 2.1 to gingerbread 2.3.4 and then downgraded to 2.3.3 after having problems with F1 GS2 V6 , now I need a very solid rom because I can't see any difference between 2.1 an 2.3.3 or 4 they both lag now after flashing JV6 I found that my music plays at a veryyyyyyyyy bad quality if I raise the volume more than 8 the quality is horrible., the browser laggs , boot animation is veryyyy laggy and even the audio is out of sync from video , when I scroll in contacts list it doesn't seem smooth but laggy and slow , same for music player and any other list that has scrolling , I need u guys to tell me what's the reason for all this lag although iam on speedmod kernel , I tried darky's rom and I didn't like it same for crystko or w/e named , heow can I fix this lag and this weird sound problem? I also tried re flash but no fix , plz also tell me or recommend to me the best rom and custom rom and I will do as u guys tell me thxxx and iam very frustrated
Why don't you try a stock unrooted 2.3.4 JVQ for a while and see how that goes, before diving into custom roms?
You can d/l one from here samfirmware
i will look into that , but iam trying to get the best because i want to stabalize and start to customize my mobile , i need to re import my contacts and live normally ! :S
i also want to fix this sound problem iam afraid that the problem may be hardware but .... i don't think so
also JVQ has browser issues and needs to be fixed
I have very laggy browser , iam using Miui Rom Latest one for SGS
after despreate tries with Allll roms like darky's , jeuwe's , f1 gs2 v6 , surface
i have tried many base roms aswell ! , JVP , jvq , jvr , jvh , jvo
they ALLLL give the same SH*TTy resultus a laggy browser, pinch to zoom shows pixels and it looks choppy laggy , Dolphine HD browser is even worse
basically any thing that is related to scrolling or zooming , is NOT smooth , iam running stock miui and i have tried many kernels for miui .....alllll give the same results .... just uglier colors , also i have tried the over clocking using voltage control app..... set it to 1200 Max , and 1300 , NOT EVEN 1 DIFFERENCE ....... COME ON what the heckkkkkk should i do now iam desperate i have tried every thing u could imagine , and i have tried clearing dalvik cash, cash partitions , system format , factory reset ...........
hardware problem ???? from what !???? all i do is charge my phone !
i have came from STOCK eclair 2.1 directly to 2.3.4 gingerbread , nenver went on froyo , iam now on STOCK miui 1.8.26 and stock kernel , Base JVR
i will do ANYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY THING to fix it ANY THING i have been suffering lagg since forever
Try zeus core ultimate rom. It has got a very good browser
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
it will not help , i have tried all roms
If for lag you mean the grey squares i think it can't be solved but try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212796 or this with zeus core http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=699227&d=1314205439

Thx for your concern and reply . i don't know what's deodexed , but all i know is that i have this lag on every rom i get they are all STOCK , downloaded from samfirmware directly are they deodexed ????
now i flashed miui rom on a jvr 2.3.4 stock ( which had surface rom ) i guess miui replaced it ! , i ran a factory reset and cleared cashes and dalivk cash.
iam sure if i flashed your rom i will still get lag , because all roms are fast , every one tells me , flash " something " it's veryyyy fast !! no lag ! , i flash it ......and boom , same lag in the same place !
unelss you mean flash tornado rom then flash over it a miui ( if it's possible lol )
I think you have to use another browser then. I think that the problem of stock browser can't be fixed. Try dolphin or opera (very happy if i'm wrong)

i Tried alll of them
Firefox, dolphine HD , stock , boat , miren
all same behavior , they just look 15 FPS
Im using insanity cm36 and it has best stock browser I have tried so far.
No gray squares and pretty smooth.
I use Rahul's Jetpack 8.1 ROM and its AMAZING ! the best !
but one problem i have , is that i can't download anything from the browser , not files, not zips, not pictures,
i always get 'download unsuccessful'
is that a known issue? will using a 3rd party browser from the market will solve it ?
thanks
try using Firefox or opera
Can I install the ICS browser on a gingerbread ROM ? if yes , where can i get it ?
Try using Dolphin Browser HD.
Ok but is it possible to install ICS browser on 2.3.6 curtom rom ?

the lag shouldn't be there.. but if you are facing any such issues try reflashing.. if that doesn't help, instead of overclocking why not use some other browser like opera or dolphin etc..
