Hi there,
For a long time I used GingerDX v31b(Stock kernel), now I'm using a GingerDX v31b(2.6.29.6-nAa-14 kernel).
Videos recorded on the GingerDX v31b(Stock kernel) had an .3gp extension, now on GingerDX v31b(2.6.29.6-nAa-14 kernel) they are .m4v
In my opinion, video quality is different from each other.
1. Why the same ROM(GingerdxV31b) have another video extension?
2. Its ROM or Kernel fault?
3. Its possible to change it back without changing rom and kernel?
I´m currently at stock kernel and stock rom, and my videos are recorded in .mp4
I´d like to know about that as well.

Rom
I used this
I used Semaphore kernel 2.5.0. (Mostly because it was Voodoo sound compatible, makes a huge difference)
I found the kernel to be very stable. You can install 2.5.0 or 2.5.0bm (more ram but no 720p video recording in the bm version)

ROM:[ICS][4.0.4] Doc's Master ICS V11
when I play 720p vidoes with MX player like a movie or TV show It plays suing S/W decoder not H/W decoder .I have tried other roms with patches but it didnt work.
Another point:
[ICS][4.0.4] Doc's Master ICS V11 changelog:
720p Patched for BigMem Kernels
should i install BigMem kernel to activate the patch or not?
IF the kernel is available Iwill be pleased to have the link
or IF there is another ICS ROM solve the problem Please tell me
Thanks every one

Try overclocking or at least changing cpu and i/o governors.
Also, I'd recommend you using NX-Kernel on AOSP roms, it makes everything more fluid
