Port Blinkfeed from sense launcher - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know if theres a way to port blinkfeed to GE rom or cyanogenmod?

No not at the moment, if ever. You might blow me off but I use a full size flipboard widget which is just as good as blinkfeed.

I heard about this flip board I think I tried it out once and it wasn't the same.I'm surprised that nobody has created a similar app or even try to port or mimic BlinkFeed.

Missing HTC Widgets

Hey guys,
Not sure if I'm the only person to miss some of the widgets I used to have on the One X and other HTC devices before.
The widget I'm missing most is the Messages widget, cause I always used it for my text messages.
Is there a way to get these widgets on the One?

Same here, they were forced to strip down sense by other idiots always calling it bloat. Now a lot of the widgets I used to use are gone just like you I used to use the text messages widget all the time. Mail was another one of my regular widgets.

A lot of what was in Sense 4 and Sense 4+ was unnecessary bloat, at least in my experience. The performance difference when running a de-Sensed ROM or an AOSP ROM, at least on the One XL, was night-and-day compared to a pure Sense ROM - even on 4.1.
Allow me to download Sense widgets in an HTC store or something, but they should be optional installs, at most.
I miss the 4x1 weather clock with the nice graphics. The sense 5 version might be 'lighter' but I rather liked the clouds that looked cloudy rather then tv weather forecast icony.

I miss being able to type one status update to post across Twitter, Fb, etc
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
There are always other apps than can do that in the same way or better than the HTC widget ones and are less intrusive to the battery and perfomance. What I miss is the lock screen animation, I liked it on the One XL, even when It was a battery sucker. ^^
The difference between Sense 4.x and Sense 5 is really awesome, Sense 5 is faster, sleekier and much faster and less battery intensive than Sense 4.x as for now.

You are still able to do this using the BlinkFeed screen. Just pull down the feed to reveal the menu and tap the pen.
But can't update more than one of the three options shown at the same time...

One of these days you'll realize nobody really cares what your "status updates" are.
Facebook is dumb, twitter a little less dumb when used for news and not "OMG you won't believe who I just saw #someonefamous" crap.

No App-to-Home Transition

I find it strange that HTC seems to have removed any form of animation when in an app and hitting the home button while using the Sense launcher. It seems... Odd, I guess. I suppose it's quicker than watching an animation, but it almost reminds me of using Windows with animations turned off. I know other launchers (such as Nova) allow the user to change this, but I actually like Sense 5 (and was bugged by the way the lockscreen uses the Sense dock, and Nova doesn't change that).
Any thoughts on this?

HTC has always removed these animations. On all the versions of Sense. This is probably the mentality of the "professional" aspect of Sense. I know many people who disable animations on their phones because they fell that's ridiculous or "cheap" to have too animations like that...

Interesting. This is my first HTC phone as well. Given the history of Sense, I'm somewhat surprised HTC would do such a thing. Not that I'm complaining...
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 2
Yep. The better thing they could do would be to set up as our preferences... Like in Nova / Apex

Transparent dock

Anyone know of a mod that will make the dock transparent like the widget mod?

I think I give up asking questions here. Lol
82 views and nothing. Hmm.

A different launcher would do the trick. Only suggestion I can offer at the moment.
Kind of a shame to lose some of the Sense features though.
I tried using Nova Prime today and, even though I really like it, I ended up back with Sense. I used it all the time on my One X. I love hiding the dock and changing other things, but it just isn't miles better than Sense anymore.
Anyway, maybe you might like it. It'll give you a good number of ways to customize the dock.

You can use vrtheme with a zip for change the png of the dock in sense.
However, for trickdroid this mod excits!
I found a mod in the Themes & Apps section. I saw it before but I didn't know the dock was considered the "nav bar". There were no screenshots. I decided to just try it and it made the dock transparent.

Widgets on lockscreen?

Am I missing something here or does the 4.2.2 really not have widgets on the lockscreen?

Thanks to HTC, no. We have to wait for someone to make it so we can flash the stock 4.2.2 lockscreen. People in the ARHD thread got it to work by renaming or removing the HTC lockscreen apk but supposedly some could add widgets and some couldn't. That thread moves way to fast so I can't find any of the info for that now so have no idea how to get it to work or if it really does work.

I have renamed the lockscreen and now I have stock. But I can't add widgets to it. I saw some people on the arhd thread who can ....
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
It's ridiculous that HTC didn't add this option.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
for some reason if you dirty flash from a 4.1.2 ROM to a 4.2.2 one you get the ability to add lockscreen widgets to the stock lock screen (which you get by deleting HtcLockscreen.apk)
I suspect HTC removed whatever bits of system ui from 4.2.2 that supported them, and dirty flashing is the only way (so far) to get those bits.
Do they work on stock lockscreen?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
And I thought Samsung's implementation of Lockscreen widgets was dumb... at least they can do it. Bad HTC, that's a very bad HTC. I'm gonna get a rolled up newspaper.

No that's what I was talking about
Hopefully someone will figure out how to add them in. So dumb that HTC would do that.

Mine works. I just flashed the 4.2.2 rom TWICE, then deleted HTCLockscreen.apk (or add a .bak to the end of it) and it worked. I went back to 4.1 right not so I don't have a screenshot, but it did work for me.
HTCs lockscreen system is bad enough already. You can't even have a different wallpaper than your home screen unless you are willing to lose out on the function of the other lockscreens. God forbid us being able to have a different wallpaper AND having notifications on our lockscreen. I really hope someone works on this. Because from what I can tell torxx and mike couldn't really care less widgets on the lockscreen. Torxx just told me to use something like widgetlocker but that thing causes lag sometimes and mike says he hates lockscreen widgets period.

Possible to port old sense ring lockscreen?

The lockscreen is okay on sense 5 but personally I liked the look of the old one a lot better. Would it be possible to port it? If so someone should do it. I don't know how or I would.

Download Agile Lock from the Play Store
It probably relies on some sort of framework so I doubt it's possible. At least that's what I here every time someone requests something from another version of sense to be ported.
