N7000 recovery lost after update to cyanogenmod 10.2 - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi and good morning,
after i flash Cyanogenmod 10.2 my phone lose the recovery, that exacly what i did:
Flash this stock kernel with odin (PDA only): N7000XXLSZ_N7000XXLSO_N7000ITVLS4_HOME.tar.md5 (everything ok)
Flash this recovery from the stock recovery (Vol+/HomeButton/Power) : PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-5.00.5-signed.zip (everything ok)
Reboot phone and reboot in my new recovery (everything ok)
Wipe data / factory reset (everything ok)
Flash this rom : cm-10.2-20130824-NIGHTLY-n7000.zip (everything ok)
Flash this gapps : gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip (everything ok)
Turn on the phone, configure the initial setup and everithing seems to be ok
But when i press the power button i only have turn off option (no reboot, airplane mode, profiles...)
Try to go to recovery: i turn off my phone, Vol+, Home button, Power button and nothing appends, after the initial n7000 logo nothing appears, only black screen.
But the download mode is safe, i can came back to the original stock with odin (flashing the pda only)
If someone has an idea, i finished mine...
Thanks

That's a bug with that release. Follow the rom support thread and you'd know that.

You can flash a newer nightly that has the recovery but fixed via mobile Odin or a similar program

[Q] Download Mode & Booting Problem

Helo All,
I am running CM 7.1 and facing the following two issues:
1) My SGS i9000 boots itself even if i select the Power Off option.
2) Whenever i take out the battery and reinsert it into the set...the phone automatically boots into Download Mode. Its only after 3-5 attempts that the phone boots normally. This happens only when i take out the battery, otherwise it boots normally.
Please help.
Kashif
Try with this:
- Install Darky 10.2 RE "multiupload.com/XWD2GIFMMM" (WITH ODIN)
- Reboot to recovery
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Flash CM7.1
- Your phone will reboot and go into bootloop. That's normal. Press Power + Home + Vol Up for 10 seconds and you'll be into recovery
- Wipe data / factory reset
- Format /system
- Flash CM7.1 ROM again
- Reboot

flash gingerbread via odin.
then install cwm recovery 4
then install cwm 5
wipe data and cache before and after flashin a new rom of ur choice...
Lol. I faced this problem long time back. Do this-
Flash stock Rom with help of Odin.
After it tells pass, you ll boot loop. Its normal.
Remove usb.
Remove battery and put it back while its boot looping.
Go to "Stock Recovery" and then clear user data and cache.
Reboot and wait. Might take around 1min-5min max. Good luck.

[Q] Flash Custom ROM with Odin?

Hi,
How could i flash Custom ROM with Odin..
Because
1. I am not able to go into recovery mode by holding Volume up+Volume Down+Power Buttons
2. I could not reboot into recovery mode using adb commands (stuck at at&t screen)
3. I could not reboot into recovery by flashing any kernel with CWM.. obviously i have to use volume up+Volume Down+Power Buttons again :-(
I am able to flash stock ROM through ODIN 1 click downloader (currently on I897UCKI2)..and its the only way i could flash a ROM now..
So is there a way to install custom rom through ODIN ?
Please help...
If you can get into download mode (power off, hold V+/V-, insert USB), you can try flashing a ROM via Heimdall. Apex 12.5 has a package you can flash from Heimdall.
You can also try Mosaic 9, as that has an Odin-based installer package.

Hey,
I'm using samsung galaxy star s5282. I rooted this phone 2 days ago. Everything went good until today when i was i my class it suddenly switched off. When i rebooted it, it hang on the samsung logo.
I tried to boot into cwm recovery mode by pressing v+, home, power but it boots into default system recovery mode.
I again flashed cwm recovery many times using odin but it dosent work. Odin shows pass but when i reboot my phone in cwm recovery mode my phone enters in default system recovery mode.
What should i do please please please help.....
Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install.
applies to all recoveries
cheers

Surenda 1863,
I had exactly the same problem and it took me almost one week of fiiddling and searching the Web to solve it.
The solution was in front me since day ONE : install ODIN on the PC !
In my case, I had I had accidentally wiped out the stock ROM and the tablet was hopelessly frozen on the download mode. I couldn't turn it off to boot it back with any of the usual buttons ( Volume , Home, Power)
I made the wrong assumption that since my PC didn't see the tablet, it couldn't connect to Odin either . I was wrong!
Here is what you have to do:
1. Install Odin on your PC. Connect the tablet to it. You will see that Odin sees the tablet because there will be a caption saying "added" on the top left.
2. Press the AP tab button at the right to go to the location where your Stock ROM is. The stock ROM file will have an MD5 ending.
3 Once the file is loaded (next to the AP button) just press Start. You will see the DOWNLOAD bar gradually filling up on the tablet and at the top left of ODIN.
4. When the operation is terminated, you will see a caption " PASSED" at the top left of he Odin screen and the tablet will automatically boot up to the HOME screen.
As simple as this! I didn't even have to worry about flashing the TWRP ( or CWR) recovery system, probably because the OS ROM was already wiped out. May be your case is different. I only know that in my case it worked like a charm.

[Q] Flash CWM recovery on GT-19305?

Can it be done? How to do it?
through Odin. make sure it's for the i9305
The most recent CWM ported is in this thread, which also contains a link to Odin. Make sure Kies isn't running and that you have the right USB drivers, open Odin, put your phone in download mode (turn it off, then hold volume down + home while you turn it on again), connect your phone to your PC, and flash the .tar.md5 file as PDA.
1. First, download Odin from this link
Make sure you have the drivers for your phone installed. *If not download KIES from the Samsung site and install*
2. Plug your phone into the computer and start Odin.
3. Shutdown your phone and boot it in to download-mode by pressing Vol. down + home + power
4. Press the PDA-button in Odin and select your CWM-recovery file.
5. Make sure that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected.
6. When flashing is done you will se a message "PASS" and your device should restart automatically.
Congratiulations, you now have CWM flashed on your phone
Here's a link to a CWM recovery flashable file if you not have one alreddy. LINK
Creds for the CWM-recovery file upload goes to codeworkx
I have flashed the cwm file through odin. It passed but when I go into recovery it is still the stock recovery and not cwm. Why?
I've gotten the same problem. So.. i flashed the recovery, but whej the phone restarted i shut it down without booting.(i removed the battery when the s3 lte screen showed up). Then i entered recovery and it worked. (S3 lte reflashes stock recovery and other stock things on stock kernel when booting). If you want permanent cwm recovery, flash a custom kernel! I hope this will help you!

Struck at recovery black screen

Hi Guys,
I'm using Paranoid 4.6 beta5 i tried using power + vol up + home button to enter into the recovery mode but it just displayed a black screen. Now the crazy thing I did was I downloaded reboot to recovery app and used it and ever since then i am struck at the black screen i see samsung logo and then just black screen no paranoid boot animation what do i do now ?
Solution:
If someone falls in the same boat here's how i resolved it i connected the usb to my pc and did i restart which made it reboot in safe mode then i unplugged it and did a reboot from the power button and voila everything is back to normal
You need to flash a kernel or stock ROM in PC Odin and get recovery back

Try this:
I didn't experience any data loss but cant guarantee anything.
1. Download this http://d-h.st/HJM
2. Flash with PC Odin (Add via PDA button and make sure ONLY Auto reboot is checked)
3. Wait till completed
4. Boot into recovery (Which will now be CWM)
5. Do a factory reset and wipe cache and dalvik cache
6. Reboot
7. Enjoy
8. Smash my thanks button (Please.....)
Note: You will now be on Gingerbread 2.3.5 Rooted + CWM, and you're good to go.
