zoom is gone after recent HTC system update.
is there a way to set the camera for single frame shots and not Zoe?
Android 4.1.2
software 1.27.531.11
found it. small camera icon on the top center of the camera toggles Zoe, zoom and filters.

I couldn't find the camera switch button in the software, does HTC camera support the 3g camera of Kaiser? If so, how do i make the switching?
If your talking about the front camera, you just tap "camera" and it will switch to the front camera.
If you want to use it for video calls, you'll need a video call support-dialer, along with the support of the service provider. (normally depicted by some webcam-image icon or anything of that sort)
if your in the camera bring up the menu and theres a button to select which camera. it cycles from back camera, front camera and front camera (flipped).
maybe you have the new camera than you cannot use the frontcamera and Auto focus.
maybe you are right rohithathie, my original front camera had dead once and i changed a new version of camera, maybe thatz why i cannot switch the camera in the new htc camera
Google released an improved Camera app in the Play Store.
It has a new updated UI, and some notable new features like Lens Blur effect
Code:

Features
• Photo Spheres for immersive 360º views
• Lens Blur mode for SLR-like photos with shallow depth of field
• Panorama mode with high resolution
• 100% viewfinder for getting the maximum resolution from the sensor (no dropped pixels)
• Updated UI that gets out of your way and is centered on an extra large capture button
• Works on phones and tablets running Android 4.4+ KitKat
Download Link to Play Store here
It should show up in an update soon.
There is this thread already that is a bit active, http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/google-camera-update-t2720165
So I'll go ahead and close this one. Thanks for the share though.
After installing the EMUI 9 update when I zoom, especially at 10x, the photos taken are not what they appear on the screen before taking them. Instead, the photo taken is something that is lower down to what I was trying to take a photo of. For example, if I try to take a picture of the B key on my laptop it takes a picture of the space bar.
Furthermore, whilst this hasn't only been occurring after the EMUI 9 update, very small artefacts that stay in the same position are present at high zoom, especially 10x zoom (they are invisible at no zoom and only become slightly visible at 5x zoom), when the camera focuses on an object. They appear like small white dots (visible when you zoom in on something that is black in colour as the white dots become more visible). However, they don't appear when taking the photo due to post-processing smoothing the photo out. They are not present though when taking pictures in the pitch black so surely they are not dead pixels? You can though see it on video at 10x zoom. The lens is clean. Is this normal?
Any help is much appreciated,
Thank you.
I've investigated the problem further regarding the first issue and I believe it must be something to do with the telephoto lens not always functioning, which happened straight after updating to EMUI 9, therefore, only the main sensor takes the picture, hence why the final photo appears further down than the preview photo. Also, if I take a photo and then look at it in the gallery and then go back to the camera, the preview image is shifted and the image quality is worse, which would make sense if the telephoto lens is not working when zooming. However, it does seem to work sometimes.
Can someone else test this as it must be a software issue.
I'm on EMUI 9.0.0.168
Thank you.
Telephoto lens preview and capturing will only works when the phone decide that the light is sufficient enough. Else it will use interpolated image captured from main sensor.
This been discussed in other threads as well
Hey everyone!
So for the longest of time, I already have this problem when I am using the front camera to take a group photo, and the camera always focus on the person closest (holding) the camera. Even with the face detection option ON, it won't capture the rest of my friends. Even if I manually tap on the center of the screen (to focus behind).
Do you guys face this issue too?
Any solutions?
I tried Open Camera app but it doesn't have the wide angle feature (like the default S10 camera) have for front camera. (Unless I am not seeing the option).
Thanks!
Bump Hoping for reply still.
I have noticed this only while using stock camera, when I turn on the front camera everything looks perfect but within 1 to 2 seconds of taking a picture, the photo gets darkened specifically around eyes and forehead.
I tried disabling Auto HDR/Filters and all sort of optimizations yet I get dark and more saturated photos from stock selfie cam compared to other cameras from play store. Is there any fix to this ?
There is no fix for this.
