Hi,
Right... um where do i start.
Won a HTC one from work. I work for Orange/EE UK and HTC was faulty. Basically major chunks of corrupted code in the stock ROM.
So i rooted it pulled the whole thing apart (software speaking) fully cleaned out the phone and started from scratch with Android HD Revolution.
Noticed the other day 4.3 was now available so i flashed new rom but it was bugging my phone out so did a full wipe and went to re-install 4.2.2 and the thing got stuck in bootloop wouldnt even get past the boot loader.
So i formatted the whole thing and started from scratch but now my twrp wont respond. touchscreen will not work. Also flashed cmw to find that the internal sdcard will not mount and is not writing any info to it even when i adb push files to it there just not actually writing to the memory.
The last creepy thing. HBOOT has blank OS tried a getvar version-main command and its blank.
Am i right in thinking that this thing is basically broke beyond repair now or is there anything ive missed. BTW im on hboot 1.54 so no s-off and my CID is ORG001 so doesnt look like theres any RUU files either.
Help would be muchos appreciated.
Thanks
Kris
1.54 s-off
you are in luck, the " fone fun shop" have just managed to achieve s-off on 1.54 boot loader.give them a call and they will sort it for you.

Are they uk or us based? And is this the java card method?
The good thing about being s-on is that it's virtually impossible to brick your phone just flashing stuff.
It sounds like you may have corrupted your sdcard partition and more. Reformat using your PC, then reflash twrp, and try adb pushing the rom again. It should just be a matter of getting the storage partition properly restored and the right software onto the phone.
Please reply

Yeah fast boot is working but when I m trying to use the rumrunner to s-off it stops after 8 pouring messages and nothing happens now am on ATT Dev version 3.22.1540.1 , but bootloader shows a Blank , and hboot is 1.54 , can you please suggest me , what can I do from here on, can I use revone, to s-off? or flash something else to make this thing work,
Thanks for your Time.
Can you get into recovery? If not flash twrp. You'll need an unlocked bootloader to flash a custom recovery.

Yes I can boot into recovery, I installed CWM. My bootloader is unlocked too..
all I am trying to do is get back to stock rom of a device with cid : htc__001 and get s-off from there to go back to my stock att.
I changed my sid to GOOGl001 to install GE and then changed the rom and cid,and S-oned it, Trying to get to some rom where I can get S-off from rumrunner.
Any help would be great,
Thanks for your time..
I appreciate your help

Flash a custom Rom with a stock kernel. I s-off'd with Android Revolution 30. Just make sure your firmware version (mainver) matches up with the rumrunner version you downloaded.

Pretty sure that technique of "downgrading" firmware version is only meant to enable the use of RUU to restore to stock. Use the program to write back your the version your firmware actually matches, then try reflashing.
I know Orange does not have an RUU but you might want to try using this nandroid backup

Hey boss,
Well misctool only writes a variable that RUU's read from to verify your not downgrading it doesnt actually write firmware.
Plus flashing a rom will not flash firmware either.
I dont know whether your having the same problem as me but my issues came from a dirty flash which softbricked my phone. Because of this i formatted the SDcard erasimg a partition the the OSver is wrote to.
The firmware is still there just no visible because of the erase. Im currently in the process of downloading every single rumrunner firmware and flashing them till i get one to work.
Kris
ANy fix yet?
I'm having the exact same problem. Bootloader shows OS- 'Blank space'
Tried different sprint Ruu's but always gets Error 155 because of No os i guess.

it has nothing to do with the no - OS ... you just need to flash the firmware then the RUU
And your s-off no need to relock the bootloader like that

Error 155 means image error, your using the wrong RUU, as your s-off, you can flash any Sprint RUU you just need firmware first.
Missing OS number in the bootloader is a common problem due to flashing a custom recovery, its not a problem and doesn't effect the phone in anyway.

Decided to rewrite this as the problem is different now, not as bad, but a lot weirder! I can't get my head round whats up
Description of Problem
Right, so simplistically, the phone boots up, and you can use it (sort of) for about 30 seconds, before it reboots. Whilst its on, you can open apps, but there is definite issues with menu's not opening and you cant set a wallpaper, but its almost fully working. Then without any warning it just reboots, and does the same thing again.
I'm just confused at how it can boot up and almost fully work before rebooting. Failing to boot at all or bootlooping at the start animation, I can understand that, but not this.
Video of the Problem
What Caused the Issue
Its been a week or so since it first died, so I cant fully remember exact things that happened (I appreciate this will not be helpful!)
I had converted the phone to a google edition version using the tutorial here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781
Changed the MID and CID, flashed the bootloader, recovery and RUU and the whole thing worked great.
Then I got my Xperia Z, so wanted it back to stock to be sold. Problem is I locked the bootloader and went S-ON before flashing the stock bootloader because i'm an idiot! Then obviously it wouldn't boot due to locked bootloader and custom recovery, so I tried to flash stock RUU, failed naturally due to upgraded bootloader, so I unlocked the bootloader again, flashed stock, and now this happens
Things I've Tried
Factory Reset
Flashed Stock Roms (1.28 / 2.17 / 2.24 and google edition) via both flashable zip and CWM backups - flashing in fastboot doesnt work because of signature error
Revone to re S-OFF (On HBOOT 1.54 so get a -6 error)
Maybe some other things?
Does anyone have any ideas? Any help is appreciated at the moment, don't want to wait for S-OFF on 1.54 or a 2.24 RUU as that could mean a brick on my shelf for a while.
Can't you use revone to unlock? Or did you do s-on as well?
Edit: didn't mean to thank you there - this app is killing me..
Have you tried downgrading your firmware to give you the old 1.44 bootloader?

Thats what I thought, hence why I got a bit concerned earlier. Phones not fixed yet, stuck in a bootloop but my internet is slow for downloading firmwares
If you're unlocked, you should be able to flash a new recovery, and from there a new rom. You've probably mucked up something with the OS, so hopefully a wipe and flash should do the trick.

The partition tables are ******, dont know why, sd card partition is unreadable and an ADB sideload still causes bootloops, this phone is really messed up and i dont know what i did
Usually I can figure the problem out. No idea now. Going to try and get the SD card back and restore an RUU from a CWM backup, then RUU it and should be fixed!
Luckily I have my trusty Xperia Z to use whilst I sort this out!

Did you try formatting your sdcard partition from your computer? That sounds like the issue. Likely you corrupted something with all those changes. Remember revone is a hack, so it;s not 100% reliable.

Genius! Dont know how i didnt think of that. Now i have an accessible SD card, just still bootlooping, itll work with the 1.28 backup and then the RUU will correct everything I've messed up
Okay, this needs a bump since this problem is weird now. The phone boots, with a number of roms, but after about 15 seconds, crashes and reboots every single time, no matter what ROM.
I have wiped system, data, cache everything, and it still does this!
Any ideas? an RUU is out of the question since i am on 2.17 and there is no RUU

Sounds like a kernel or firmware conflict. Try flashing 2.24 and see if that helps.
Edit: n/m, just saw you're s-on. I think the problem is that you've got an incompatible mix of firmwares from trying to convert to GE. You need to get s-off again somehow.

I don't mean RUUs, I mean one of the custom firmware packages that you flash in fastboot. But you need to be s-off to do that. You did something like this when you converted to GE.
This is one of the risks of going s-off, unfortunately. It lets you do stuff to your phone that can really screw it up.

Going back to S-ON was my mistake, if this phone was still S-OFF I'd have been able to fix it. But i still cant explain why it bootloops? All I did was change the MID and CID, which are now back to stock (HTC_001) and (PN07100) but it still has the Google edition bootloader, surely if that was the issue then it wouldnt boot past the bootloader, so where does the issue lie?

It could be any number of things. You changed a lot going to GE, and with S-on, the phone is now doing all its usual security checks. Something somewhere got bollixed up. It could be the GE firmware is conflicting with your CID or MID.
One way or another, you've got to get back to s-off.

Thats the solution. Or a 2.24 RUU from HTC could also do it. But revone requires a booting phone, which mine cant do, doesnt work out of recovery unfortunately. and moonshine is only for older versions. Tempted to just put this phone on a shelf and wait for an RUU. Carry on using my Xperia Z

So, with all the excitement of just getting my HTC one on saturday, I got down to business today doing some rooting. This is not my first htc device, i owned the evo 4g before.
With that said, What I did was have a rooted stock rom. I never flashed a new rom to the phone at all. I was trying to do the HTC logo button hack, I downloaded the kernel and flashed away. well, now the problem is the phone will start up and get to where the lock screen should be, It will show the status bar at the top and thats it, hangs for about 20 seconds and then restarts
It constantly does this... I have just updated the sprint software maybe 1.31 something? it was OTA I did before rooting.
I have tried to sideload a rooted odexed stock rom and have not had any success. I also tried running the sprint RUU but it was for 1.29, so it got almost to the end and told me it couldnt do it.
I am working from a mac, but have access to PC if needed. I am using clockwork mod recovery and can still get into it. just stuck on where to go from here..
All help is appreciated, ive spent the last 7 hours trying to fix this problem!
Guys, I am without a phone until this issue is fixed, any and all help is appreciated!!!

Do you have a rom downloaded on your phone? Did you make nandroid? If yes just restore. Do you have otg cable? If yes, download a rom. Do full wipe, cache, dalvik cache, data, and system. Try flashing the rom from otg. What kernel did you flash?
Sent from my lair.
The guy who made the htc one logo hack made a kernel that he released, I flashed that on top of the stock sprint rom. I had a nandroid, but it got wiped. I do not have an OTG cable. I have tried to sideload various roms and I can get it to boot, but I get no cell signal, sometimes i get the error that the system is not responding and i have the option to wait or kill.
I have gotten into the baseband settings and see that I do not have a baseband in there, maybe thats the issue? Also I just took the 1.31 ota update, I am getting an error using the sprint RUU about the boot loader not being correct version. from the fastboot screen I have the following
perhaps bad boot.img??

A flashed kernel will overwrite your boot.img, so that really shouldn't be it. An RUU requires your bootloader be locked though, which is probably part of your issue.

Just tried using his RUU and im still getting the same thing, was able to get into settings breifly and it told me that it didnt know what baseband version there was. Any Ideas?
It keeps rebooting because of the system not responding, not getting any cell service at all

problem with that though, I do not see a windows executable from there. the other issue is im using a mac, as far as i know everything works the same when it comes to adb and fastboot.
How would I flash a zip file if I cannot access my recovery? for instance how do I push the file to my device? when i relock the phone, and try to enter recovery, i get routed right back to bootloader
Figured out the issue, turned out that the problem came from firmware being absent... I was able to reflash the firmware and away it went, able to get into the phone now and do what i please!
Thanks for all help from everyone!!!
Hello everyone,
This is my fisrt time writing in this forum, hope you guys can share some knowledge with me. Here is my issue:
I bought a HTC One to a guy a few weeks ago with barely no use. The thing is that I didn´t know at that time that the device was rooted with the MaximusHD. When I realized about it I reset my phone to factory settings and the new 4.3 3.22.1540.1 got installed. Thought it was ok but it is still doing some weird things so I decided to unroot the device to stock, also for warranty porpuses.
The problem comes when I try to download the RUU for my device due to I cannot find it. Should I do it through other method? Do I have to S-off to downgrade and install the RUU 1.29?
My phone is the following:
M7_UL PVT Ship S-On RH
Baseband 4A.17.3250.14
Hboot 1.54.0000
OpenDSP v31.120.274.0617
It is the european unlocked/international version bought in Spain.
I would really appreciate if someone could give a hand on this and guide me in through this process. I was an iPhone guy and now I'm freaking lost.
Thanks so much!

Your bootloader should already be unlocked, so simply get S-OFF using Rumrunner, then follow this guide.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to s-off my htc but it hasnt worked. So I downloaded the recovery stock version and after installing it, the device told me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i wanted to install supersu, i declined and then made a recovery. Phone looks like unrooted, although within the bootloader it still shows "tampered" and "Unlocked". The recovery mode that the phone had installed has disappeared so I dont know what to do now, should I continue to s-off the device and then put it down to hboot 1.44 and follow the unroot guide???
I would like to make sure my device is unrooted in order to gain warranty privilages just in case i need to send out my phone to htc...
Thanks!

You don't really have a choice, unless you have the RUU for your phone. Can you post the results of "fastboot getvar all" so we can try to figure out what to do.

Just a quick note here, "version-main: <blank>" I never like that.
BTW, when posting "fastboot getvar all" it's preferably to remove IMEI and s/n; we don't need to see that.
You should probably get s-off as @attanasi0 suggested and then run a "HTC__304" downgrade RUU. (You can only downgrade if you're S-Off)
Just my two cents

When you boot to bootloader does it also show nothing in OS (7th line down or so)? Can you remember the last OTA you took?

Right, it shows just OS- but nothing else...when i bought it the guy had installed the MaximusHD 13 and I updated through OTA to the MaximusHD 20 but wasnt going smooth so I reset it to factory settings and It installed the JB 4.3 (3.22.1540.1).
Today after trying to s-off without success, I downloaded the recovery stock version for the rom I had and flashed it and the recovery mode that I had before disappeared and the baseband upgraded to 4A.20...instead of the 4A.17 that I had before that. Did the guy who sold me the htc messed it up? is there anything I can do to set my device to factory settings?
Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it!

Well from the information available, you have
- hboot 1.54
- m7_ul
- PN0710000
- CID HTC__304
this would lead me to assume you have a 2.24.401.x based phone.
I would try to get one of the following Guru Reset ROM:
2.24.401.8 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
2.24.401.1 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-1-zip/
flash one of them in recovery, then follow the rumrunner steps to try to achieve S-Off.
If that is successful, then you can downgrade back to stock, using this RUU (exe): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
check your "fastboot getvar all" after that.
Once you've done all that you can use revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792) to remove "TAMPERED"
and also revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914) to get you're phone "LOCKED" if you so wish
Keep S-Off !!
PS: hit the thanks button if someone has helped you

Thanks for the help. I have downloaded the Rom you gave me the link for but I dunno how to flash it due to I lost access to the teamwin recovery mode and when I click recovery onto the bootloader it goes to a black screen with a caution simbol in red and I have to reboot it.
I have tried with the goomanager to flash that rom but it doesnt let me. Any advice in this regard? I can tell goomanager to find an open recovery script (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-m7.img), should i do this? Or Im gonna end up with a bricked phone?
Thanks!

"black screen with a caution simbol in red" that's stock recovery, you need to flash back a custom recovery. download (if you dont have one) from the xda threads, then enter bootloader (shut off phone, hold POWER + VOLDOWN) enter FASTBOOT, connect to PC and it should change to FASTBOOT USB
then
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY
then "install ZIP" in Aroma, deselect "stock recovery" so you don't need to flash it again.

No problem, TWRP you mentioned should work just fine. It's the same as installing a custom ROM. I havent used TWRP but it should say something like "install zip", then find the zip and flash away.
Hopefully, that will give you a chance to successfully run rumrunner; remember to read and follow the instructions to the letter!
Good luck and keep us posted (fingers crossed)

Well I installed the custom recovery, then flashed the stock rom 2.24.401.8 as you told me. Once I did that I ran rumrunner successfully gainning S-off.
Now I have to run the RUU but the one you suggested me is the "RUU M7 UL JB 50 HTC Europe 1.28.401.7 Radio 4A.13.3231.27 10.31.1131.05 Release 310878" but my radio is 4A.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04L. Should I try to install it anyways? I've taken a look at the rest of RUUs and none fits my features...
btw every time I flash the stock version at the end it tells me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i want to install supersu, i always say no and after that my recovery always goes to stock, i guess it is normal, isnt it?

Go ahead and flash it, it will downgrade everything (now possible thanks to S-Off), and you will then receive the latest OTA package(s) to get to the most current version including radio.

Hey! I have tried to lock it but after typing adb shell I get this "[email protected]:\ $" instead of the # that you are getting. I've tried to type "su" after that but it says that the command cannot be found. Also, when I type the code "echo -ne..." it says that I have permission denied so dunno what to do now...
Im asking in the lock/unlock threat but they just told me that its because im not rooted and that i have to install a recovery and install superuser in order to be able to introduce the code, dont really understand why I have to root it afer unrooted it :S

You should have LOCKED it before running the RUU, because that's what made you loose root.
So before proceeding, can you give me an update of your status:
bootloader: locked/relocked/unlocked?
tampered?
ROM?

Hi all,
I bought a used AT&T HTC one (M7) phone that has sat in a closet since it originally had 4.1.2. I'm pretty sure it was never rooted and I don't want to root it. I am trying to update android to 4.4.2 but when I click on AT&T Software update it flashes something momentarily and then does nothing. I contacted HTC and they told me to send it in for repair...but I don't want to be without a phone for 2 weeks.
Any advice?

Yes totally sure.
Good news. After talking with HTC rep and doing all their magic, and also doing a factory reset. Rebooting a dozen times, spinning around twice counter clockwise, and eating a raw egg...my phone decided to start updating. Who knows which one was the solution.

You also have to know that the updates aren't everywhere available at the same time. So perhaps you just have to wait

Contact At&t and tell them that you can't get updates. There can be a problem with the connection to the update server.
And you are sure that your phone wasn't / isn't rooted?

Also helped him a lot in this thread
My plan was to help him flash the 4.18.502.7 firmware and then the 4.18.502.7 RUU. He flashed the 4.18.502.7 firmware and then he never posted back there but preferred to post in other threads and start over.
Initially, his getvar was
Code:
version: 0.5
version-bootloader: [COLOR="Red"]1.44.0000[/COLOR]
version-baseband: 4T.24.3218.09
version -main: [COLOR="red"]4.18.502.7[/COLOR]
version-music: PVT SHIP S-ON
product: m7_ul
modelid: PN0712000
cidnum: 11111111
Where you can see a mismatch between version-main and bootloader version. Also phone is s-on but its obvious it was previously s-off and then turned back s-on. Helped him to flash the 4.18.502.7 firmware and getvar was then:
Code:
version: 0.5
version-bootloader: [B][COLOR="SeaGreen"]1.56.0000[/COLOR][/B]
version-baseband: 4T.24.3218.09
version -main: [B][COLOR="SeaGreen"]4.18.502.7[/COLOR][/B]
version-music: PVT SHIP S-ON
product: m7_ul

Phone is not stock hence why he can't update. Read above post and you'll understand. (hboot 1.44 and firmware 4.xx.502.x, SuperCID...)
Oh I know why he can't update. Its very simple....he has supercid (111111) he hasn't got the stock cidnumber. The only way is to change cidnum and to remove his root completely. Before he can do that he has to use sunshine I supose to gett s-off again to be able to change the cidnum. Than he just can use an RUU and everything should work.
Hi guys basically i messed up, I tried installing a ruu.zip rom via TWRP which got stuck.
I then hard reset the phone and now there is no OS.
I can boot into the bootloader and TWRP recovery (2.5.0.0)
I have tried to flash several roms via sideloading and OTG but they keep failing.
The phone was rooted and had a unlocked bootloader and was running 4.1.2 android stock.
As you can tell i'm quite the noob. any help would be appreciated.
Forgive me if im in the wrong thread etc

Enter to fastboot and post fastboot getvar all .
Don't forget to delete serialno and imei details on your post.

Then we can see how to help you.

no that's not what they meant, but it will do, that's not all the info though, does it list your CID in that list, usually HTC__XXX ?

I know he's using the wrong TWRP.
but......... im thinking this is his RUU (based on his current rom version and his baseband version)
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-33-1150-01_release_311663_signed_2_4-exe/
But to be sure I need his cid at least.
doesn't seem to know what he's doing with custom rom's, so this will put him back to stock, at least he'll have a working phone. :good:
EDIT: correction, that's not his RUU.

that is an M7_U ruu, and the OP is M7_UL... but right now RUU is irrelevant / a premature step
i can assume the OP is angry, frustrated, and panicking, so first priority would be to get his phone up and running, just to alleviate some of the tension... so let him flash a proper recovery for 4.4+ ROMs, then the installation will go fine, and then he's relaxed enough not to hit his phone with a hammer
