My Xperia t battery charges only when the phone is off. :-S
I want to try an hard reset... Other suggestions?

Repair it using pccompanion.
A hard reset will probably not solve the issue.
Going to try it tomorrow and update, no available pc now.

Repaired installation with SEUS, but no good luck: phone still not charging when on.
Also tried to connect to the pc, but no reaction: just as if it's not physically connected...
Are you charging from the PC or from a wall charger?
Have you got the drivers installed for your phone so that the PC recognises the phone?

Yes and yes, it's not the first time I connect them, I also have flashtool installed here, I used it to put in the bond's rom that is running now (9.1.A.1.141)... Should I do something with it?

Done, now I'm on android 4.0 7.0.A.3.223 (OT seems to be faster!)
I tried several times, it connected only two times. Obviously it connected normally when off, and I tried different cables...
I'm scared that it's an hardware problem...
Wtf, I an scarred its a user problem.
Connect your phone to a wall charger. Let me know if it charges.

LOL, it doesn't. First time I had the issue, was with a wall charger. Obviously I have tried many chargers, with different cables, before annoying you there...
I wrote I'm scared of an hardware problem because it worked two times on more than ten attempts, and I thought that maybe the logic of working in charging is different if the phone is on or off, and if there's a bad contact in the usb plug it simply doesn't work even if electricity contacts correctly. I hope I explained what I meant...

Today, i forgot to charge my phone, so it shut down int he middle of the day. Everything was normal, until i tried to "revive" it. I plugged it into the wall. Nothing
Unplugged battery and tried just outlet: nothing
No battery, computer
nothing
Eventually, i got some signs of life from hold volume down and power before plugging it in. The phone would show the intial lg screen for a few seconds, than shut itself down again. Eventually, i got to clockworkmod, where i did a factory restore. It starts working again.
I plug it into charge, and come back to it an hour later.
The phone is very very hot. Not warm, but HOT. Holding the battery was in the brink of uncomfortable due to the heat. I've had SOD'S before, but never this bad.
I am using Helldire Phoenix V2.0. About to try Euroskank.
Should i be worried of an immintent phone failure?
(its cooling down right now)
Try taking ur battery out, plug it in then put the battery back in and wait

Any suggestions what could be wrong?
Buy a new original charger. It's due to your fake charger.

A hassle, i know, but try repairing using pcc and see if the problem persists. If it does, it may be a hardware issue.

Then It might be a Hardware problem. As cascabel said use PCC or Flashtool to flash the Stock rom
Good Luck

Hi. Firstly sorry for my bad English, I'm Spanish and I don't speak it very well. I've THIS [ **[ROM][CM10.1][4.2.1] Asylum CM10.1 Nightlies - Slim, Fast and Smooth 4.2.1 Romeā¢**]ROM, but I've had other ROMs before.
The problem is that when I'm using my phone, the battery discharges even if I'm charging it. I've tried with some chargers with the same result.
Thanks for your time.
Try cleaning the usb port with alcohol. It might be faulty and need replacing its a common issue on the notes I suffered it last month

Go to system settings > Developer Settings and enable Show CPU usage.
Look whats taking up your CPUs time (that process should be at or near the top) and try to get rid of it.

Best thing to do now is reflash stock firmware and claim for usb module to be replaced if you have warranty ?
You can buy the part with instructions to do it yourself but if you have warranty dont take the risk, let the pro's fix it.
if you cant connect to computer to flash firmware, download mobile odin and use that, download the firmware files either from your phone or pc (which ever had fastest connection) and flash them with mobile odin.

Firstly, thx for your answer.
The USB port works fine, the problem is that when I am using it, battery discharges...
Is the part expensive? I'm out of warranty.
Regards.

Just 2 quick questions: where do you charge your phone? On the wall plug, not the PC's USB port, right? Is your charger the stock one (by Samsung)?

Exactly, but there's a curious thing: I think (not sure) that when I charge it in the PC's USB port it works fine... but not on the wall plug.
Yes, it's, but I've tried with other chargers too.
Thanks for ur answer

Anyone found a fix? i have the same problem. Things i tried:
Charged it all night (with an ipad charger. they're powerfull and my dad needed the original). Nothing happend
Am now charging it for an hour with the original cable and charger, no response.
hold power button for longer then 30 seconds
hold power + volume up
hold power + volume down
nothing seems to happen. When i press the power button, the led becomes red, when i let go of the power button, it immediatly turns off.
this is the same with or without the charger plugged in.
Also tried connecting it to my computer, but Sony PC Companion does not recognize the phone, even though i have the drivers installed
EDIT: fixed it. charged it with the charger supplied. waited for 2 hours, then disconnected the charger and reconnected. The red light began to burn. After about 15 minutes i was able to turn on the phone.
Mmm very strange thing...

question i have a weird charging problem in my XZ.. it happens sometimes.. when I charge my phone It doesnt charge it gets heated up only.. then I will restart the phone or drain it then it will charge normally.. I dont know why this happen sometimes.. does somebody also have encountered this problem? thanks
So basically no problems with my Xperia so far, there was a time it wouldn't charge properly but after 30 minutes in a wall socket it charged again.
Today my battery got empty and I thought it wasn't a problem, just connect it to a wall socket but unfortunately it wouldn't do anything, even after an hour. I tried plugging it in my computer to see if it would detect my phone, no connection sounds or notifications. I tried volume up + power button, still no sign of life.
I'm starting to believe the phone just hard bricked? Never had any problems so far so not sure what to do next.
Leaving on holiday soon so I can't afford to lose my phone at this moment.
Any suggestions?
PS: I didn't flash it or anything, just stock rom

Not sure on the firmware, still the same that came with the phone I assume, haven't done the upgrade to 4.2.2
I had a similar problem, the problem was the cable!with a new cable everything was fine
