[Q] Bottom menu blues!! - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Team,
I have an Xperia 10.1 Tab with JB 4.2.2.
I use this heavily for note taking but I am plagued by the bottom action bar only needing the slightest touch to send the screen back to Home. This means that during writing, I am constantly having to force myself to keep my wrist away from touching the bottom of the screen.
In the Xperia manual, it shows the three icons on the left of the screen but mine are in the centre. Just to be able to move them to the left would solve my problem but I can't find any guidance. Can anyone assist? I don't want to root the tab (As I want to be able to watch Sky Go )
Thanks

Sorry to bump this but I could really do with some expertise. Does anyone have a Z Tab with the bottom menu icons shifted to the left per the instruction book?
Cheers

Scrolling with wheel.

Hi there.
Is there a plugin which will delete scroll bars from today screen. I just wan't to scroll my today screen with the scroll wheel so that there are no scroll bars present.
This would a lot when using keyboard because scroll bar is so small when using phone with keyb. so it would be nice to be able to scroll the whole screen not only the bottom part of today screen.
You either need to remove some items from the today screen or make them smaller (if that's an option).

I would like to have more items on today screen but I'm annoyed by that horrible scroll bar.
My friend has a small hp ipaq smartphone and it has this kind of "no scrollbar" function.

Some post-AutoNooter wierdness

I bought a Nook Color yesterday and immediately AutoNooterd it. BTW, I love saying Autonooter
Everything is working fine...except for one small annoyance. The extreme right side of the screen seems like it out of calibration or dead. For example, when I use Dolphin Browser HD and swipe to the left to bring out the toolbar on the right I have difficultly selecting the extensions. Or when I'm in the market and I want to search, I have a hard time clicking the magnifying glass icon on the top right hand side of the screen. Sometimes I can hit them, sometimes I can't, and sometimes I have to aim "off" of them to click them.
Has anyone else seen an issue like this? I haven't tried it using Nook Home. Is there a way to calibrate the screen?
Thanks.

How to Bypass the Activation Screen

For those who want to bypass the activation screen, surprisingly it's the same method used on the droid 2.
The method on bypassing the activation screen is
1. On the Welcome screen with the touch the android to begin icon, do the following:
2. Tap the top left corner of the screen then
3. Tap the top right corner of the screen then
4. Tap the bottom right corner of the screen ( just above the grey bar along the bottom with emergency dial and change language in it) then
5. Tap the bottom left corner of the screen ( just above the grey bar along the bottom with emergency dial and change language in it).
6. That’s it, should pop up the home screen shortly, if not retry. Remember not to drag your finger, simple tap top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left.
Credits do not go to me, but to the person who found out about this first. - Copied the steps from TheUnlockr
This applies to many phones
Oooorrrrrr, you can tap the corners in a clockwise fashion starting at the top left.
Saves a lot of reading, no offense to the OP.

haha, it's my first droid phone. I've been using iPhone, 3G, 3GS, 4, Samsung Vibrant, Captivate and Samsung Infuse so it's the first time I saw it and thought it'd be nice to share considering I didn't know that it'd be on many devices, kinda thought it was like a glitch
So, any ideas if the process com.motorola.setup keeps force closing? tapping the corners dismisses the activation screen, but continues on to the account setup and promptly crashes. I finally gave up and took it into the Verizon Store and they said it would need replaced, but I have to call an 800#, so I am looking at a day or 2 with no phone and I am currently trying to charge/activate an old phone since I can't even bypass the activation on my D3... I honestly am not very pleased with this device. I wanted so much to like it, but its like they just threw it together and then promptly forgot it existed...
On Hashcodes ics buid you just hit the home key
Maybe its just me but I could not get this to work on monster rom. I tapped around in a circle several times

How to change what main apps are showing at the bottom of the screen in ICS?

Hi guys,
Probably simple one but buggered if I can see it....
Have just upgraded to ICS via Kies (think I got one of the early german handsets that Expansys were selling before UK launch).
I can't seem to find how to change the main apps that are permanently showing at the bottom of the screen. I'm sure before I could just drag and drop them from main screen to menu bar.
Thanks
Click apps drawer and in there go edit Then can drag em'
Thanks, feel stupid not having seen that considering I'd been been on that screen so much while putting all my apps into folders.
Was trying to use edit when at home screen.

[Q] Home/apps screen navigation

I upgraded to the S6 Edge from an S3. On the S3 the home screens and app menu wrapped around (i.e. swiping right on the far right screen brought me to the far left screen) and if I pressed on the dot corresponding to any home or app screen it would navigate directly to that one. On the S6 Edge, screens do not wrap around and pressing on any dot that's not next to the screen I'm on just moves it one screen in the right direction, but not all the way there. This is a pretty frustrating way to navigate as it means more swiping. Anybody able to get some better screen navigation for home and app screens or am I stuck with this?
Yes, this is my EXACT problem. Is there some magic setting that unlocks this feature? I didn't realize how much I relied on the navigation dots till that functionality disappeared with my new S6! It's such a little thing, but it's making using the new phone really, really aggravating. Has anybody found a solution to this?
ETA: I too upgraded from an S3, but to a plain S6, not the S6 Edge. I don't know how I feel about the fact that this is apparently a problem across phones . . .
Also, while we're at it, can we make the menu button come back? I miss it. . So to recap: 1) navigation dots, 2) screen wrap around navigation, 3) menu button. All missing. All essential.

Agreed! This is terrible! Is this one of those Touch Wiz cuts that everyone is praising? Ugh, I miss the dots and the wraparound home screens.
