Browsed through most of the rooting guides; just wanted to ask to make sure,
since I haven't found any threads with this specific CSC number.
Would like a confirmation whether the CSC number matters when
flashing any of the roms found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030282.
If I've read through the guides correctly, I can use any of the roms whose
PDA/PHONE are "XXAME1", then following the directions in the thread linked above.
Wouldn't mind not increasing the custom binary count thing, either.
Or should I follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37980209. Not sure about installing CWM recovery.
Just don't want to (hard) brick another phone.
Thanks.

I recently got my gt i9000 updated from a service center to 2.3.6 and now the info under about phone tab is as follows..
kernel version: [email protected]#2
build number: GINGERBREAD.DDJVB
baseband : I9000DDJV7
well this version is actually a value pack along with touchwiz 4.0.
I wanted to root my phone but could not find anything on how to root for this kernel version.. neither on any of the threads..
so i would be grateful for any help..
P.S: well, this is my first post so please correct me if i'm wrong anywhere.
If it's a value pack fw, you *should* be able to root by flashing semaphore 2.7.4 through CWM. Saver should be a rooting toolkit(just search for it). Once you got it rooted, take a root explorer, open /system/build.prop and look for the build date. Post it here then.
please, dial this code and post results :

Maybe its an Asian region firmware.

where do you live please?
Maybe you can take a look at this:
this will teach you to install CWM and then you can use rooted ROMs afterward
wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide
Looks like the firmware is for INDIA though I dont see it on Kies now.
You can try flashing Semaphore 2.7.4sc kernel in ODIN.
I will wait for leaked one from Sammobile.
build info of the new firmware
@ everyone:
On dialing *#1234# the following popped up:
PDA : I9000DDJVB
PHONE : I9000DDJV7
CSC : I9000ODDJVB
Build info : wed Mar 21 13:23:31 KST 2012
Yeah, My region is Delhi,India
and my purpose of rooting the Galaxy s is to try out the new ics rom's out there.
Thanks
this firmware is now seeded in kies, so you can try and experiment with any other firmware and then go back to it (using kies or odin)

Hi guys, need your expert advise to understand something that's new to me....
Well been in this forum for quite some time ..(Back from HTC Diamond days...then HTC Desire, HTC Sensation etc..)
Flash numerous ROMs in all of those HTC devices.
Now, I've bought a second hand GS3 i9305 Titanium Grey for quite a good deal ! After buying I figured it doesn't have 'Software Update' inside 'About' Menu. So, by digging what I believe is, this devices has been rooted and 'may be' a different un-official rom had been flashed. Even the 'Samsung Kies' software tells that this firmware is not supported to auto update and..bla bla...
So, I had to find a way to go stock everything (ROM, MODEM, BOOTLOADER etc.) and start Fresh about rooting and stuff. But unlike HTC devices it's kinda ambiguous to me! So far I figured I want to:
1. Backup my IMEI (I've understood how to do so)
2. Find the exact official firmware.
After countless searching and reading (may be I'm dumb! ) I've reached this page:
HTML:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
... but completely lost as to which firmware version I should download. For Convenience please find below my device's information:
Model Number: GT-I9305
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband Version: I9305BVALI5
Kernel Version: 3.0.31 - 142435
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT sun Sep 9 02:08:20 KST 2012
Build Number: JRO033C.I9305XXALI5
If you guys help me to find out the correct stock firmware and also give me link(s) to definitive guide(s) would help me a lot! (I've read some Odin flash guides though, from I9300 thread. I believe the same guide is also applicable for I9305?)
Thanks for your time reading this, and advanced thanks for your Answers!

Here's a link to some firmware and in it is a link to find out what you're after. Although I don't think it particularly matters which region and stuff cause it's all official samsung stuff: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9305
As for flashing there's a million guides out there so I suggest you google it or go through here and find a thread about flashing back to stock for the i9305.
:good:
.. Thanks I Guess! ..
Hi everybody and thanks for reading and helping
I have a i8910 stock kernel, specifically:
Baseband: i8190XXAMA2
Kernel: 3.0.31-809600 [email protected]#2 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jan 9 16.20.48 KST 2013
Build: JZ054K.I8190XXAMA2
I've found the thread in which they say that i can change my kernel with one uptodate without rooting my device.
I had a couple of question:
1) Odin doesn't need an OPS file? (with my old gt i5500 it needed).
2) Can i flash any other kernel that is in the sammy updates page or i have some restriction due to the localization or other? And which one do i have to flash? (i.e. which is the latest...).
I'm from Italy, but my phone come from Poland (i know it's imported)
Thank you very much:good:

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I do not know if I'm in the right place, pardon the administrator.:crying:
I just posted here because I meet a problem with my note, I am on the forum Galaxy Note, but no one knows answer to my problem:
Whenever I want to do a conference in three merger and I have a message notes "conference has three possible" and on the website of my operator the option is enabled and says I can do up to 5 conferences
Before I was in this market LRT and then I did the wipes cache and dalvik wipe because the phone was very long, it is stopped to work out.
Then I spent a LT6, return LT1 and LRT now LT9 but it does not work.
Living abroad, this function is very useful to me, I read on different forum fr, us that this problem many people encounter and need to flash fixed the bug .... ?
If anyone can help me find a solution that would be great!
I wish you all a good weekend.
Rémy

After reading and researching for nearly a 1 week about N7000 Andriod Device ( i'm new to it) i finally picked up from a friend of mine the galaxy Note N7000, he said he already has updated it to jelly bean 4.1.2 which i confirmed through the settings menu but the device is running a little slow i'm thinking of rooting it then booting a custom rom + kernel (i'm new to that as well) here is the information about the phone by the way he picked it up from United Arab Emirates a couple of years ago. I found a lot of guides and tutorials on XDA but the last letter on the BUILD NUMBER doesnt match thus i cant proceed to root or do anything else cause all the devices that were used had LSZ and Mine has LSB i was wondering also if it has any impact on the phone, i have no idea what to do.
Thanks in advance.

Even i researched a lot abot rooting and found that my build number doesnt match with the given one.
then i found out that the build number depends on the region you live. it is different for different countries.
i now found the matching build number root zip file
but will it wipe all my data ??
