Hi guys,
I have a quick query. This week, I downloaded and flashed the Android Revolution HD Rom for my HTC One and also flashed the aroma mod to have the htc logo be used as an option button. After flashing the rom, I noticed that I could no longer add new gmail accounts to my mail app through the "accounts and sync" option in my settings. The option to add new accounts is just gone, and I am wondering if it has something to do with the fact that I've flashed a new rom. Does anyone know if Android Revolution HD has any drawbacks like it locks you in to using only the apps native to HTC or something like that? I really don't know what the problem is or if this has been an issue that was there since before I flashed the rom and only noticed today. If anyone else has had this issue and resolved it, could you reply and write what you did to solve it? I am also open to suggestions, so please suggest as much as possible. Thanks every one.

Did you do a full wipe when you installed? Also, what recovery are you using?
To answer your question, No there is no sort of "limitation" on any apps at all. You can use whatever apps you please

The issue you have is not due to ARHD and there are no limitations at all (other than Android base compatability as with all roms) on the apps you can install. I suggest you reflash selecting wipe in the installer and see if this fixes your prob but don't use the HTC logo mod just in cas this is the cause.
Good idea but the issue was much simpler

So the solution was very similar to this one. First I kept messing around in the settings window and after tapping on the + in the upper right and then tapping everywhere, I was finally able to find out that to add a new account to my gmail I just had to tap on the google logo after tapping on the + in the upper right. Another thing that helped a lot was clearing the data for the gmail app. Thank you for your response @rider5512 :good:

I'm attempting to install the new voice search app released by Google.
You should try uninstalling the old version before installing the new one.
yeah, this issue flooded the forums a few days ago, you can use titanium backup to uninstall the old one, restart, then install the new one. This is nothing unique to your phone anone with CM6 and wanted the new voice search had this issue.
ummm if you installed the latest cyanogen ROM, it already comes with the new updated voice search apps. there's no reason to attempt to install it again.

If you have a Google account & your contacts are synced with it all you have to do is go to settings then accounts & sync & make sure you're logged in then check the option to sync contacts. ....I believe all this is correct. Hope that helps
ok i unsynced and resync my google account and the same thing happens.
uncheck the sync contacts then recheck it to get the full sync. atleast that's what I did and it worked for me

Hey, guys. I'm relatively new to the custom ROM scene, I've been using MavROM for a bit, and it was pretty sweet. But recently it's started crashing in some larger applications (plants vs zombies for example. but that's neither here nor there).
I suppose first I should clarify that I have a Verizon Droid 3 XT862 with Hashcode's Safestrap 3.10 installed. (which is really cool!)
I did some googling, and many suggest that I give AOKP a try. I downloaded KEXEC-JB-aokp_solana_unofficial_Nov-04-12.zip, KEXEC-cm-10-20121103-UNOFFICIAL-solana.zip, and KEXEC-cm-9-20121108-UNOFFICIAL-solana.zip. But here's the thing that confuses me, I've tried all three of them, and they all seem to run fine, but they all seem exactly the same. I was under the impression that these custom ROMs contain no added bloat or unnecessary apps, but all three come with an NFL app, and Blockbuster app, and a few others I can't seem to remove. And in the case of KEXEC-JB-aokp_solana_unofficial_Nov-04-12.zip, does the JB in the filename mean that it's meant for JellyBean compatible phones, or will it upgrade my phone to JellyBean? My phone still says it's running android version 2.3.4, and looks exactly the same as the stock GB OS it came with out of the box. So what's so JellyBean about it?
Am I missing something? Also, what's the difference between the versions I've tried? They all seem exactly the same in terms of cosmetics and functionality, but at the same time aren't bringing anything to the table that my old stock ROM didn't do.
Sounds like ur still booting into stock rom. You have to change rom slots in safestrap.

You're right! Thanks! That didn't occur to me, I had initially tried installing it using safestrap 2.10, but I guess I needed 3.05.
Another question, I now have AOKP installed in my second slot, and it boots fine. But I'm not able to access the play store, and I only see options to setup my Mail and Exchange accounts, but neither of them will let me hit Next to progress to the next step after inputting my password. I'd like to add my Google, Facebook, and Exchange accounts to get all my contacts back, but those don't appear to be options. I chose the Nova Launcher if that makes any difference. Was there a separate app package I was supposed to install with AOKP? I read that the CM series requires a separate package. Is AOKP like that?

Running 5.6.0 Trickdroid ROM for my Sprint HTC One
All is well, very smooth and plenty of useful features to use over stock 1.29 version.. One minor annoyance:
When I launch messages and attempt to get into the notifications within the settings menu it comes up with a message "Unfortunately, Messages has stopped" Which leaves me with no choice then to use the default ringtone it has because I cannot access that particular menu and change it to anything else.
Now here's my question:
Is there an alternate way or method of changing the text message ringtone outside of the messages menu itself? I have already attempted to clear cache and data, as well as defaults. Options?

You can use the Settings --->Sound--->Notifications option. This will make whatever you set your default for all notifications including text messages.
That didn't work, my default ringtone is still that offensively loud "lime" sound. I think that used to work on the older Androids, but not this one. Maybe there is a way to fix the error? Or maybe a download of the stock "messages" app so I can replace it?

In titanium back up wipe data for messages app. Then go back to the messages, you will have no problem changing the sound.

It might but considering all the AOSP-related bugs lately, I'd advise against flashing it at the moment. Unofficial ROM support + bad AOSP is...not a nice mix.

Trickdroid isn't an AOSP rom. It's a sense rom. In any case, latest version doesn't work for sprint. OP is probably running an older version prior to the rom jumping to 4.2. OP, were you able to fix FC?

Wow. Brain must have stopped working. XDA should have a setting that prevents you from posting in the morning. -_-
Hello
Yesterday I finally decided to mess up with my phone, and I've installed miniCM v5.1 ROM + GAPPS from the proper topic here on forums and modified kernel which boosts my phone's clock to 825MHz. Everything works marvelous, phone is responsive like never etc, but the problem is Youtube isn't working.
I've tried installing GAPPS again, I've reinstalled YT again, I've also tried downloading Flash 11, but it says it's not compatible with my device, so I installed it manually from *.apk file. It installed correctly, but still YT doesn't work. It's not like it doesn't work at all, there is no video/sound. I can see all comments and information, but movie window has error message saying the "problem occured while trying to play" or something. And it happens for every movie I tried.
I am using: miniCM v5.1 + GAPPS provided in link in proper topic, NOPE Kernel v2.6 825MHz.
I will be very thankful for any help you guys can provide.
Also thanks for warrior1208 for his work with miniCM, Hasoon2000 for awesome app that made possible for me to install this stuff and me4488 for providing us overclocked Kernels

The problem ain't with the gapps or rom, youtube is not included in gapps provided in minicm 10 forum...

BTW, thanks for trying out my rom...

Well, I'm really lookinf forward to the next update you stated that is going to be released later in march. I'm using your ROM because it has everything I need to customize my phone. One suggestion I'd like to give: a dialpad is too large, if you try to put first letters (T9 method of looking for contact) it shows only 1 record and then you have to expand the list manually and chose proper contact you wish to dial. Would it be possible to make this dialpad smaller, like native android dialpad which is used to type?
The only things I've installed to your rom was ES File Explorer which replaces CM file explorer, and ClockQ for clock on home screen. I'm still looking for better music player tho, Apollo doesn't seem to be well designed, I wish I could use stock HTC Player as I did on Sense. Also you could consider adding AppHider tool to be preinstaled which would help a lot of people to hide unneeded icons from the Drawer.
I also don't like having two launchers installed. I'm using the Trebuchet 0.2 at the moment as I didn't like the other one very much. You should stick with one in my opinion. I wish Trebuchet had some more options tho, like modifying the unlock button orientation on the ring :S
Anyway, thanks a lot, I'm finally happy with my Desire, no freezes and everything seems so smooth. I will try to donate after I get my payment, but it won't be very much as I live in quite poor country

Adding things like apphider would make the rom sluggish... I would try to change the dialer and the apollo music player is the default cm10 player...
