Hello everyone, this is my first participation in this forum, and I hope I can make something useful to the community.
I've always used the knowledge from here and now it is time to give something back.
I've changed a rom to make it bootable from safestrap, but I can't post it on the developer section due to my beginner status here and I am also waiting a response from the modder of this rom to let me publish it.
This rom is very stable, and it is based on a Latin American 2.3.6 Android with some tweaks to work on the brazilian network. Until now I noticed a huge improvement on the battery life compared to the stock rom.
So, what I wanted to know is if anyone will be interested in this rom if I have the permission to post it.

I believe our phone is not for people that use a lots of apps... =/

The battery life improved a lot!
I just wanted to know if it is my choice of daily apps that make my phone painfully slow sometimes or if it this phone 'feature'.
I will post the rom asap, thanks!
As soon as you provide the files, I can start testing.
Good to know that someone is trying to give some afterlife to our phones.
Thanks!

a bit of both. so many factors involved in getting an answer to that question.
simply, you can uninstall all your extra apps, and see how quick it is.. and as you start to use an app, if the system is boggy or slows down you would know which app is the cause.. but many times it could also be if you have all your data and sync settings and location settings all running.. though this usually is more of a battery drainer than a system bottleneck..
a new app that seems to help out a bit with keeping your programs and other apps from slowing down your system while they are not needing to be running is
greenify.. has worked well for me on many of my devices..

I just tried to make a joke, making my lagginess a feature of the phone...
So, I tried to contact the developer of the rom and I didn't get the answer...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I don't have the privigele to share my mod because of the forum rules...
Just for the sake of making this topic useful, I found a rom that suits my needs: the second post have a link to it.

Steel Droid is one of the best ones.

Maybe its because its a brazilian version.
I recommended that CM9 because its the first 4.0 android that works for me.

You should be posting this in the ROM thread, not here. I had the issue consistently since the first port, no idea why. Some people report not having the issue, but I think enough people have the problem for it to be condsidered a "known bug"...
I was running Tazz4/4.1 for over a week with acceptable issues. I used Google Voice for messaging so I did not really miss anything. I decided to switch back to AOSP 5/23 today because I needed Bluetooth working. It ran great especially with the .35 kernel though.
I will switch back as soon as Bluetooth is functional (hopefully soon).
Tazz 4.1 6/11/2011 No keyboard
I also like this rom, but am having a problem after installation. I was wondering if I may be doing something wrong or if others have had the problem of no keyboard after installation of Tazz 4.1 6/11/2011. I have followed the instructions for install, wiped everything (even reformatted) several times with the same result.
Yeah some have had the issue, I think it just takes a minute in settings to fix it. I installed it, no kb... Went into settings/keyboard/ and selected the htc_ime (I may have deselected it first) and then in a text field, long-press and select htc_ime and it should work fine.

Thanks for the quick response. When I go to settings/Language & Keyboard there is nothing to select it is blank. When I long press on a text field nothing happens. I will once again try reformatting, wiping everything and re-installing

One thing you MUST understand is that no ROM is perfect - the best ones have bugs too, so dont expect too much. However this ROM is quite good as an IOS ROM, though after a while you get bored with it. But whatever the case, it is quite a good ROM , few bugs only
So I would suggest it is a good ROM to use.
PS This is for your blog, isnt it? It is a handy guide

And also reading the comments is very useful in finding out the pros and cons of a ROM

Cm11 is still in development!
We reached the point that we have to make much tests to release a fully useable first build!
Not an alpha not a beta just a full release!
Everyone who says that WE are wanna-be dev is incorrect... if he/she can things do better ... ok start show off your skills! But never insult or start war if some one says anything about possible releases or things we never said! Im a member of that Team and can say for sure that's things will go on quicker 'n quicker we fix bugs do testings and have fun to give this cheap phone some KK power. We do this not for money we spent time as much as we have and like to work together... we arent committed to release anything! Nor we are committed to make everything be sure as we told... because things can change new possibilities can 'open' or 'close' , we try to give our best to make our LG L3 good as possible!

Please someone from Pure4dev releases an alpha version of Cm11 after all the majority of devs release, even with bugs, for users to test. I understand that the team wants to release an initial stable release, but release a alpha version for us (while the ROM is not stable) would not hurt nobody the Team, much less to us.

The answer you'll get is "NO". We all have to agree here that this is the fault of the Pure4Team. They gave promises, ETAs and other bullcrap to provide us hope for this device, but what they did didn't help them in the least. I am not bashing anyone, but they showed to be the most lousy "team" of developers I've seen in the couple past years since I am on XDA. I have been to many forums, either for me or friends, and not once have I seen someone so childish around here. I don't say that this CM11 they're building doesn't exist, but all they did is start a flame war. It's better to just shut up about something until it's released, than start all this asking about something that isn't yet ready. My two cents, don't ask about it until it's released.

PEPEREPPEPPEEEE here I am! But not for too long, I have to do stuff on a rockchip3188 device.
If you closely look at device/[vendor]/[codename]/ && vendor/[vendor]/[codename]/ (which are the MOST IMPORTANT folders when you build a CM) You'll notice they haven't been updated for 2 or 1 Months/Month.
This leaves us three possible ideas.
1) They don't update the source code
2) They don't work on those files (This means every driver is correctly working? Then I don't see why this infamous CM11 is unstable! Everything works!)
3) Don't know, from what I have seen before, I'd say they haven't even got the display working (or else why picture the terminal? Which didn't even need a camera, you could have just used Stamp R Sist, if you even know what that is)
So yeah, I'm happy people woke up and understood. I'm crying tears of joy.

But you're right. I'll have to try it by myself. I don't want to excuse myself but the thing is that I almost always use the phone with wifi all day long for giving internet conection to my PC, so, it's kinda difficult to try it by myself
That's one good reason for my question
EDIT: @mauam how can I know/realize which one isn't draining too much my battery? Sometimes you can't see the difference but it has to be, right? Even a little... How can I see that?

Don't know, maybe with wakelock detector app. I never feel/realize that my BB drain my battery, anyway. Regarding the BB location, for what I know, even if I'm in the same country as you (& using the same BB), but in different place it can affect the performance of BB. So, again, you need to try by yourself & take your own conclusions about which is the best for you.

I use CM11 from novafusion as daily driver (with is own kernel). BTW, better you start to read the XDA rules first. Not allowed to ask which is the best rom/kernel & use the search button before ask something. Don't take me wrong, you're new here so the best is read firstly the rules. I use CM11 from novafusion as daily driver (with is own kernel). BTW, better you start to read the XDA rules first. Not allowed to ask which is the best rom/kernel & use the search button before ask something. Don't take me wrong, you're new here so the best is read firstly the rules. Any doubts you can also PM me.

Thank you very much for your time, and thanks for warning. Thanks God i'm not asking which is the best rom or kernel... Just made a concrete question about a concrete geografical zone and modem performance.
Well... I wish some venezuelan partner could shares his own experience.
Greetings!
Hello
because my Touchpad, running CM9, got slower and slower I decided to clean it and put an Update on it.
I need a stable (as possible) ROM with working camera, wi-fi, sound and video acceleration. Bluetooth would be nice but not necessary.
I don't need new apps from newer versions, etc.
It's a 32 GB Version.
Which ROM would you suggest me and where to get it+gapps?
Thanks in advance!
With kind regards
Cosy
The I would suggest that you view the development thread where you will see the different roms for this device and links to gapps or whatever else you may need will be available in the Opening Post what people want or need is down to the user. There you will be able to read individual comments about what does or doesn't work and be able to make your own informed decision.
There are numerous development threads and I don't know which to read.
In addition I can't read a thread holding 250 pages of posts just to pick a ROM.
A little hint would be nice.

Here's a hint I'm using Milaq's KK Rom and you don't need to read 250 pages just the op and the last few or more if you feel like it.
But it comes down to you making an informed decision.

I would need the same, and I dont see a reason why you guys that tried all the roms could simple write down a version thats stable and functional, I dont care if its NAdroid 4.2, or 4.3. or 4.4, I just need a functional tablet that has a functional Skype, Netflix and wifi.
Is that a big problem to write, I dont have hours and hours of time to searc (which is useless) to figure out which rom. A small baby at home, work I have everyday, and really not spare time to waste on research.
I apologize in advance if someone gets ofended, but at the time when I was a kid I would spend hours messing online, now I dont have that anymore.
On topic - my biggest issue that the tablet is draining battery like crazy, and is totally glitchy, slows down, all though everything works, but slow and battery is ridiculous.

Well if you read my post which you have quoted you'll see that I did make a recommendation but if you you're after someone to wipe your bottom and put a cookie in your mouth it won't be me. It's the arrogance of people like yourself that makes me wonder why I or anybody else bothers to try and be helpful.
Have a nice weekend I know you've p***ed me of.

No check it yourself or ask someone that you haven't insulted.
And I would be obliged if you can stop quoting me. I really don't want anything to do with you especially as you are still taking the p***.

do you know if it's possible to upgrade directly from cm9 to cm10.1 (no wiping)?
