Hi guys, this is a replica post which i posted in the wrong forum. Many apologies
Device: GT-I9305
system: LS JB 4.2.2
Baseband: I9305XXBLL5
Screen Stucked in "turning on wifi" when i slide to turn on my wifi.
This happens with my stock ROM, did a factory reset and did not solve the problem.
Decided to root and install custom ROM. The problem still persists.
Searched the web, got information on replacing WIFI files in /etc, did it and it did not work.
Tried sending in my phone to Samsung Service Centre in Bangkok (with stock rom), and the staff told me that they can try to fix it but not 100% sure to be able to resolve the problem. Thus bringing my phone back home again.
searched the web again and read something about EFS files.
there are no files in the WIFI folder in /efs in my situation.
IMEI and everything else is normal except the WIFI folder.
i will like to seek advise on how can i resolve my WIFI issue as i am really lost and not knowing what to do next.
EFS is not Wifi the wifi only contains mac info like /
5c:0a:5b:2b:7a:d3
WiFi is kernel based you can try a custom kernel or any kernel ,
Suggest flash stock rom as per the return to stock for warranty guide .
Test if it fails its hardware .

Hello
For a week I have no resale (my card works on another phone)
I look long on the side of APN and did a factory reset and flash JM5 JS5
Nothing worked
So I decide to check my IMEI
When I type * # 06 #
There EMEI writing and my number is not displayed (just ok)
When I type * # 1234 # phone and I like the basic version: unknow
I have therefore concluded that the problem comes from the EFS folder
So I tried to restore my file with efs previous backups: this not work (I used root and explore the toolbox and the Galaxy App Unlock)
I have, there are three months, unlocked for SGS
I looked in / efs / .imei> I have the correct imei
In / efs / imei / mps_code.dat> SER
My sim card is not recognized
Someone you it would be a solution or idea?
In advance thank you
Help me!
Cordially
Julien
up please !
In English fail to understand actual problem .
jje
I also have some difficulties to understand the problem. Presumably 3G data connection isn't working? Double check your APN settings (remove old and make new) and try enabling "Data roaming"..
Was it working previously? And you have correct modem for your region etc etc..give little more information so it's easier to help.
My english is very bad. sorry
I will try to translate without google ^^"
My problem is :
-my simcard is not detected > no network (phone sms EDGE 3g 3g+ ...)
-I have no IMEI when I type *#06# in phone > My IMEI number is not display (just ok display)
-in settings > Information > version bande de base > unknow
-when I type *#1234* > phone display unknow
-my apn are correct (verified with samfirmware and official site of telephone operator)
Before I didn't have this problem : the problem appear during a night (i just charge the phone) > in darky 9.5, dark voodoo, lagfix ON
I try to do a hard reset and jm5 flash (with repartition) and restore my efs folder for try to resolve the problem but didn't work
Please help me
If you want more details > just ask
I advance I thank you

i'm having the same issue, I have tried reinstalling the software as other posts suggested but I could not resolve the issue, The airplane mode won't go away.
I am not alone. What rom you try before have this bug?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Looks like you install a Darky rom then got problems so you should ask darky .
Undo Lagfix .
Flash to a stock rom via Odin with pit 512 and repartition checked .
jje
I send a message to darky in xda dev
I will post his reponse when I receive it
Be patient
We will speak with Gtalk
Any word from Darky cause I got the same problem would like to know if there is a solution for this.
In about phone whats your baseband version? If it says unknown you hard a radio issue, can flash one in heimdall or just reflash a stock ROM and see if that fixes it
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I try a lot of ROM samsung
I speak with Darky> no ideas
I post on Darkyrom.com
Do you have an efs backup with the good imei ? If you have , flash another odin rom like EZROM with repartition , than install root explorer or other stuff and replace the efs with the correct one .
Had a similar problem installed Darky 9.5 from 2.1 and everything was fine but as soon as i activate voodoo lagfix my imei changes to unknown turn it off and everything is fine again
I am going to return my Galaxy Samsung S to get a refund - it's originally from Belgium and it has printed on the back - Samsung - With google tm - Movistar.
What firmware settings do i have to have to be able for them to accept my phone under it's warranty and to give me a refund or repair the phone.
I flashed to every opp system and kernel I could ... and none of them worked ... please could someone who has a phone from Belgium tell me their settings?? so i can flash them back
This would be a great help.
I also suggest that the settings i have now are the best - most stable firmware settings - and they are:
Firmware: 2.2.1
Baseband: I9000XXJPU
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 hardcore (AT) speedmod-k13c-500hz #24
Build: FROYO - XXJPU
THANKS SO MUCH
(i can't post this as apparently i have outside links in my post - clearly you can see your auto link checking software in this forum is wrong)
What is wrong with your phone in the first place?
Oh well - it freezes every 5 minutes
then it started to have kernel panics every 5 minutes after upgrading to ginerbread
then i went back to 2.2.1 and it's only freezing every 10 minutes
it would freeze when ever i opened any task for the first time ... and also randomly ...
it have been stuck in boot up loops
sometimes the screen just goes blank with no response
the first time it froze was when i was trying to write a text message ... and the phone would immediately just crash ...
perhaps it's me! i don't know but i've tried every setup i know ... and nothing was good enough to call my phone a usable functioning piece of electronics
this gets said way too many times.
the way to fix a broken phone, is a firmware with all 3 files, 512PIT and re-partition checked.
guaranteed to fix you up

Thanks this is great - but yes i have tried this ... and it didn't change anything
however what i need to know ... is what firmware settings will be accepted by the belgian supplier so that they will not disagree to fix my phone (basically replace it)
out of interest - i also noted that it doesn't happen when the sim card is not in .... however what use is a phone without a sim card
Hi all, I have messed up my Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 (Aus-Optus-CDMA) trying to flash. I managed to get it going on the following FROYO.XXJME Version 2.2 Kernel 2.6.32.9 rootatSEI-28 #1
Unfortunately I did not do a full backup!
My problem is now,
1/ No imei shown
2/ No serial number shown
3/ Not recognize my sim card
4/ Tab reboots regularly
Have done the factory reset however I am not sure if due to my flashing is it the original rom?
I have the imei written but cannot get the Tab to find it, thus cannot connect to Kies to get the samsung updates which would fix things, "I think".
Can anyone help
Thanks

Did you flash with ODIN?
Did you get an error message?
Have you tried re-flashing to a stock ROM?
You should read through the following thread before flashing anything else
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888071&highlight=no+imei+after+flash
And you are correct in assuming that a factory reset would only re flash the ROM you "replaced" your stock ROM with.
Also remember that using the SEARCH button usually will get you a lot more answers than just waiting on a reply here.
Did you unlock the tab first, no network lock, no sim lock... If you didn't this may explain whats happened. Don't know how you're gonna fix though....
Your Gtab is also NOT a CDMA tab, its GSM as you use a sim card... You may have bricked it if you flashed a CDMA rom.... Lucky if it starts up at all...
You need to tell us more info, what rom you flashed, how you flashed it - ODIN, Heimdall , Kies or just by pure magic. Then you might get more help....
the /efs folder contains all information/numbers about your gt including IME, mac address, bluetooth,etc.. It may have been deleted yet there should be a bak file inside the folder. since you are able to boot as you mentioned then you can still go into download mode and reflash a ROM?
Hi "theREDlegion" & thanks for your time.
Yes I did flash with Odin.
I got a red FAIL in Odin & an error message, trying to remember what it said exactly.
I am not sure which is the correct ROM to use for me here in Australia, CSC file & Pit etc, I'm kinda new to this stuff.......as you guessed!
I rooted the Tab with z4root, then used the repair nv_data to unlock the network which was succesful, so it said by entering the code.
So will the "Gingerbread" ROM work on my Tab?
I tried P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJPZ_HOME.tar which failed.
Thanks again.
Hi ultramag69, appreciate your help.
I was installing a game when my Tab froze. No matter what I did I could not get it to respond. This is why I thought lets try & install Gingerbread. I managed to get it connected to the PC, however I am not sure if I did as you said "sim unlock". I did the network unlock. My Tab runs okay now but will loop boot when idol for 30 sec. I still whish to do Gingerbread if it is possible, or "overcome"
Thanks again.
Hi bongski55, thanks for your assisstance.
I have the backup of the efs & the files in it are dated 27/10/2010 which would indicate they are the originals. I have replaced the new efs files with these but still no change.
Not sure which file is the imei info though.
Here is my plan,
1/ Do factory reset - this will allow me to reroot
2/ Root the Tab & unlock network, learn how to unlock sim?
3/ Remove SD & SIM cards.
4/ Use Odin to flash with Gingerbread, I think I have the right ROM!
Wot u think!!!!!!!!!
Is your bootloader safe? Do you know what your original firmware version was ?
edit for my english: is "was" at the good place in the second sentence?
You've tried chainfire's safe rom, have you checked out the overcome thread, there's a safe rom you can install through ODIN there too... Might work. Also, do a search for Telstra rom, might take back to stock Froyo but with all the Telstra bloatware, I started on this.
After you take back to Froyo stock you can try again for GB. Can't say if this will work though as you have an Optus tab, mine was Telstra from the start...
Good luck...
Without restoring the efs folder CORRECTLY. All your efforts are futile. Follow this thread to restore /efs folder: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859914. Reboot your phone, Charge it and try flashing a stock ROM.
Some very helpful information has been posted here, thanks to the very helpful members of xda.
If I was in your shoes I would do the following:
1) Follow the link provided by DarkPal in post 10, complete the steps necessary to restore the efs folder.
2) Follow the link I provided in post 2 and confirm your bootloaders and take necessary actions to patch if necessary.
3) Your device (on Optus) should be WCDMA/GSM. I would go over the OVERCOME thread and follow instructions on flashing a stock safe rom and attempt to flash the OVERCOME rom. It is important to follow the instructions step by step for a successful flash. The OVERCOME guide is very detailed, if you follow it correctly you should not have any issues with the flash.
Do post back your results and good luck.

Thanks for your help so far,
I have been able to find the backup of my efs/ which was created during unlock process.
Thank god.........I have now done this, patched bootloader.
1/ Used Overcome safe rom & flashed
2/ Flashed to Overcome "Jupiter" v3.3.0 & changed file system to ext4
3/ restored efs/
4/ My imei is now back to original....Yippee....also is my serial number.
Now when I boot it gives me full bars of service & Yes Optus on the screen..Great!
But I still canNOT connect. My Wifi works fine.
I notice my IMEI SV is now 05 but was originally 01.
I am not sure how to see what csc I have & don't know if it matters?
Any suggestions....
Cheers
Google "optus apn settings" and check yours (settings, wireless network, apn).
Check if wireless mode is auto.
What is your baseband (modem version)?
Because you see optus on your screen, your voice service is fine, but no data connection means your apn values are incorrect or missing.

Good morning all, well I would like to thank everyone on this forum, particularly those who have promptly responded to my questions.
I am glad to say that after 3 days of stress I have finally got my Galaxy Tab back on the Optus Australia internet service, I had to change the APN from Optus (Internet) to Optus (connectcap) in the Access Point Names & also at the bottom of those settings I had to select Internet. The connectcap option is not there by default, you have to add a new APN & choose these settings. My sim card is a data plan only.
So I now have my Tab running Overcome Jupiter, thanks guys, love your work, on the ext4 file system and already it is noticably faster.
Now......probably a good time to do a proper backup......yep I'm learning!
So thanks again everyone.
Dear XDA I9070 experts I really need some help here.
First I want to apologize if I have some errors, my english is not very good, so sorry about that, I will try to do my best to explain and give the best background information if anyone can help me.
My actual phone is an Motorola Atrix 2, and I have flashed roms several times following the procedures explained on the threads here in this awesome site XDA step by step. So being able to flash roms with no problem at all I tried to do the same on my wifes old Samsung I9070.
I followed a thread that explained how to flash a ROM from GB to Kit Kat for the I9070 step by step here on XDA. The thread is this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198341
It all went fine but being that the phone was not being used by anybody I forgot to insert a SIM CARD before the flashing procedure. I really don't know if that makes a difference, but when the mobile booted the first time after the ROM flashing I inserted my SIM card and to my surprise I didnt recognized it... booted the phone again several times and nothing, but the SIM card is being detected right away on my Motorola.
So I tried to do some research about that and some people suggested to go back to stock firmware, and others told that it was a problem with the EFS folder.
So I tried going back to stock JB with ODIN, but this time with the SIM CARD inserted, and nothing, the same problem. So I tried inspecting the EFS folder and I think that is the problem but I need some advice on this.
The EFS FOLDER has this content:
A bunch of files named CRYPTPROP...
DECRYPT_KEY
ESSIV
GUARDFIL
NV.LOG
NV_DATA.BIN.MD5
And some folders inside... Thats all. I didnt made any backups of the phone or the EFS folder
So I tried using the code *#06# and it gives a valid IMEI 3544******* etc
I really don't know how the phone still shows a valid IMEI with the file NV_DATA.BIN missing, so I checked the phone information and found this:
Inside SETTINGS:
MODEL NUMBER: GT-I9070
ANDROID VERSION: 4.1.2
BASEBAND VERSION: I9070XXLQL
KERNEL VERSION: 3.0.31 - 1485715
BUILD NUMBER: JZO54K.I9070XXLQL
Inside SETTINGS - STATUS:
NETWORK: UNKNOWN
SERVICE STATE: OUT OF SERVICE
MOBILE NETWORK STATE: DISCONNECTED
MY PHONE NUMBER: UNKNOWN
IMEI: 3544******
Maybe the EFS folder is not all bad, I really dont know, please I need some advice here. My motorola screen is dying and I need to recover this one as it is a good phone. Thanks in advance for your help.

What JB rom did you flash? Link? Perhaps any Baseband problem ... and where are you from?

Thank you Flo0008 for you help... I used a firmware from Sammobile... this one exactly I9070XXLQL_I9070ITVLQ5_ITV as it was one of the more recent ones.
By the way I'm from Venezuela, but I bought the phone new and unlocked from amazon, the phone is in mint condition and my wife used it for more than a year without any problems, also we use the same carrier... it was not used anymore since December 2013 and recently I charged it for a full battery and did the firmware flashing and since then I'm facing the No SIM card, Insert SIM card message.
Could it be the firmware I selected I9070XXLQL_I9070ITVLQ5_ITV the problem?... It's from Italy... maybe you can recommend using another one.
Thanks in advance!
I had similar situation once when I tried different SIM card. My solution was to put SIM a bit twisted into its bed.
[\] instead of [|].
It took few tries but finally it got detected and working.
Sent from my SGS Adv. using xda-developers app.
most likely your phone was *not* SIM unlocked before you flashed it: I did the same thing to mine and read many similar stories here and there.
I never found a solution and bricked my phone while trying to fix it. I went up to copiing a full ROM dump from another working 9070P: the copy succeded and phone worked (IMEI cloned etc...) but still no SIM card recognized (it was a spare free one so not a problem
If I manage to achieve my unbrick procedure (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701363), we might be able to fix that by reseting the full ROM to a valid state.
Facing the No Sim issues
i am facing the same problem, and it was all of a sudden."No SIM"
I sent the phone to service center, but they failed to repair.
i have tried everything, hard reset, downgrade to GB, upgrading again to JB (via ODIN), custom ROMs, but no luck.
what i figured out is my phone works on some older SIM cards, which have square shaped Chip (like the one in BSNL sim).
any suggestions????

In cm11 kk mode I see that your baseband is registered as unknown. Baseband is your modem which allows u to receive mobile connection thus data connection. Again I urge you to find and download a modem from all modem thread by spacetaxi, XXLT3 recommended and flash it in recovery. After that recheck your baseband info.
In carbon I see that your baseband is registered properly. Were u still unable to connect to network?
