EDIT: Now in open(and free!) beta! PM me for details
I'm close to finishing my new game, "Sic Semper". It's a space exploration and combat game with a randomized galaxy of 200 stars, each with a random number of planets(between 1 and 5), each with randomly generated terrain.
For the backstory: Humanity was almost entirely conquered by an alien race called the Ypetigan shortly after achieving interstellar travel. All that was left was a single secret facility working on a ship that would be capable of defending itself against the Ypetigan. The player takes command of that ship to rebuild human civilization by colonizing planets, expanding across the galaxy, and eliminating the Ypetigan.
Sic Semper features 7 different ship types, 6 weapon types, 4 types of turrets and 12 component upgrades. Initially, Sic Semper will be released for Android, but I also plan to release on basically any platform I can(I've made proof-of-concept ports of older builds to ubuntu using Qt and Chrome native client).
Here's a video of some of the basic gameplay in action(sorry for framerate issues, it's the fault of the screen recorder I used. I typically get ~60fps in practice):
And here's some screenshots:

Also, here's the full album, if you want to see screenshots of progress dating back to March, 2012(I've been working on the game for more than 2 years): https://plus.google.com/photos/116688016659241634367/albums/5667908906736055633?fd=1
Finally, for a little technical info: The game uses my own custom gameplay and graphics engine using OpenGL ES 2.0. I wrote all the code myself(hence the > 2 years of development), got the ship models from turbosquid and the sound effects are modified versions from Freesound.org. I'm planning on releasing to the Play Store initially(probably 1-2 months down the road) and then Ouya(I already have controller support and have tested it successfully on Ouya). Then I'll probably port it to PC and possibly Chrome Native Client.
I'm now ready to open up a beta. PM me your google account(invitations have to go through google+) and I'll send an invite to the beta test(This will happen in stages, first come first serve).
Cool
That's perfect. hard and done a great job

IE 9: First look at the new JS Engine
The IE team is busy working on the next version of the world's most popular browser. IE 8 is the most widely used browser on Windows. IE 9 is currently in the oven and the IE team is ready to talk about what they're working on. Here, JavaScript engine team members John Montgomery, Steve Lucco and Shanku Niyogi give us an early look at the new JS engine that will ship with IE 9. As of the interview, it is on par with the latest performance numbers of the latest Firefox beta and making progress in catching up to Chrome's latest V8. Again, this is a really early look at where the JS engine is and where it's going (and what they've done, architecturally, to speed up IE's JS engine).

Name: Meteor Mania
Defend your city against a meteor shower in this slick game which seemlessly blends classic arcade games of old with a modern art and sound direction. Utilize four different types of power ups including a forcefield and scatter rockets to rack up a high score.
Destroy multiple meteors with a single missile to get even more points. With a smooth difficulty curve and a newgame+ system this game is high on replay value and low on downtime many arcade games suffer from as players excel at them.
There's never a dull moment in Meteor Mania!
Changelog:
28/12/2010:
Trial gameplay time has been increased from 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
Reticule becomes redder as health depletes.

Update coming next week which increases trial gameplay time from 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
Let me know what you think of the game!
A working download link would be great. Thanks.
The link works for me...
Bought it!
Awesome! What do you think of it? Any ideas for improvements, etc?
My thumbs need a break!!! This game is a lot of fun! Some ideas:
I think having levels/waves that will break the pace a bit would be nice.
Also, maybe a change in the background like perhaps shifting from dusk to dawn to day, etc. would be nice.
Perhaps add some meteor variations like "Asteroids" type meteors that break into smaller ones you need to blow up again
Basically, try add elements that will make the gameplay a bit more varied
I love the attention to detail - the graphics are fantastic. Too often games have super gameplay and crap graphics - your game is great on all counts!
Those aren't actually bad ideas, pity my hands are tied until Microsoft approves the current (minor) update I'm trying to push forward :-\ Been there for quite a while now, I think it's because of the Christmas break they're taking so long with app approvals.
a new patch has been released which ups the trial demo time from 30 seconds to 2 minutes and adds a new feature where as your cities health is going down the reticules get redder so you don't have to look at the top left of the screen to see your cities health.
looking great!! downloading it!!
Name: FlyingTiles
My name is Philipp and i'm one of the FlyingTiles developers. We are two students from the Technical University Munich.
In October last year we started this project. In the beginning it was just a small game. But from time to time we added more and more features. The users like the game. We have excellent ratings all over the world. And the more users we get, the more feedback and help we need.
Because of that, I started this post. We would be proud, if you could help us improving our game!
We have a paid and a free Version. (At this time, the free version has some small restrictions and some annoying messageboxes, but with the next update they will all be gone...except the ads.)
Description:
Sometimes the simplest games are the most enjoyable. The Windows Phone game Flying Tiles qualifies for both. It is a Windows Phone game that is simple to play, has simple graphics, has a simple object and is most enjoyable to play.
The concept has a series of flying tiles racing across your Windows Phone screen. Your job is to catch the colored tiles and avoid the black tiles. The more tiles you catch, the more points you earn. Along the way you have bonus items that appear as question marks. The bonus items include slowing the tiles down, speeding them up, shrinking the size of your catcher, turning all tiles into color, and applying gravity to your catcher to pull the colored tiles to you.

We are working on some new extra-modes. With the next update, "SnakingTiles" and "DrivingTiles" will be aviable!
Have fun,

Second Developer
Hey there,
my name is Martin, I'm the second developer of FlyingTiles.
If you have any feedback, questions or suggestions, don't be shy
Martin
I have yet tried the game but it seems to be a mobile version of the old flash game Squares? Am I right? That game is awesome
I will try this!
Actually it is like Squares It's very addicting and you'll like our version!
The world’s first 3D laptops hit shelves Sunday, and with a price of $2,648 each, it remains to be seen whether they are really worth shelling out that kind of cash. Samsung is behind the new 3D laptop with Compatible Parts . It is a version of the company’s Series 7 gaming laptop, which has been updated to include a “SuperBright” 1920×1080 3D LED display.
The popular tech blog reported the high-priced laptop on Monday, but added a very important caveat, which is the fact that a spokesman for Samsung has said that there are no plans to release a 3D laptop in the United States. So far it is only available in Asia.
The computer, which sports a bold bright yellow cover, has a Blu-ray drive to allow for 3D movie watching, and is all driven by an AMD Radeon HD 7870M graphics card that Samsung says is made for gaming, a 128GB solid-state drive and 1-terabyte hard disk, Laptop Keyboard , CNET reported.
The 3D laptop also features Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU, and has three three-core processors and other Compatible Parts .
Three-dimensional technology has been increasing in popularity in recent years, especially after “Avatar” became one of the most-successful films in history by taking advantage of 3D’s ability to make a visually impressive movie even more fascinating.
I wouldn't pay it. 3D is a stupid gimmick.
I'd buy it to lord over all the Mac ninnies.
"What's that say? Oh, I'm sorry, I can't see what's happening on your computer because I'm in... the THIRD dimension."

I didn't like 3d in the early 80s, and I like it even less now.
