[Q] issues getting back to OTA Path

im newish and cant post in the development forum yet so im bringing my problems over here unless a mod wants to move it for me, anyways, i originally flashed a leaked update and was wanting to get back on the update path so i tried p3s 1 click method and it worked like a charm, at first anyway. when the phone rebooted i seem to have lost root to some apps, superuser was not present so i downloaded it from the market but it wont run and says i dont have root, yet some apps that require root still work (wifi tether, TB), whats going on? and the other thing that was bugging me is for some reason everything installed and works but i have no camera app and no camcorder app... i decided to download the razr camera app and give that a try but i dont have a camcorder app, can someone pull it and upload it for me? thanks in advance, and a warning to those who are getting back to the ota path, dont take the 5.9.901, it was so much worse when it came to data drop issues, for me at least.

And the razr apk I downloaded wont install, is there a special way to install a camera apk?

[Q] HELP! Messaging App Gone (rooted)

I tried to install the CM10.1 MMS.apk like I usually do on all of the phones that I root since I prefer the stock android messaging look. I have done this on Samsung phones before with no problem whatsoever. The way I go about this is renaming the samsung mms apk (secmms or something) in system/app to have secmms.apk.bak, and then moving the cm10.1 mms.apk to system app, fixing the permissions and rebooting.
When I reboot my phone is where I get the problem. On boot I get a notification saying that an app has been closed due to unauthrized attempt to access system. I am assuming this is a knox security thing going on preventing the cm10 mms.apk from opening, even though it appears in my app drawer.
my questions are:
-what can I do to allow the cm10.1 mms.apk to run? Do I need to freeze knox? Are there negative effects of doing so?
-am I trying to install an incompatible apk since the note 3 runs 4.3?
-at the very least I'd like the stock messaging app back working again. However, the one hiccup here is that I deleted the odex file for the stock messaging app... I know I should have just renamed it, but I was confident in my method. If the answers to my first two bullet points are negative for getting the cm10.1 mms.apk to work, can someone post the stock samsung odex file so I can get stock messaging back up and running?

EDIT: Went ahead and froze the knox software (as per the thread regarding the freezing of knox/tripping the counter thread) and the cm10.1 mms.apk works like a charm. However please comment if freezing this software is ill-advised. Thanks again.

Camera app not working

Hello sudenly today camera app stoped working i do not know why.
I dont think i made a huge change in the phones firmware so i cant figure out why that happens.
Everytime i open camera app (any camera app i tried focal and the official app) it says "Unfortunately Camera stoped working"
Anyway i tried the following:
I cleared all camera data (cache and data)
I cleared all camera related apps data
I uninstalled camera and restored it using TB (app only)
I got all the camera related apps out of an eXistenZ rom and flashed it on my phone after i had uninstalled every one of them
I am :
Rooted
Using CWM
Unlocked Bootloader
Desperate

[Q] Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped.

I dislike the default launcher that comes with the G Flex, so I installed Nova Launcher. Upon trying to open my gallery app, I get the error message that I quoted for the title of this thread. The gallery app works fine with the LG launcher. My question is this: is there any way to fix the gallery app? I've tried clearing the app's data and cache, to no avail.
If there is no way to fix it, would it be possible to pull an AOSP gallery app from a G2 or Nexus 5 ROM and install it?
EDIT: It seems that none of the LG apps work with Nova Launcher.

I'm using Kit Kat and I'm rooted, but it was doing that before I rooted. I reverted to stock JB (which did not have the same problem), rooted it then, and couldn't reproduce the problem. I reverted to stock again, ran the KK update, installed Nova, and had the same problem. I rooted the phone again, after confirming that the problem still exists.
I've got a few ROMs on my computer, like CM 11 and the new Sprint update for the LS995. I'm wondering if I can just pull the apps I need out of one of those zip files.

I dont know about mixing/using files from other roms..I would probably factory reset first, and see if that helps..if you are rooted, you can grab the GFlex Cache wiper program and try wiping dalvik/cache and see if that helps too

I've already done a factory reset and cleared the cache via the recovery. I'll try the app you spoke of, though. Now I just need to find it...
EDIT: That didn't work. Would it be possible for anyone to pull at least the gallery apk off of their phone and upload it? I'll try to install it using ADB.
EDIT AGAIN: Screw it. I'm going to back up all my crap, revert to stock, redo the update, and root it again. I'll try to see if I can't pull the APKs myself and try reinstalling them. It probably won't work, but it's worth a shot.
ANOTHER EDIT: I figured out what the problem is. I have my DPI set to 220, which apparently breaks the LG apps. I want to keep my DPI setting where it is more than I want to use the broken LG apps, so I'm going to attempt to use the AOSP gallery and see what happens.
YET ANOTHER EDIT: Trying to install the 4.4.2 AOSP gallery apk didn't work. It wouldn't install at all. I found an app in the Play Store that mimics the 4.3 gallery, and it seems to cover my needs for now. Thanks for the advice. It really helped me narrow down the cause of my problem.

Can't use camera

Hi guys,
So, I'm going to preface this by stating that I've searched the forums and can't find an answer.
I have a fully stock, completed solid Note 8 N950F.
Never rooted.
I had to install the latest stock BTU ROM for my phone because the ROM that came on my phone was unusably slow.
FYI, the ROM was installed via ODIN with everything filled, with the regular CSC and NOT the HOME_CSC as I wanted a full wipe.
Now to the issue:
I open the camera, I can see the camera view etc, but I can't PRESS anything. I can't zoom, I can't tap, I can't take photos, I can't go into settings.
The camera app then force-closes saying it's not responding.
What I've done to try and fix it:
I've cleared cache and data for the Camera app.
I've cleared the cache partition in recovery.
I've re-installed the Firmware.
I still have the same issue.
Can anyone help?
I really want to use my camera!
