STOP! You have to backup your TA partition before unlocking your bootloader!!!
If you dont know much about programming your phone you probably shoudlnt do this.
Do some research before taking any steps from here

hello,
due to my stupidity, I blocked the sim unlock counter (over three trials).
this is not the pin code, this is the code to unlock permanently the phone.
Now, how do I unlock please?
Puk code from provider?

Ooops - sorry, my mistake. I have No idea what you would need to do, you could start by contacting your provider or Sony if Google search doesn't have the answer. Good Luck.

so read the first post again. no hard feelings.
edit: don't want to be another smartass as some on this forum, sorry.. if I read it correctly it is code to unlock phone that is SIM LOCKED to a network and hard reset will not help in this case.
Yeah well maybe it's that one, it isn't very clear though.
Unlock phone
The sony unlock bootloader pages refer to the procedure of unlocking the phone, but they go on to say something along the lines of- if you don't get the code right you are permanently locked. Was that what you were attempting?
Same problem here
I want to reset the counter too but I don't know how. I have the code to unlocke my phone to ant network but I have no more attemps.. Is there any solution to that problem?
Afaik there exists an unblock code as well for such cases, you need to ask the provider of the unlock code for that second code and a tutorial how to enter it. However, most unlock code providers state in their howtos that most devices have 10 attempts to enter the sim unlock code before you get blocked and you should only use up to five, and make a video proof that the code does not work, then they will either provide the unblock code, help you with the procedure or refund your money if they can not help.

Hi
If you bought your XZ from Handtec, would you check whether you have unlockable bootloader for me?
Thanks in advance!
You can check it by doing this:
First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
Please tell me whether it says yes or no. Thanks so much!

I brought mine from a network provider (three uk), that is not allow to unlock bootloader.
I think once I unlock the sim card lock, it will allow me to unlock the bootloader.
Guys need your help about this matter, I just bought my xperia z1 a week ago and i already rooted it... So my question is can i still back up my TA? I did not tamper my bootloader..how will i know if my bootloader is unlocked?
My process in rooting my xperia z1 is:
1st I downgrade my xperia z1 in 14.1.G.1.534 firmware and rooted it using vroot then upgrade it to the latest firmware which is 14.1.G.2.257... BTW I uninstall the vroot superuser because it's in chinese language and I can't understand it, but I replaced it Superuser in playstore and it works fine!...Thanks~

unless u visited the bootloader unlock website and requested for a key which involved keying in your imei number and then using fastboot to unlock bootloader, it's fine...
u can verify by checking if bravie engine works... or dial *#*#7378423#*#* and going to service info > config > rooting status

1. visit bootloader unlock website
2. key in your imei number
3. receive an email with unlock code
4. FINDING & INSTALLING FASTBOOT DRIVERS, while phone is in Fastboot state
5. entering bootloader unlock command with a very long and complicated unlock code
so yea... like Greg said... there's no way u can "accidentally unlock" it
So I've unlocked the bootloader on my xperia Z the official way. Entered the unlock key and it was successful.
However, if I try to write a recovery in fastboot I get the error : Remote: not allowed.
I have made sure I have the correct drivers and all but it still doesn't work. Even tried unlocking it again with a second unlock key.
How can I fix this?

not only allowed or not
if you have locked bootloader it says it is allowed
if you have unlocked bootloader it says that your bootloader is unlocked
you can check your bootloader by this way , cause your error determines that u have lockbootloader

Unlock bootloader without losing DRM keys
Hey guys
I have a similar problem. I want to flash DoomLord's custom kernel but the command is not allowed. I found out bootloader unlock allowed does not mean it is unlocked yet, so that is the problem why it is not allowed. However, I do want to backup my DRM keys first. Is this possible? My phone was rooted before I flashed 4.3, so it is not rooted anymore.
Oh I have a Xperia Z 4.3 c6603 flashed with the ftf supplied by doomlord.

u welcome!
just checked the screenshot says that BL unlock allowed: status YES which define that ur BL (bootloader) is not unlocked yet!
make sure u are using the appropriate tool that works for ur device after u get the BL code from Sony, then follow the instructions in Sony where u got the information about unlocking BL
first off... do not proceed with bl unlock until you backup your TA partition cuz u might brick ur phone after the unlock is done if something goes wrong!
is it's not really recommended... u can still root it with a locked bl and enjoy ROOT privileges... FYI, unlocking bl will erase DRM keys and might affect on ur TA partition too.... so keep in mind that Bravia Engine2 along with Track ID will stop working after unlocking ur BL
TA Partition backup

I know that, just wanted to point the fact that on unlocked bootloader you can't have Bravia Engine. You can restore it, but along with locking bootloader again.
