I cant go in that menu! I cant even get a light, sound or vibration when turning on! Nothing works!
1more rom manager victim..uhhh...u bricked ur phone dude..go sent it back for warranty..
Sent from public phone using 10cents.
if it can't go to a download mode, then it's hard brick.. best isbring it to a service center if it has a warranty
you shouldn't have use rom manager it's a lot of bugs with our phone if u wanna flash roms then flash CW recovery... then flash from there.. try to flash ur phone to the stock rom using odin put your phone to download mode HOLD down volume down button + power + center button... if it doesnt go to download mode then its hard bricked
what about usb jigs? can they help?
there might be a way to unbrick: try this:
1. Remove your battery, SD Card and SIM
2. Without battery inserted press the Download Mode combo (Volume Down + Middle + Power Key)
3. While keeping the buttons pressed insert the battery back in the phone.
4. Now if you're lucky your phone will enter the download mode and you are able to flash a new ROM.
5. Flash a FULL ROM!!! not a One Package ROM!
Good Luck!
Hi,
I bought galaxy ace a week ago... updated via the latest gingerbread 2.3.6. (official way). After few days of testing the phone I found out that it is quite slow therefore I decided to root it... there is the problem, I cannot enter to recovery menu (home + power), even to download menu (home + vol down + power), everytime I hold the above mentioned combination I got soft reset of the phone... no menu, no nothing. I could not find anything on the web.. Could you help me how to enter to recovery menu OR how to root to CM7.2. a CWM without entering to recovery menu.
I believe the recovery menu has been blocked with new gingerbread 2.3.6.
Thank you.
I don't think so (about the blocked recovery) ..u go on trying dude ..recovery mode is a bit tougher to get in stock rom ..u should get it on the 10th attempt ( at least) I believe ..btw there are rooting guides in this forum ...check them out
Proud to own an ANDROID
Prouder to be a part of XDA
does it mean that i should hold power + home for 10 soft restarts?
I think so here's a tip press the home button first ..keep it pressed and then press the power button UNTILL THE SCREEN COMES ON...recovery mode is tougher to get in stock rom(well at least for me )..in cm7 its nothing ..

I tried to soft restart 10 times no luck... even with your tip...can anyone else help me please?
only odin can help you as if you are not able to get into any kind of recovery and want cwm then odin is the only path for you .. do backup contacts, sms if you want
all other things will be lost..
and if you don't want to loose things then choose to skip rooting and love what you have now
and 2.3.6 haven't blocked recovery btw as i am using it
I cant use ODIN as I cannot access to download menu (vol down + home + power). Anyone else who can me advice?
turn your phone off!
Now without pressing the power button!
Hold the center button and plug your charger!
Still does not work, any other solution?
Try this if you have root access then install ROM toolbox from the market and try going into recovery via the app

Dude read the post properly I guess he's on stock rom and the only way of rooting gingerbread is the update.zip method ( correct me if I'm wrong ) ..so there's no way he could have root access ...

HE CANNOT ENTER RECOVERY MODE!
If you bought that way you should take it back show problem and let service take care of that!
Say that you were trying to do a factory reset when you found out that you coudn´t enter recovery mode!
I'm on stock ROM, just flashed this morning using ODIN. Even root will go then. To go into recovery press the home+power button till the phone turns on, leave the power button not the home button. You should land up in recovery. If that doesn't work then try using ADB. Go to adb with your phone normally on:
adb reboot recovery
but try flash recovery again
to enter fastboot:
adb reboot bootloader
And if You've worked with ODIN then download a new bootloader and flash it using ODIN.I think (not sure) the problem is with secondary bootloader (SBL).Put the phone into download mode using ADB:
adb reboot download
This will put your phone in download mode. Check Odin now, and if ID:COM has turned yellow, you’re good to gnce you’re satisfied, press the Start button on Odin. The flash will take couple of seconds, after which your phone will reboot automatically.
That’s it. This should fix your download and recovery mode 3-button combo issue. You can now apply any mods with the normal procedure.

You had mentioned updating to 2.3.6 in the official way? Kies or Service center? If Kies then did you get the download mode when it was updating? And No, Recovery is not blocked on 2.3.6

there is also an app in market ... quick boot or speed boot something like that...
and it DOESNT need root permission (long time no use so dont remember exactly but it should be)
u can try that
I had the same problem, but luckily I found this thread.
I can enter to recovery ONLY with adb reboot recovery command, pressing home button does nothing.
I installed I897UCJF6-final-CSO REV0 it is Odin3 One-Click downloader and I started it on the PC and USB cable for mobile in PC and installed it. Hi , if you can get into recovery try reflashing ....if you cannot get into recovery you will probably have to get into download mode and flash a stock rom .

you will have to buy a usb jig(ebay £2) this will force download mode.
As long as it boots up, there is no problem. Try the following (you will need some help):
1. Pull the battery
2. Press Volume down+Homebutton+Power at the same time
3. Let a friend put the battery back into the phone while you are pressing the buttons.
Maybe the phone will go into DL mode so you can flash a new ROM. I advise you to flash a clean stock ROM from sammobile.
If this doesn't work, you will need a JIG.
Cheers!
Hi,
How could i flash Custom ROM with Odin..
Because
1. I am not able to go into recovery mode by holding Volume up+Volume Down+Power Buttons
2. I could not reboot into recovery mode using adb commands (stuck at at&t screen)
3. I could not reboot into recovery by flashing any kernel with CWM.. obviously i have to use volume up+Volume Down+Power Buttons again :-(
I am able to flash stock ROM through ODIN 1 click downloader (currently on I897UCKI2)..and its the only way i could flash a ROM now..
So is there a way to install custom rom through ODIN ?
Please help...
If you can get into download mode (power off, hold V+/V-, insert USB), you can try flashing a ROM via Heimdall. Apex 12.5 has a package you can flash from Heimdall.
You can also try Mosaic 9, as that has an Odin-based installer package.

Hey,
I'm using samsung galaxy star s5282. I rooted this phone 2 days ago. Everything went good until today when i was i my class it suddenly switched off. When i rebooted it, it hang on the samsung logo.
I tried to boot into cwm recovery mode by pressing v+, home, power but it boots into default system recovery mode.
I again flashed cwm recovery many times using odin but it dosent work. Odin shows pass but when i reboot my phone in cwm recovery mode my phone enters in default system recovery mode.
What should i do please please please help.....
Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install.
applies to all recoveries
cheers

Surenda 1863,
I had exactly the same problem and it took me almost one week of fiiddling and searching the Web to solve it.
The solution was in front me since day ONE : install ODIN on the PC !
In my case, I had I had accidentally wiped out the stock ROM and the tablet was hopelessly frozen on the download mode. I couldn't turn it off to boot it back with any of the usual buttons ( Volume , Home, Power)
I made the wrong assumption that since my PC didn't see the tablet, it couldn't connect to Odin either . I was wrong!
Here is what you have to do:
1. Install Odin on your PC. Connect the tablet to it. You will see that Odin sees the tablet because there will be a caption saying "added" on the top left.
2. Press the AP tab button at the right to go to the location where your Stock ROM is. The stock ROM file will have an MD5 ending.
3 Once the file is loaded (next to the AP button) just press Start. You will see the DOWNLOAD bar gradually filling up on the tablet and at the top left of ODIN.
4. When the operation is terminated, you will see a caption " PASSED" at the top left of he Odin screen and the tablet will automatically boot up to the HOME screen.
As simple as this! I didn't even have to worry about flashing the TWRP ( or CWR) recovery system, probably because the OS ROM was already wiped out. May be your case is different. I only know that in my case it worked like a charm.

Heys guys ive got a problem with my S5830i, i wanted to flash AceCream v1 for the second time but at some point i failed, (i flashed it succesfully first time)
now my phone is Rebooting everytime and black brick appears on the screen covering 4/5 of the Galaxy ace logo
whenever i try to go into CWM, it just reboots.
I've tried odin, won't even connect to the phone.
Does anyone know how o fix that? Help would be really appreciated.

yes maybe just a soft one. You do know how to use Odin, right? You can flash a stock firmware, there's one thread who has stock firmware just follow the instructions from there. try this. Hope you fix your ace in no time :good:

Try installing the Samsung drivers yourself, I think there is one in Sammobile.com. Not sure though, or just try visiting samsung's website and download the drivers.
Just Google for Samsung mobile usb driver, i have just downloaded it few hours ago.
