Dotted contact pictures??? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First time facebook contact synchronized very well and contact picture were pretty well, but after few days many contacts have dots like below pic,
Plz give me solution

That's intentional.

Mine do that too, but if I select to use the G+ photo, it will clear it up. I think it has something to do with the size of the image when it initially syncs.
Click on the little camera icon when on the screen you showed (bottom right on the photo), and select the G+ option from there.

i also have this issue
the contact pics that synced from google+ have this,
maybe its coz of the phones 469ppi density that inferior old pics show like this?

and using a pic from my gallery solved this.

That's the way HTC made it. Every photo should have this filter as far as I know. There's a mod in the mods section to remove it.

When I moved from the galaxy 3 to this one I had the same iasue but if you select a new picture from your gallery it will be fine. My suspicion is that the galaxy 3 had a lower resolution vs this one.

How about disabling the facebook app from setting/app and then installing an alternative to facebook app??

let us know!!
-havnt gotten mine yet thats y the suggestion..

Unfortunately you can't because the built in app it's the android version and you can't disable it and download a version
I've spent hours trying to solve it without success

The only way is to do that I suppose the internet version is possible
I haven't found any decent app based version yet

Gallery > Albums > Options (3 vertical dots top-right) > Show/Hide albums > Untick Facebook / Picasa / Twitter etc.
---------- Post added at 03:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:11 PM ----------
Or
Settings > Accounts and Sync > Facebook > Untick Live feed ? I dont think removes it from the gallery main screen but it will probably stop it from automatically updating every time you open gallery.
I used titanium back up to freeze "Facebook for HTC sense 5" and that seemed to work. Haven't noticed any side effects yet.

Try hitting the menu key in your gallery and if the menu pops up select from device only, that way it works only with your pictures from your camera or ones you download.

Gallery Photos Sync

So I got my One yesterday and the first thing I noticed was the gallery syncing my friends' photos. I am chill with that, but I want to know how I can change the first rectangular thumbnail that says 'friends' cuz it happens to be a picture of Lil Wayne that someone uploaded and I don't want to be stuck with that. Any ideas?

Try pulling the screen down to refresh it should change to another pic in that tile.
Already tried, didn't work.
The thumbnail stays the same.

You could try clearing data and cache for the gallery app but in any event it will eventually change itself or it should anyway mine updates itself to a different picture now and again... I tested with a refresh before I posted a lol bit ago and it changed then but doesn't now.
I feel your pain, ugly f**ker ain't he.

XDA App problems.

As you can see from the attached picture I have what looks like 2 empty posts at the top of every thread, and when I try to click a post to quote or reply or whatever it will select the post above, and if I try to click the first post in a thread the app will crash.
So anyone know a fix? Or what dir the data for the xda app is located so I can install and delete it and try a clean install?

No idea, but I will look into it for sure. I don't ever like to badmouth XDA, this site and its users and devs have been good to me over the years, but this new app is so buggy it makes me want to throw my phone! Try to add more than one pic to a mobile post and it only adds the last one, but allows the upload beforehand, making you think everything is on the up and up. So, if you make a post trying to show multiple pics and they don't post, you will look pretty foolish trying to explain something. Try to add pics at all sometimes and I get a 'you don't have permission to do this blahblah' nonsense. The app force closes or won't update if you don't back all the way out of it after each use. I could go on, but you get the idea. I can't possibly be the only one, and the new UI alone made me rate it 5 stars on Market, but damn! Can we get a patch puh-leeze! Ok, rant over. Sorry, but I had to vent.........:silly:
Only issue I have over Tapatalk is the fact that when you select the app from the app drawer and do whatever you want in the XDA app and then press the home button it'll close the app but show the app drawer for about a half second before it goes to the home screen unlike Tapatalk closing the app and going straight to the homescreen

Just switch to the Tapatalk app. No reason not to, since it's free. The difference is night and day.

Any root camera mods?

I've been meaning to root my gs5 but I'm wondering if there's any camera mods. Aside from debloating, increased camera performance is really all I need (it usually takes me about 3-5 tries to get a non blurry picture) but I'm worried that once I'm rooted, I can't complain to att and get a new s5 since it might be a hardware problem
Tl;dr anyone found a good camera mod or know someone who is working on one?

i opened a thread about this and have still yet to find a solution... i might have to go back to using a 3rd party app.. CameraZoom+ worked pretty decent for me on my previous s4 and note3.
i have noticed that turning on "Tap to take pic." and tapping the screen to capture the photo has been working decent.

I noticed the tap to take pics does help a bit but that's very strange. Could this be a hardware problem?

possibly.. i noticed that when the camera snaps the pic and it flashes the white boarders.. that particular moment doesnt seem to be the actual moment that the photo is taken.. so maybe when the screen flashes, we think the photo is taken and move our hands out of instinct ?

I have yet to take a blurry picture. I don't understand why so many people are having this problem. The only thing I did was turn off picture stabilization. Well...that and I make sure the image is in focus on the screen before i shoot.

nexus camera....meh
Though the nexus camera works great on the nexus line I've noticed on my so when I use it to capture something that is moving like my child there is a delay in capture...the screen will flash with what I thought I got but when I look at the picture it will be a delayed shot often missing what I wanted. The Samsung camera is not alol that bad.

Yeh I don't get it either, I never take blurry photos. See so many complaints on here and other forums and no clue why, my friends S5 doesn't take blurry pics either. I only turned off pic stabilization. I just make sure the the image is in focus before shooting.
Has everyone removed the factory plastic off the lens?
Going in and out of gallery from the camera app is slow. Is it just me?

It takes about 3-4 seconds to go from WITHIN the camera app to view the picture taken.

Yeah, I see that, same here. Not really a big deal for me, as I very rarely click to go to gallery from within camera.

Only takes about a second for me. Only got about a few hundred pictures I think.
I have 405 pictures on my external SD card, plus probably around 100 or so on the internal.
Took me about 5 Seconds.
