[APP] titanium backup, can I select multiple apps in one go - Paid Software Announcement and Discussion

Seems titanium backup is the most frequently recommended app for backup, but fare as I can tell (and I did try Google), there is no way of selecting multiple apps on one go. What I would like was to simply mark all the apps I want backed up, then select go. Now it seems I have to do one app after the other, wait for it to be backed up, then go on to the next app. That takes some time with a few dozen apps. Is theft a way of selecting multiple apps, pro version or normal?

With the paid version, you can select multiple apps as you are wanting to do.

That explains it, thanks for the info

Just use batch mode. Paid version does this automatically, non paid one asks You to install the app.

unpaid for apps show as Purchased on play market

Ok in the past I used to use paid apks for free (illegal I know) but I wish to purchase these apps now and play market thinks they are installed, how can I pay ?

i would guess uninstall them (use titanium to backup data), then buy from market and restore data
It shows as purchased if uninstalled and if I click instal it gives error screen Instead of purchase screen

Didn't think of that, I'll do that later, thanks

Titanium Backup has a feature called Market Doctor which removes and/or attaches market links, effectively showing them or not within the market. I'm not entirely sure, but I believe it's a Pro-only feature, so making a new account may be better for you.
That doesn't work on 4.0.... makes it worse for me :/

I've run into this also, yes I have used some pirated apps, but really it was such a hassel to find working updated sometimes 2 or 3 daily, I just said screw it I can spare 3$ for the app. I tried a whole bunch of tricks, hacks, whatever. the one that has worked for me, is re-install lets say, your stock rom (or a Stock rom).
boot up, setup your 'current' google account, go strait to the market (google play, whatever), disable auto update, ad mobs, ect. download/purchase the apps you want. From my experience, its better to do this quick. google market seems to take a while to realize your phone, is on a new rom. its sort of hit or miss.
When you go back to your ICS rom, well your purchased apps should be well "purchased" for real.
on another note, be careful of some roms using Legit software, not to name any names but a few have "copyrighted" software. So if you installed one of those, your loose your chance to buy it when you want to.
my 2 cents.

Have you tried simply using the web version on a desktop, or even from your phone's browser, then letting it get sent to your device when you sync? It may take a reboot or two, but this worked for me in the past. (Of course after uninstalling the app in question first.
I had this problem once when I tried to show my support for an app dev. I got a free version of Cut the Rope from GetJar and I wanted to convert to the Market version to support the dev. But Market on my phone kept on showing it as purchased, and wouldn't allow you to buy it anymore.
I uninstalled the app from my phone, backing up data with TI Backup. I then went to the web version of Android Market, and that thankfully showed that I had not purchased the Market version of the app.

slim ics? The most reliable ics rom imo ... its play markets detection of installed apps, I've been on 3 roms with this issue, if the other methods don't work I'll use an old market apk

Glossary of apps

Can someone point me in the right direction as to how I learn what some of these vzw and lg apps are in my phone. i.e lg hidden menu. App widget picker. Would like to freeze some stuff but would like to know what i should and shouldn't do.
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA
you can freeze the music, netflix, etc. i dont freeze apps starting with "com." unless I know what it is specifically, but the rest is trial and error. its not hard to see what ones you can by simply reading the whole file name.

ASUS Keyboard 3.0.0.0

There is an ASUS keyboard in 4.1.2 but it is hidden. In order to show it:
REQUIRES ROOT AND TITANIUM BACKUP
1.Launch Titanium Backup
2.Go to Backup/Restore Tab
3. Unfreeze Asus Keyboard 3.0.0.0
4. Go to Language and Input and check ASUS Keyboard
5. Change input method to ASUS Keyboard
6. Enjoy!
EDIT: I am using 4.1.2 rooted stock rom.
Which ROM are you running? I don't see this at all on Bugless Beast 4.1.2.
Hmmm... I defrosted it in TB, but it's still not showing up in the language & input section.

It didn't show up for me also after defrost. But this is it what I do after that, I make a TB backup and un-freeze Chrome then it show up.
Looks like a terrible keyboard anyway.. I'd smash my Nexus 7 by the 5000th time I pressed zero to backspace, or backspaced by accident while hitting enter.. Terrible design.
The keyboard did not show up for me. And Titanium Backup says the app is frozen again after a reboot.
Thanks. Using it now. MUCH better than stock. Its the same keyboard that is on my Asus TF300 and it makes switching between the two tablets easier to have everything in the same place.

I got the same thing too (didn't show up in Input Settings), but after some weird combination of doing things, it magically showed up.
Here's what I *think* triggered it:
-Unfreeze as per OP's instructions
-Open up an app that has an editable text field (I used Dolphin Browser)
-Click on the text field
-Swipe down on the Notification Bar and tap Choose Input Method
It was at this point that my N7 stuttered for a bit. Took a while for the keyboard switcher to display (the ASUS Keyboard wasn't a choice), but when I went back to Language & Input Settings, it was there and I didn't have to reboot.
Your millage may vary, but I'm using it now.

Just curious, are you guys using the free version of Titanium Backup or the Donate version?
Because with the free version I tried to re-freeze the app so I could try unfreezing again and it told me, "Sorry, apps can only be frozen/defrosted in the Donate version." It gave me no such message when I unfroze it, though.

some apps not compatible

For example I had bought Swype Tablet keyboard and it installed perfectly fine on Samsung Galaxy tab 7+, While on nexus 7 it is showing it is not compatible. This happens with many applications. When Both are 7" tablets, why the difference?
I'm SwiftKey Flowing right now. What ROM are you using?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
For awhile there after Swiftkey 4 was released it was listed as incompatible with the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. It has since been fixed though..
I can't speak about Swiftkey but the real reason is that some apps are compatible with the latest firmware (4.2.2 as of this post) that the Nexus has while others lag behind.
Thus, those apps support the older firmware (in this case the version on your Galaxy Tab) but haven't been updated to work on the newest firmware.
I had a number of apps that ran on my Samsung Galaxy S3 that were incompatible. I used TB on the S3 to send latest backup to gmail then used TB on the Nexus to import it. The main one for me was OS Atlas Premium app, I just had to get it working on the 7" screen. The whole of the UK for the price of about £1.80.
I had this issue with a bunch of apps....as of right now, for some apps that I have on my Galaxy S3, if I search for those apps on my Nexus 7 and it says they're incompatible, what I do is.....on my phone I use the app manager built in to ES File Explorer, make a backup of the installed app, upload it to Box, then on my Nexus I open Box, and install said apps right from within the Box app! It's worked every time so far for me! Right now on my Nexus I have Citibank, Capital One, Auto Parts Warehouse, and some others that all claimed were "incompatible", but they're working just fine....no force closes or anything!

You can move from device to device with an app like wifi explorer. That'll save you needing to go through a cloud service. Personally I use Titanium Backup Pro since the backup can be set to include the app's data also.

There is, but it's either in the General or Q&A (haven't read it for a while). Should be easy to find. Not sure if there's one in themes/apps.

Final Fantasy V

Has anyone gotten this game to load? I'll touch the icon to launch the game, it'll sit there for a minute and then exit back to the home screen. No error message or anything. I sent a customer support email to Square Enix, but who knows how long that will take. Thought maybe someone here knew of the problem and how to fix it.
Thanks in advance!

Exposed is actually the problem. The newer square Enix games check for it and don't work if it is found. Not really sure why they do, but it started with version 1.0.3 of final fantasy dimensions, and it is also present in all versions of IV and V. You have to disable all modules and reboot for it to work.

I actually want to get the game on another device without re-downloading it. I bought the game on my phone because that's the only way I could get it charged to my AT&T phone bill, but I really wanted it to play on my Nexus 7 tablet. I just can't download the whole game again because my wifi sucks at my house. I don't have xposed on the Nexus, but I have Titanium Backup. I transferred the 3 TiBu files from my phone to my tablet and even the obb folder and put it in the obb folder under Android. I then ran Restore App + Data on the tablet. Now, whenever I tap the FFV icon on the tablet, it just hangs for a second and then goes straight to the home screen. I've used TiBu many times before and the method I just described has worked for every other app I've transferred from my phone to my tablet. I'm just confounded why it won't work with this app. Any other suggestions? You've already been a big help!

I think it has to do with the extra data the apply needs to download on first run. Titanium backup will backup the apk and save data, but it doesn't backup the usually 100+mb obb file stored on the sd card.
You could copy the file from:
sdcard/Android/obb/ com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFV_GP
to your computer and then transfer it to your other device and it should work.
Sent from my Verizon Galaxy Note 2 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
I did that. I have the folder: com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFV_GP in Android/obb and in that folder contains the 140.43MB file: main.105.com.square_enix.android_Google play.FFV_GP.obb. I also have the apk.gz, properties and tar.gz files in the TiBu folder. I then ran Restore App+Data in TiBu. It then goes through the install process and then when it's finished, I hit Open, the screen goes blank for a minute and then exits to home.
Like I said, I've done this with many games and apps before and it's never given me problems like this stupid game is right now. Who would've thought it would be so hard to try to relive a small piece of my childhood?

Fix I found for it to work
I have had the same problem stated, Xposed installed and FFV black screen and returning to home screen.
Xposed is the problem, the fix I found is to move Xposed as a system app and any modules.
Works for me.
Had the same problem. The game worked fine stock ROM but stopped working i flashed the ARHD custom ROM for HOX+ loaded with exposed. Coudn't fix the issue. Now playing it on my DHD.
