I have a newer T-Mobile HTC One that came with the 1.27.531.11 rom that could not achieve s-off but was able to flash the 1.27.531.8 T-Mobile rom and then use the all-in-one toolkit to get s-off. Right after this I flashed a revolution rom but didn't get the ota update back to .11 (which I should have done first). It took several hours to load files back onto the internal sd because there is no way to send the files using mass storage. Is there a way to go from my revolution rom back to stock tmobile so I can get the OTA update without losing my internal sd files? Or is there any other way to update without losing my data? Or is there a faster way of transferring backup data from my pc?

I'm in the same situation, trying to figure out if I can install it on my Bell IS (I'm unlocked on AT&T). Anybody tried it yet?
Can we install this OTA ROM on indian IS s-on?
How can I install this one?
I've got a S-ON Incredible S, tried to rename to PG32IMG.zip and put it at the root of my sd card but no luck.
So I've extracted firmware.zip inside the file and renamed to PG32IMG.zip. Incredible S upgraded my hboot and radio but no the os version and now I can't get my wifi working anymore (got error as soon as I turn on wifi).
If I were you, I would use the official RUU instead.

It will wipe your phone, but I think you will not be stuck in between 2 versions.
Just my 2 cents though
<EDIT>
That is, if you have a european IS, by the way.
</EDIT>
I'm trying right now, but if I launch the updater from booted os it gives me error 155 which readme says is an incorrect rom image for my phone.
If I try to upgrade from the HBOOT, the updater says I've got not enough battery (30% min) but my battery is full of charge.
Is your phone branded? I think this RUU is for unbranded phones only.. but I am not sure.
I'm trying with the goldcard method, it's flashing at the moment, I'll post my results as soon as it's finished
My phone screen was cracked this morning and the store said it would have to go through insurance for replacement. My phone is rooted and was looking for what needs to be done. I did a backup with TWRP and backed up all user files and system data with TI-Backup. My main questions are:
1. Do I need to set my phone back to stock, unrooted, and lock the bootloader? Easiest way to do this if so?
2. Are there any new updates/hboot that will make it harder to unlock and root the replacement? This one was unlocked and rooted with 1.29.651.10
Thank you
Okay Replacement came and hboot is 1.44, software version 1.31.651.2
Going to try unlocking and rooting the same way as before.
As for the old one I gues deleting any root apps like superSU and flashing a stock rom will get it locked and unrooted again?
Any help appreciated.
Since the new phone is 1.31, could there be issues restoring my 1.29 nandroid backup? Or should I so a rollback to stock 1.29 first?

As far as I know you can't restore a1.29 nandroid if your updated to1.31 due to touchscreen drivers being updated. You would be able to flash it on but have no touchscreen at all

If i'm not mistaken, 1.31 isn't the 4.3 update with the new firmware. The build for 4.3 is 3.04 so you should be fine restoring your nandroid. You shouldn't run into any touch screen issues.
S-off first

Hi, I'm new here. I need help restoring my HTC One back to the stock ROM. It is with virgin mobile in Canada. I'm trying to unlock my phone from virgin but having trouble and figure it can be from being on a stock ROM.
I have been reading for about an hour and searching for the stock RUU. Before I forget, I'm running OMNI ROM on android 4.4.2 and have CWM recovery installed.
Anyways back to topic. I couldn't find any RUU's for my device but read on here that you can restore using a nandroid backup if you can find one. Now me and my brother both got an HTC One at the same time but I went through so many ROMs and customizing it. I started with CWM and made a back up of the stock rom but kept getting errors with some ROMs so switched to TWRP and couldn't use it anymore. With android 4.4 I needed to go back to CWM but in some point when tesering ROMs I only had 3GB free of space so did a wipe and fresh install so I don't think that the original back up is still there somewhere.
Anyways. I have my brothers HTC One here and that's stock. Nothing modified what so ever. Can I make a nandroid back up or use a tool to extract the firmware from his phone and somehow use it to restore my phone back to stock, unroot, relock boot loader and get rid of the *tampered* flag in fast boot?
The phones still on contract, only had it for like 4 months and thinking of giving it back and getting an upgrade to the One Max or when the One 2 comes out but I don't think Virgin mobile will allow me to since the phones been tampered with.
Hi. I have created a Canadian stock thread. See of it helps. It is linked in my signature
I have been waiting for 4.4.2 before I rooted my One. Is there a way to backup everything before I do it? I know unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone, I am just trying to save the hassle of redoing everything if I can. I don't think there was a way to backup a stock ROM last time I did this.
This is my second One. The first was unlocked, rooted, S-off and running ARHD. I had a hardware issue and got the phone replaced via insurance (I bricked the phone trying to go back to stock) and HTC would not fix it because it was unlocked (should have kept my mouth shut!).
I am familiar with the tools to unlock/root my phone as of 4 or 5 months ago. Has anything changed or are there bettor tools/exploits now? I just want to run the stock ROM rooted and have no need for S-off.
Thanks in advance!

You can temporarily boot into a recovery rather than flash it and make a backup from there, including your stock recovery. If your unlocking and rooting your one, why do you not want S-Off. It's a get out of jail free card when everything else fails

Is there any way to do a full 'nandroid' backup directly to a PC over USB? The one downside I've found to HTC is if running the stock rom (but rooted), when updates come along, it's an epic pain in the neck to update. In order to update a rooted M7, you need to revert to non-rooted stock. To do that, you need a RUU. But in order for that to work, it needs to be =/> the version on the phone. For some reason, I'd swear the RUU I had was downloaded direct from HTC, but try as I might, I could not find a place to download a RUU From HTC today. When I tried to update my M7, the RUU that I had was older than what I had on the phone, so that failed, despite being S=OFF. I found a newer RUU than what I had, but that failed when trying to install it (one of the applications crashed on two different PCs). After a TON of searching, I finally found the same version I was running and was FINALLY able to get that to go and update to the latest release via two OTA updates.
What I'd like to do is take my current, 'un-molested' rom and back it up 0x000000 - 0xFFFFFFF (so to speak) via USB to my PC in such a way that when the next update comes out, I can then flash that backup back to the phone via USB, bringing it back to where it is now, totally stock, not rooted, etc, rather than trying to find some RUU that's =/> the version I'm now on in order to simply apply an update.
Is this possible?
I would consider a custom ROM. Back up directly to PC don't work afaik. But you can do the backup, then copy it to your PC.

Yes, it is possible but you will have to downgrade your hboot first. Once you have the phone back to stock and before putting on a custom recovery, you can make a nandroid backup of your stock rom & recovery.
1. Downgrade your hboot to 1.44 using the method posted in nkk71's 3rd post.
2. Put your device in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, type fastboot boot twrp.img ==> insert your custom recovery.img
This will boot your phone into the custom recovery.
3. Select backup and make a nandroid of your partitions. After it executes, then boot back into fastboot mode.
4. Return your hboot back to it's previous state. NOTE: you can pull the hboot out of a recent OTA.zip or firmware.zip and place it in a copy of the hboot zip you used earlier.
5. Copy the nandroid backup to your PC should you need it in the future.
6. Now you are free to install a custom recovery or rom knowing you have a pure stock nandroid backup to fall back on.
