Hi,
I have a ChinaRetail XT910 and I'm having trouble rooting it. I followed the posts in this forum to install a cracked 'su', but the 'Install SuperUser' fails with a message to contact the developer. Here's the message:
"There was an error installing Superuser. Please send a log of the error to the developer"
I don't have any of the Google apps on the device and would like to update it with a a different version of Android so that I can access the full range of apps in Playstore.
Here're details of my device:
System version: 672.300.384.XT910.ChinaRetail.en.CN
Firmware configuration version: GAS_ASIA_SPYDERICS_P008
Has anyone with the same device managed to root it and update the firmware? If so, how to go about doing it?
Thanks in advance,
Hari

First, you have to upgrade to the official Samsung JB stock rom, then root your phone, install custom recovery and install custom ROM from recovery.
Here is a guide.

Thanks a lot rog_star. Your tutorial have help me. However, I have insert PIN Password to lock my screen. Unfortunately, I think this is a bug in the Android KitKat, when I restart my phone, after inserting the SIM password, it is impossible to insert the PIN Password. The keyboard did not respond. . I must do a factory reset and then re-install the Android KitKat to have access to my phone.

This is spamming - at least for me.

Model number" SAMSUNG-SGH-I537

This method is the only way to root NH3 (the firmware version your phone is on). Make sure to download the correct files
Hi there,
we have this phone and manually rooted and flashed it. Now it runs on TWRP 2.7.8.0.
Since a few days Marshmallow OTA is shown but cannot be installed after download: Error "This package is for K50a40; this is a K3Note".
Nothing worked so far trying to update it. I tried using this method but also does not work out since I cannot get into original Recovery (pushing all 3 buttons as mentioned in this thread to choose language does not work).
Can anybody tell me how I may install this upgrade? I already downloaded the OTA file and stored it as update.zip on the phone. With TWRP updating will not work out. I only managed to get into normal recovery once but could not use it due to being in chinese only.
Any help on how to install this update is highly appreciated!
Many thanks in advance!
Bye

I also had the same problem but mine said, Error "This package is for K50a40; this is a K50-T5".......
Sorry guys - need to bring this up again. Any hints? OTA update is still offered but cannot be installed due to said error.
Do I have to downgrade or install an older stock ROM in order to get updated? If so any hint or link (also to appropriate threads) is highly welcome!
I trying to update my LineageOS version.
From settings -> About -> LineageOS updates, I downloaded the latest update file and click on "Update",
The phone restart and automaticly open TWRP, but the update right away failed.
In the test I did, it faills on "Error 7".
On the first tome I install clean LinageOS and I saw this Error 7, I solve it by delete few rows from a guid I saw on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfKVzVQIPF4
But now I dont have accses to the updated file like before, it is diffrent file and folder.
What can I do to solve this issue?
Thanks!

Hey everyone, I have the realme c11, 2021 model.
The new model, by default, comes with the Android 11.
There are many different threads online showing how to unlock the bootloader on realme c11 android 10, but the same is not working with android 11.
The in-depth test apk is also not getting installed on android 11.
is there any other way we can unlock the bootloader on c11?

What is the exact version of the firmware on your device? Does the number end in C.06? Have you tried the UI 2.0 In depth test? Here's a link which might help https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-bootloader-unlock-realme-c12.4244957/
I have the same issue.

If ./adb install InDepthTest.apk isn't working, you could try to install it using the file explorer on the phone itself. I have issues installing some apps using ./adb install such as VLC for example. So installing from the phone itself might help.
Also, I think there are 2 versions of the InDepthTest, one for RUI version 1 and one for RUI version 2. Your build number ends in .A02 which I think corresponds to RUI version 1.
Hey thanks for responding... i tried it first with file manager on the device i cant install the RUI1 or RUI2 version. Both installations failed.

I just noticed your build number is for an RMX3231, I didn't even know that there was a new C11 with that model number. The C11 I'm familiar with is an RMX2185. Looks like there will need to be a separate thread created for the new C11 (2021) RMX3231. Here's a link to Gsm Arena which shows both versions.
After comparing the C11 Mediatek Helio G35 and C11 (2021) Unisoc SC9863A, I was surprised to see that the newer version isn't really technically better.
Thanks for that informations.
I got that phone as a present for some network-traffic tests... but i have to root it...
maybe there is something coming from realme...
thx!

I had a look at Realme, others have asked for a bootloader unlock tool for the new C11. I think it's worth signing up and politely asking on their forum which I just did.
