Hey guys
I got a problem with my OTG device..
If my mass storage is connected im able to turn the display on
With volume up/down.
And if its not plugged in everything is normal.
Is this a function or an Issue.?! I didn't enabled it in venom tweaks!
Does someone got this "problem" also.?
Is it possible to disable that.?
Thx

Hello guys !
My N1 is automatically mounting as USB drive when connected to a pc.
This is driving me CRAZY !!!
How do i turn it off ? I mean how do I set the automount default to off, and just simply turn it on when i need to (manually).
Thanks
Avi
That's a bit weird, there is no automount option.
Normally you have to pull down the notification bar, tap on USB and tap mount. Unless it's 2.2, in which case you get a huge screen with a mount button.
Open doubletwist>settings>disable USB automount>?????>PROFIT
MaximReapage THANK YOU !
Problem solved !!!
apparently "doubletwist" does the magic ....
now everything's back to normal !!!!
Thanks everybody for the swift reply
Hello,
is there any way to turn off MTP mode ?
It automatically goes on whenever i connect my phone to computer via usb cable.
I want just simple usb charging.
I tried opening notification area and clicking on MTP Enabled item, but it does just nothing. I see click, but it doesn't turn off.
Any help ?
I am S-OFF, maybe it has something in common ?
I've had a small look around the forums but I can't find a straight solution to my exact problem. It seems I cannot charge my phone without turning my phone off completely and letting it charge while it's off. I can't connect to my pc as mass storage because it acts like my phone has an OTG device plugged in instead of the power cord. I've read solutions explaining you can cut the cord open and cut to wires so it doesnt read as USB mode. I dont really want to do this and I don't believe that should be the last option.
If someone knows of any solution can you help please. Thanks
I have the same problem, it does not charge.
The ONE HTC is sending charge(I assume, waiting for a device in OTG).
How to solve this problem without cutting wires?
are you completely stock? any custom kernels, what rom if any?
Any rom, official or custom.
I used trick of light -> Hold Button + Vol down + Vol UP + Light on sensor
I reverted to a completely stock rom and relocked the bootloader. This fixed the problem but me being me got sick of it and rooted again. It was fine for a bit then same problem occured. However now it only occurs accasionally

You officially have a paper-weight now. Does anyone know if there is still a "USB JIG" option for the Note8 and the USB Type-C port?

yes and dont know what to because my screen is a little bit broken and they will charged me new screen for power button
The only way to go would be to change the motherboard, sorry, I always install some apps to reduce the use of the power button since day one, I use gravity screen to awake the screen, and invisible widgets to turn it off, and shortcutter to make a tile to call the power menu, so, I only use the power button to ACTUALLY power the device ON

Here it was, I thought I was being conservative by using fingerprint unlock to save a few presses on my power button.
I wonder if the OP has a saved alarm set to go off at a specific time. I then forgot that the alarm clock doesn't work when the phone is off.

In fact I even try to save presses on volume buttons via virtual button bar

^^^That is taking it too far now. I assume you use wireless charging to save your USB port, and SSH to access your phone remotely, to save your phone from screen burn-in?
Edit: then there is bluetooth speakers / headphones to save the built in speaker.
Hahahaha! Only the wireless charging part too!
i got mine to turn on by doing the downloazd mode, then plug in to a copmputer. it turns on and starts in download or upload or recovery mode, but i cant get it to restart and boot

Hi. How did you manage that without the power button?
Mine broke too.
Hello guys, the other day I dropped my loved phone and the screen broke. No big deal I thought - just order a new display assembly and I'll be fine. Sadly the internal display connector on the logic board happened to break too, infact I tried two displays but none worked, then I noticed some misaligined pins on the ribbon connector - logic board side.
I have some very important stuff on this phone that I absolutely need to recover. To do so, I need to enable USB debugging and developer options in settings. I can do that with an external USB keyboard connected through USB-OTG, but the best I can do blindly is inserting the lockscreen password, then I can use WIN + N to open the notification tray but I have no idea what to press next. If anybody happens to have a z3 play, an USB keyboard and some spare time, please write me the keys to press to reach first the settings menu and then build number/developer options. I suggest doing the steps in offline mode so that the keys are 100% the same as mine, also I'm using the latest version (Pie) on the latest security patch.
If you could help I'd really appreciate
