Using an app wont change the hardware on your device.
Better camera means better lens which the app wont give you .
Also the speaker has a volume limit to protect it from frying. If you use an app that raises the volume level you could risk damaging your internal speaker!!!

Ok you are right about these things !! So you need something to tweak the software part of the camera and the sound output not the hardware.
As for the sound i would suggest Power Amp i have need using it for 2-3 years and i LOOOOVVEEEE IITTT bought the full version and it has paid off because it has a very user frendly interface and a built in Equalizer (you can tweak it to change the sound output thus getting louder sound)
Now for the camera part you can use Camera Zoom FX. I used this with my previous (and current phone) because it could not zoom so it helped me a lot but the effects and options that the app gives you are limitless!!!
Use them and tell me what you think.

wow they changed the icon for arccamera.apk. why did they even put in effort in doing that lol.
SERIOUSLY speaking, the improvements in HD video recording is obvious. it feels like its much smoother and faster now when panning from dark to light environments. the shutter sound for video recording is gone, and the shutter sound for camera can be disabled by changing the shutter sound to "Tone 1"
good work LG ^^

Which rom has the best sound for you?

I mean for both music Via External Speaker and Via Headphones.
Some roms i think have a Very low Speaker Output, we got one of the few smartphones with real stereo speakers and they have incredible well.... Low Volume
I think CM10.1 has very good sound, you have DSP Manager, which is a equalizer app for CM. You can either choose presets or do it yourself. You also have a bass and treble booster.
If you have decent headphones or earphones, you can really experience it.
Hope this answers your question

Temasek's CM7+vadonka's eTana kernel sounds best.
As supercurio said before,cm10/4.04official has changed the audio sampling rate to 48kHz which leads to poor SRC and poor audio quality which is important to me as daily players.I remember that Vadonka once could change his sample rate of his CM7 kernel, but the dev seem haven't found the way to change the sampling rate on CM10/4.04.Glad that someone raised the question as the sound quality is the only thing stopping me from using ics.
It would be great if someone is going to fix it.
Also, supercurio has seemingly lost his interest in continuing voodoo for 2x either for new Kaudio driver or support of ics.Can it be ported to a flashable zip?Big Thanks for it.
I use the 2x as my daily music driver with TF10.
With any rom that suports voodoo sound...
supercurio seems that is not going to bring us their implementation of Voodoo in CM10 and above : (
we never really even had voodoo sound, in our version only the amplifier controll worked, which is more like voodoo loud..
sad panda

O2x has only 1 main speaker out n that's called mono.
I wouldn't mind that if it wasn't so weak and distorted at high (cough)
volumes.
FWIW mind you no software tweak can do any major difference to a small speaker like
this phone has. Of course nothing stops you to use an external sound system, that's
were software can do magick in the limits of course of the D/A conv. the O2x has to
offer, which is not that bad actually.
You can use the hdmi to bypass the D/A converter or even bluetooth anytime of the day though...
what you talking about there is 2 speakers, and the hp jack 3.5mm is stereo also

If you kindly tilt your phone. - i suggest you got a lg p 990 not su 660. - there will magically appear 2 - in words two - speakers to the left and right of your micro USB jack... further no need to say that the tech specs if you check them online clearly say "stereo speakers"
For further notice size doesn't matter.
But it shows that you have clearly no idea about actual audio technic and still think a speaker must be"this big" to do a good sound work.
That don't need BTW that I think this speakers are spectacular or something. But I think they got more potential...

I don't think so. As i know, p990 has just one speaker, another one is just micro (which looks like second speaker).
About sound quality. I use dual boot with old boot just for voodoo sound. 1 rom is wiui with etana kernel which supports voodoo. I am using this rom only for music and second pa build4. We have a lot cm 10, 10.1 for old boot and i think it's enough for those people who really needs them and voodoo.

Size in speakers is very crucial as it defines the lowest frequency it can reproduce.
I don't want to get more technical about it but the bigger the speaker is, the lowest can get frequency wise.
As for all the other stuff I stand to my previous post.
If you don't mind, being cocksure about stuff is ridiculous in my book.
The speakers (ear speaker + main speaker)in p990 is low quality, the audio output has nothing to do with the speaker if this is ok with you that is.
Good luck.
but saying its mono is just wrong
Why? It's not stereo and it sums to mono...
How do you call that? Anyway...

P.S.: if you don't get the meaning of that re-read and re-think about this sentence. It does totally make sense
cm 10.1 is loud but not that gud.

Well if you read the post than you would have read that the so appeared second speacer is just the mic what appers as a speaker due it´s looks. I googled it and only a German site labled it falsely as Stereo speakers.
So this is realy akward that a phone life MOTO Defy has so much better and louder audio quallity in phone speaker and headphone sound.
I´m a real adiophile and i suggesting to get another phone just because the poor audio quality :crying:

Volume levels with headphones

I'm interested in getting this phone, I checked on gsmarena and the freq response is perfect.I just wanna know if anyone's flashed CM if the volume levels on headphones are increased. From my past experience with sony phones, when I flashed CM the levels were always louder but I just wanna make sure before I make the move and throw 500 euros out there. Thanks upfront.

Turned off the equalizer in poweramp and its still fairly good to be honest with you, turned off bass and treble in poweramp aswell, volume level was decent. i dont touch preamp, it distorts the sound too much for my liking. one thing i will mention is that i run a modified stock rom, the developer of the rom has included a mod which increases the headphone and external speaker volume, that may attribute why i get good volume levels and i am using some decent earphones too

Xperia V (Sound Problem)

Now i'm very disappointed of Xperia V sound for listening music because when i played with Walkman Player, sound are not stable. When i taste with Clear Bass +8 or +10, sound output is low volume with not stable. Sometime sound volume was increase level but sometime decrease with not stable for listening. Original Walkman Player 4.1.2 on Xperia V is very lousy with not look like My Old Xperia Neo. Why ???? When i used Sony Ericssion Xperia Neo, Everythings r very good & taste with Clear Bass +8db or +10db, sound
is very good taste for feeling. Now i changed Neo to Xperia V, very disappointed for listening for songs of music. And then cannot use Xperia Neo headphone on Xperia V.
How can i do Xperia Neo sound quality on Xperia V??? I don't like sound for listen my new Xperia V.

I have the V, too.
If you give so much bass to the sound, it is no wonder the system will try best to limit the volume for preventing damage to the tiny speaker, the headphone or your ears. Especially in conjunction with a cheap headphone that might be quite annoying, yep. If you like bass then buy headphones that deliver bass without the need for pumping it up artificially.
Thanks Bro! do u know how to stop limit volume for preventing damage to the tiny speaker?? i don't want to need limit the volume for clear bass.
It's depend on limit from system or headphone bro?? i like more my old xperia neo headphone but V is not support for Neo.
Thanks

Btw I recommend xHiFi version, it's better imo. ^^

Excellent sound mod, just what I was looking for. Not only is the sound 20% louder, you are able to adjust bass & treble.

Wow.

Night and Day differences with further tweaking.
