ok first of all i have my sensation with hboot 1.28. i have been using Evervolve rom for a few month. i got bored yesterday and decided to flash a new rom. this is when stuff went wrong. i use TWRP recovery. after backing up everything, i did a factory reset, system wipe, etc. when i restart the device into bootloader, i can no longer boot into TWRP. as soon as recovery is selected, the white HTC screen pop up and the phone would vibrate 7 times and the white screen would persist for hours and nothing would happen. i tried flashing clockworkmod recovery and older versions of TWRP via fastboot. but it didnt solve my problem, i still cant boot into recovery. if i can get TWRP back online i can easily restore my system pls help ASAP. urgent.

Hi, I think before anything to do, use from droid explorer on PC and backup data from internal SD on your PC. Then I tell you what you can do.

Hi, I have a milestone and this morning the phone was just stuck on the logo.
I'm using stock rom and I didn't do any to it. But I have noticed the phone rebooting and hanging on itself when I update apps from the market. I do have androidrini (spellcheck?) recovery installed and when i try to restore my old backups, it says MDS check fail?
I managed to restore a very very old backup but it's still stuck on the logo. I'm afraid to wipe because I may lose the recovery menu.
Thanks!

When you wipe through OR or recovery, the phone's data is wiped clean. Your SD card stays the same way it was, so you will not lose OR at all.

I have a problem I haven't heard of yet.
I have a Vivid, S-OFF, Boot and SIM unlocked running CM 10 Official Nightly with TWRP 2.4.3 on T-Mobile.
Every other day the phone won't boot, just stays on HTC screen. I pull the battery and boot into recovery but nothing in recovery works. I can't restore backups or wipe anything and it says it appears no OS is installed.
In order to get it running I have to install CWM recovery and restore a backup I made with CWM.
Then a day later it starts all over again.
No idea what is going on but it's extremely frustrating.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
A lot of us are having problems with twrp 2.4.3.0. You could try the older 2.4.2.0 or flash WCX recovery. Last resort might even be reinstalling and starting fresh after you flash the different recovery

I have spent a day and a half trying to fix all of my issues before I finally turned here but I am at my wits end.
This all started with my attempt to flash Viper to my HTC one. I installed clockwork touch loaded Viper to the drive and went to install. During the install process something happened and my install failed. When I rebooted the phone it returned to the fasboot screen and there was no recovery present. I had heard that sometimes TWRP works better for installing some ROMs so I decided to switch courses and try that. Before installing I went and formatted cache, data, ect. When I tried to install Viper this time it appeared to be a successful install. However, I was once again I was returned to the fastboot screen and no recovery was present. I tried this a few more times with either clockwork or TWRP using sideload with no luck. I also trried using fastboot to flash a sprint stock recovery boot and image. When the phone rebooted it showed the white HTC Screen but nothing happened for a half hour so I restarted the phone again only to be dropped into the fastboot. I also tried locking and unlocking the boot loader and tried a Sprint HTC one RUU with no success.
So at this moment this is where I stand:
I am on the fastboot screen with no recovery.
HBOOT 1.56.0000
S-ON
Any help you can provide would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks for your time.

So I have my phone up an running on a stock RUU but I seem to have the same issues with and error when installing Viper. Any ideas as to what the issue could be?

... now that its up and running, i recommend you get s-off 1st. it eases many things. then flash twrp 2.7.0.4 recovery and try to flash viper :victory: ...
I was in this situation myself. If you can adb twrp recovery onto your phone. Dont try to flash viper with cwm it will mess stuff up. After you have a recovery loaded flash the viper rom. If it boots up be sure to check about phone section in the settings and see if there is a baseband version present. If not just flash the latest firmware and you should be good to go. This was what i had to do.
Same here, about a month ago. They really need to just remove that option to flash CWM. I managed to get a recovery installed, but now it seems like half the ROMs I try to flash won't boot. I don't even know what Rom I am using, because it has disappeared from XDA. It's a 4.4.2 Sense 5.5 ROM, and it is odexed and came with Xposed Installer. It's the only ROM that seems to work anymore, so I have to wonder if my firmware got messed up. I'm S-On, with no way to S-off for the foreseeable future until I can fix my laptop. Since my laptop is unavailable, I'm a bit hesitant to mess with the phone much more, since I can't fix it again without the computer.

I've read a number of these threads, and many have Viper in common. Viper by itself is an amazing ROM. Maybe too amazing... Incredible amount of customization. I have to remind myself occasionally that as much as I flash ROMs and lurk around here that I am not a dev.
I would do my best to achieve S-OFF if you have any plans for custom ROMs. It's always useful. I would also suggest trying one of the Sense 6 ROMs. They are all amazing.

S-OFF is necessary for some ROMs to work, although I'm not sure about Viper. Use firewater.

I am very sorry I know this is a slow response. So I tried to first root my phone so I could use firewater but I ran into issues. First, I tried to place supersu on the internal hard drive via windows but when I rebooted into recovery I was not able to find any of the folders I had access to. So i tried using side load but got errors that I could not mount cache and could not mount system. Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed?
I am very new to the entire rooting side of android and my first try at getting a custom rom went bad.
I have an htc one international variant. I successfully rooted it. After rooting i tried installing a custom rom called Android_Revolution_HD-One_62.0, which once installed via 'recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-m7' gave the installation prompts. after following them it just gets stuck in an endless boot loop alternating between htc logo screen and few seconds of clockwork mod screen.
I cleared all data, and cache before trying to install the above mentioned rom,
I made a backup of my stock version using the backup feature on clockwork mod but after failing with the custom rom, i tried to restore the back up but it gave me md5 mismatch issue.
So now I can't fix that issue on my phone and neither is the adb commands able to find my device to fix the md5 mismatch.
Please help me anyway possible.
Thank you

The ARHD thread says you need TWRP 2.6.3.3 recovery for 62.0. Try installing that, full wipe then reflash.

I am trying that out right now but it seems to always get stuck on the 'entering recovery' screen. I flashed TWRP 2.6.3.3 and erased cache after, but still this happens.

I recommend using 4EXT recovery. Also, try reinstalling the ROM.
But first, wipe everything (except SD card) and then install the ROM. Also, check the hboot.
Does it get stuck at the X logo? If yes, then boot to recovery and format boot + system, several times. This may be due to a corrupt boot + system file system. Then install the ROM.
