First, use Triangel Away app and reset counter binary
Second way that always work, flash Stock ROM that only compatible with your region (Ex: if you're live and buy your phone in India, flash stock ROM India Region). Different region stock ROM can be your problem.
Hope that works

I had rooted with kingroot in my Samsung galaxy gt i8190n. And installed cwm.. now I want to change device from custom to official.plz help. Fb id :Raju Saud ([email protected])

1. Unrooted rom means that 3rd Party Apps cannot make changes to System.
2.Flashing to stock Rom means reverting to your phone's original rom.
3. If you think that your phone is more vulnerable (There is nothing like that) .
4.Only Stock ROMS revert to original after unrooting , on other roms ... its a waste
5.Unrooting is done only when your device is rooted..

1. unroot mean, your device is not rooted. and you do not have privilege to write system file/folder
2. It means like re-install your device, you can do it with ODIN Multi Downloader (this is from Galaxy W forum and we use tass.ops
3. when or why? ya we need it sometimes, because root mean you void warranty of you phone, sometime your phone maybe broke. so you need unroot before you bring it to service center
4. No, it just remove the SuperUser and you still have your ROM. and it will make the ROM work not like it should be. it's better to flash into stock firmware of you want unroot your device
5. hemmm... unroot mean the condition of your device. or you mean Unrooting the rooted device? ya you can, read this

I have also tried motochpper and it is not working too.
But i know that if u unloack bootloader, you are still able to root.. but i just dont want to unlock my BL just yet....
Might need to confirm but I remember that on the arc to root you had to downgrade the kernel, root then re flash updated ed kernel
Needs to be confirmed first
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
My suggestion to preserve root is simple
Download the update.(just d update from the existing firmware)
Creating a .zip file
Modding it so that we don't lose root
Flash that zip through cwm so that we can enjoy updates widout losing root or trying to find new ways of rooting new firmware..

1. For getting the FTF Files: http://mytechencounters.wordpress.c...eate-an-ftf-file-of-your-xperia-ics-firmware/
2. Then creating a Flashable Zip File: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183077

Madhouse was talking about Locked Bootloader phones, everybody knows how to root any firmware with an unlocked bootloader.
In the Xperia ARC, the procedure was to flash the newest firmware (not-rootable), then flash a previous kernel only (rootable) with flashtool, turn on phone, root it using any exploit available, turn it off, and flash the newest kernel alone with flashtool. Phone rooted and in the latest version.
I don't know, but maybe this method could work as this new firmware is still based on Android 4.1 just like the previous one, so the older, exploiteable, kernel should be able to boot the new firmware.

I already root my phone with this method , just flash old kernel with CWM_Recovery , reboot in recovery , flash root SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip , reboot in flash mode and then flash stock Kernel from 10.1.1.A.1.253 .

AGAIN, this is only possible on unlocked bootloaders. With locked bootloaders, once you update to 10.1.1.A.1.253, you loose root and recovery, so there is no way to do what you are saying. Once updated to .253, the only way to change kernel is via flashtool.

[Q] NOOB help with custom ROM & Unlocking

Ok first of all I apologise for my noobish questions in advance, different forums are telling me different answers to the same questions so here goes -
Situation: I am getting a Samsung Galaxy S3 I9305 (4G) soon and as far as i am aware it has Android 4.3 on it, I'm confused about the knox bootloaders etc but here is what I want to do
1. Unlock Phone for Free using Debug Menu (Some people say downgrading to 4.1.1 allows free unlocking, other's dont)
2. Install Custom ROM
I don't care about warranty voiding, I just want to unlock my phone for free and have a custom ROM & Recovery
Can you please lead me in right direction? Thanks
Update - Here is a quick tutorial:
Use this to downgrade 4.3 to 4.1.1 - flash using custom recovery
http://mediafire.com/download/9y2xo8a16w41eyr/Firmware_4.1.1_Modificado_for_fzeta.zip
Then use these instruction to unlock your phone.
Put a different SIM to your own into the handset and then turn off the handset and switch it back on with that SIM inside.
Go to the dial pad on your phone and then type in *#197328640#.
Head over to the Main Menu of the device > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > and wait for around 30 seconds.
You should then head to Menu and choose Back, where you will come across the Network Lock. Choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ.
Enter *#197328640#.
That's it your phone is now unlocked. You can now use any sim card.
You can update, Root, flash custom rom and everything you want. It will stay unlocked
1. You can't downgrade to 4.1.1 to use that method...phone won't boot...
2. Installing custom rom is easy...install CWM and happy flashing..

It is true that no one can do downgrade to KNOX bootloader, but who said that you can`t flash a Custom 4.1.1 ROM maintaining Knox bootloader.

In short, everyone taking your device rooted, whith an custom Recovery can do this.Flashing a modified ROM 4.1.1 ,then using a hidden menu/debug/ can unlock the phone.Using a custom 4.1.1 ROM modified from this forum:http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=738977 is possible to unlock. Moreover, after unlock your phone you can flash 4.3 maintaining your phone unlocked.

Yes I have I9305 and this worked !
I got really excited when I saw this, coming from a new thread I made after discovering the inability to downgrade to 4.1.1 after Knox is installed.
However, I ran into a snag (I'm trying to downgrade from 4.4.4, i9305 with CWM 6.0.4.7):
format() expects 5 args, got 4
E:Error in /data/media/0/stock411.zip (I renamed it and copied it again to internal phone storage in case it was a bad transfer to ext SD card previously)
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Any ideas?
Did your 4.3 phone definitely have Knox installed before?
Is this issue occurring because I'm coming from 4.4.4?
Thanks for your input.

No, that may well have been my next move, but oddly enough I managed to seemingly very flukely flash a stock 4.1.1 ROM with Odin just now, download link here:
TBA (can't post links yet)
Wasn't expecting it to work at all and almost didn't try, given the previous 'Unsupported Version' messages when trying to downgrade to other stock ROMs with Odin, but there you are, this time it worked, somehow...
The rest of the trick with the dialler menu worked a treat and I now have a SIM unlocked (though faulty, GPS doesn't work) SGS3
Hi,
I have a Samsung I9305 LTE, with official 4.3 rom. I don't care about warranty (as it's expired anyway), and the unlocking stuff (I can use whatever SIM card, so I guess it is an unlocked version?), all I want is to flash a custom rom. What do I need to do?
Hi,
I have some questions too. I am a new I9305 owner.
I have the 4.3 bootloader, I don't care about Knox as I have no warranty (phone was 2nd hand). I've already tripped Knox anyway after flashing Philz recovery and rooting with it.
I have two requirements really, which I think are more kernel-dependent than ROM-dependent.
1) White balance/colour calibration. I hate the blue-green tint to the whites.
2) Wolfson/Boeffla sound controls for the Wolfson DAC.
I don't really care if it's Android 4.1/4.2/4.3/4.4, AOSP, CM or stock.
So far I still have the Samsung stock 4.3 ROM but I've flashed the AGNI v3.8.5 kernel which has given me some sound controls, but nothing useful regarding the display. Ideally, colour multipliers, black level, gamma etc.
The Perseus kernel+Stweaks looks like it might fit the bill, but I think it's 4.1.2 only and I'm not sure if it works with the 4.3 Knox bootloader? I'm happy to switch to a 4.1.2 ROM if I can, I just REALLY want to be able to fine-tune the screen!
Maybe there are other kernels that support this for 4.3 or 4.4? Or do any CM builds have the screen controls in the ROM itself?
Thanks!
Glenn

OMG! It seems we're gonna have many problems with this firmware version. Yesterday, after flashing the new 4.4.4 via Odin, I wanted to reinstall it for twice, and PC Odin brings me FAILED in step SetupConnection. Then, I tried to do a Downgrade to 4.3, getting the same error. I don't know what's happening but I don't wanna be stuck in this firmware forever!
Please, can anyone lend a hand?
most probably we won't be able to downgrade as it was 4.3->4.1, so we can't 4.4->4.3 due to some bootloader changes
I think you'd have to wait until 4.4.4 for non-N model is released as odin package

of course I don't know how risky it could be with new bootloader, but keeping in mind that people downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1 using mobile odin (no bootloader change) it could be worth trying

wanam xposed can fake the system status, but I don't know if it'd work in this particular case
anyway, full odin package for 4.4 non-N appeared, so no need to tamper at 4.3 DBT just to be able to update anymore http://live.samsung-updates.com/details/34084/Galaxy_S_3_LTE/GT-I9305/DBT/I9305XXUFNI3.html

yea installed it. Thanks for help anyway
The ODIN package for the GT-I9305 is avaible at SamMobile

most probably we won't be able to downgrade as it was 4.3->4.1, so we can't 4.4->4.3 due to some bootloader changes
I think you'd have to wait until 4.4.4 for non-N model is released as odin package

my phone was rooted and had cwm recovery. The OTA failed twice . Then I unrooted the phone and did a wipe. After that, I was able to install lollipop

OTA will always fail when you're rooted, as signature checks will fail. You need to flash a pre-rooted 157 after wiping system and caches (not data).

Install a non-rooted, fresh copy of 157. Close Sony Updater tool(s).
Flash the 108 kernel using Flashtool. Close Flashtool.
Root using XperiaRoot. Close XperiaRoot.
Flash the 157 kernel using Flashtool. Close Flashtool.
Install XZDR Dual Recovery, and use TWRP from now on. CWM is old and should be killed with fire.
Send me $50 and a large pepperoni pizza.
Files are available here.
