What if there was a way, we could make android learn from the face unlock images automatically everytime we unlock our phones using our face?
This will make life so much easier as it would be self learning if this is true.
So what do you think? Is it a good idea? Is it possible?

Well, i guess not because when i unlock it several times in the same condition, sometimes it doesn't recognize me... sometimes it does.

There might be a way.. But when it does learning it takes a lot longer, when it just does scan/comparison its much faster.. so that make your unlocking process much slower than it already is. Plus you can just go into settings and do the improve face matching manually.. if you do it a few times in different scenarios it should be fine..
It doesn't really make sense. If it recognizes you, then it'll unlock, and if it doesn't, then it won't. In the settings when you add more photos of yourself to improve face matching, you add some pictures that don't look like you, but really is you.
In your hypothetical scenario, when the face unlock doesn't recognize you, it'll add your photo for future learning, but it could even be your friend or anyone else, and it'll add it into the program.

see that's where you're wrong, I'm saying that when it DOES recognize you, it improves itself. If it doesn't, it won't do anything.

Actually his point makes a lot of sense. If it DOES recognize you, it doesnt need to be improved, and that particular situation/picture won't help because its already being recognized.. it won't make it any better, cause the data it already has is enough for it..
if it is self learning, we won't ever use the improve button... i can't explain any better, sorry.

im not entirely sure that development even started for the focus s
which is a shame as its a beast of a device, ive asked questions to the gods that be on XDA dev to see if they could even point us In the right direction to playing with this amazing device, unfortunately they have all ignored me.
So I believe as it stands, they don't want to do anything with it as its got a very small user base, and they dnt want to help us so we can do it either.
but still, least its interop unlocked and unlock tools works with it!
This makes me deeply sad inside. It is a sensation like the one you feel when seeing a perfectly good cake being thrown in the garbage.

I am to scared to do the Samsung Update in fear of losing my unlock access. I guess I will be going to the Nokia 920 because I think the user base will be large. This device has been solid for me besides the speaker his when I take a picture.
If the device is fully functional, an you make a backup, applying the Samsung update is fine, but make sure you re apply the relock prevent app, id also strongly suggest you try to restore a backup image as well just to make sure it works!. So make a backup, copy it to a safe location, install some app, then restore your backup, the app you installed should be gone!if that works double check your still interop unlocked, apply Samsung update, DO NOT lose your previous backup an do not apply any OS updates to your phone with out first restoring to your backup! IE remove the Samsung update first!

you can open it up and take a look for your self, to be honest, there is only a couple of noticeable reasons for doing so, the biggie is the keyboard lag issues, there is also an increase in audio volume. looking at the files, it also updates the ROM its self, so hard resets will give you tango rather than Mango
(NOTE_resettng is a really bad idea, if you reset your device, you probably wont be able to restore from a backup and you may end up stuck with it being locked!)
drivers and some apps receive updates.
To be honest, i wouldn't bother, unless the keyboard lag issue is too much for you ( kinda fixable if you turn off keyboard sounds) or the audio is too low an the popping drives you mad, the whole thing feels better but its marginal at best.

I am sure many of us are experiencing the annoying auto brightness bug on our Nexus 7 that got introduced with version 4.2. Please go to the link below and vote for this issue (star it), as it doesn't seem to be on Google's radar right now more votes will definitely put it there. Thank you!
[Edit] looks like I don't have enough posts to add links yet. Can someone please post a link to issue 39841 on code.Google.com for me?
Auto-brightness has never worked right on any Android-device I have ever owned, it's the first thing I always turn to manual, and I doubt that'll change anytime soon.
If it were up to me, I would remove it from Android altogether.

Agreed. On my aging HTC Wildfire, still running FroYo, I have Auto-brightness disabled.
On my Nexus 7, I have both Auto-brightness and PRISM/SmartDimmer disabled.
...and I doubt the supposed battery saving benefits of either are much to get excited about...

Not that's been highlighted in the reviews at this moment. I doubt this will be something available when the device launches, but we can be hopeful that HTC will add this feature. I doubt it will happen, but it's good to be hopeful.

I'm sure it's capable, but there's the interest of doing it that the developers need to have before something like this takes flight. If you could find a developer that is interested in making it happen, then it could be possible. But to be honest, it's really too early in the game to start worrying about it. Still need to start with S-OFF, rooting, custom recovery, ROMs, kernels, etc. If any developer on here could chime in and give their input???
Why on earth would one want to use both cameras simultaneously? I'm not sure there would be a real world use for this. Can anyone think of any?

My sentiments exactly, that's more of a novelty feature than it is useful. It's just something for the manufacturer to day the can do out. Just like 3D cameras and dual screens it's a novelty. In glad sprint decided top keep the phone as it was designed. All I hope for is for HTC to do a better job of realising sources on a timely matter an a quick upgrade to 4.2.2

I'm sure some app developer will create an app that mimics Samsung's functionality. It just seems like a farfetched idea so no one has thought of or even undertaken the development of such an app yet.
Keep your eyes on the play store and the forums, I'm sure one will pop up soon (If not already).

I have rooted and flashed more times than I can count, even if I take my shoes off, except for the Mega. (stooped bootloader)
having a few minor issues with my Mega and have been given the option to trade in. even with its issues, I love the real estate of 6.3 inches. who wouldn't right?
once you feel the girthyness, a 5.? screen just doesn't cut it.
so in the store I discovered the Flex and was surprised to find out it is a 6 inch screen. that I can deal with.
I have been doing some reading here as to the satisfaction with the device. I do trust the majority of folks here on XDA and would like to solicit even more feedback. maybe some inclination as to the possible future of development here.

I can attest to the awesomeness of the screen real estate for sure! It is a 720p screen so keep that in mind, but videos and pictures do not suffer bc of it.. I absolutely love the way it feels in hand, in pocket, and during a phone call. This is the first phone I've used that I can pinch between my shoulder and cheek, and not have someone complain because they can't hear me anymore.. The phone is only lacking in one area, IMO, and that would be the lack of integration of the screen.. The lock screen effect is cool, but I'd like to see that utilized in menus, Chrome, Google Now and the like..The battery is a damn monster, no doubt about it! I easily get two days worth of use and 6 hours screen time every charge cycle!

I recognise your avatar from the Note threads, or was it the Infuse? Although I havent seen it in a while.
As stated, I did see and have read 2 or 3 post with the like or dislike agenda in the threads. I am also aware if the many threads that exist in the context of "what is the best rom".
The future of the development was intended to be the main question. I got the Mega in hope of a real future in development for the phone and now it is all but dead, for At&t variation that is. I was attempting to not walk down that road again.
With your experience here and a recognized face sort of speak, I tbought that your XDA experience, and others alike, might see that and offer the valued insight I seek.
But I thank you for your very predictable response.

It's an awesome phone. Like LG's software better as well. Runs smoother than my note 2 and feels better in the hand. I honestly don't think you go wrong if you decide on this phone. Best thing to do is go to a store and test it out. Worse case you have 14 days to test drive it, just need to pay the 50$ restocking fee.
Personally haven't felt the need to root this beast yet. It does amazing out of the box.

I hated that as well lol. There is the option to swipe the bottom row keys to the right or left. It might help some, but I found that it becomes a nuisance after a while. I was in your boots as well and did make the switch to the N3 and am happy. I miss the curve and a few small nuances of the Flex, but I don't regret switching.
Pretty sure the G2 xposed app lets you shrink the nav bar so you won't hit the button by mistake. LG needs to have that option with stock.

Sick of this damn call timer when trying to use other apps during a call.
Although that there isnt the main reason why I'm getting rid of this phone, I'll go ahead and add it to the ever growing list of reasons why I'm dumping it and getting a Nexus 6. Screw LG and their locked down pile of garbage. Sad thing is, it's so much wasted potential.
I love it when a new device comes out, and XDA becomes riddled with whiney posts about "this" or "that" which users say they 'hate' or 'can't stand'. Okay, so there's no publicized root method yet, deemed safe for consumerism, but once that's released I'm sure that every little quarky nuance will have a method to remove, hide, or alter in some way. The call timer has an option for hiding in the LG G3 via G3 Tweaksbox. With that example, I stand confident that this phone will have some type of similarities to, as I mentioned, "deal" with the things people complain about. Fact is, this phone is not impressively different from the G3, and there are no real profoundly engineered improvements made in the G4. You may ask, "Apex, y u bye did fone den?" Good question. My answer is this, I like LG's products and I appreciate the work developers are able to do, in order to make something good, great. So, in the meamtime, until root is available, you won't hear me having a hissy fit about (insert whatever) things. Samsung isn't for me, HTC is bunk, Motorola, well... been there, done that. I think most folks would respect those complaints be made on Reddit, or somewhere besides the place that developers afford us the grace of enjoying what they do for the community, free of charge.

Because clicking a check box to unlock the bootloader is so hard. Root takes time on all modern devices.
Hahaha... Now root being available, I've installed debloated ROM and 3000mah battery serves me really well. Not to mention boost in speed as well. On stock ROM, I was missing my nexus 5 so much.

What's funny is that the current root methods as dangerous as they are. Are no more dangerous then when I had my Evo4g, and that team didn't have something like "OEM Unlock" to make it easier. No risk, no reward.
Not to mention that you can drag that icon anywhere on the screen so i dont see how it can be so intrucive during other app usage. Also why dont you just talk on the phone, your on a call, pay attention and stop playing with other apps, real easy
