Has anyone tried to decrease the size of the app drawer by about half? The reason I ask is because with advanced launcher I only have 2 rows of icons and don't really need the black space. Optimally I would like it to end just above the first 2 rows of icons, mainly because a lot of people use the flip clock widget which would make it still visible with the app drawer up.
No one knows how if this is even possible.
Hey all you talented developers,...
as our SAMOLED Displays suffer from degradation of the organic LED when constantly emmiting bright white or blue,
some of us found here the need of a hideable status bar.
I searched all the internet and all of this forum but couldn´t find such an app.
Is there any app or widget possible which can hide or un-hide the status bar?
Or is there any adb code that hide it and onther adb code that un-hides it??
Any help would be highly welcome.
Somehow ist should be possible.... at least we are on android
greetz the bapsack
Edit:
P.S.
1. as far as I know no launcher hides the statusbar permanently
2. even though some (!) apps might support fullscreen the status bar is still there in most apps
Both LauncherPro and Zeam have hideable status bars. See market.
the status bar is only hidden in the launcher
if you open any app e.g. internet or navigation the status bar is back in its place
Try dolphin browser, it has full screen I think

I wonder if adding the notitlebar attribute in the framework manifest would work
No clue though, will try when have time or someone else could
Degradation? I don't think so.
Anu source?
I think the display only suffers from a minor burn-in problem, where the burn in disappears after somewhile.
well take this pic of a blank white screen aas a proof
you can still see the status bar as a shadow

ADW.Launcher has a hidable status bar. You just flick your finger UP, the status bar hides. Flick it UP again, it returns.
PS : I can fit in 5 rows of icons easily.

the aim is to hide the freakin status bar permanently
e.g.: even when navigating, web-browsing or running any other app
This adw.Launcher can NOT do!
Just start any app and zack, back is the statusbar no matter what launcher u use ADW.Launcher, Lauchner.Pro or Zeam
I have status bar burn in, viewable on the screen test blue background.
5 months, low brightness, status bar hidden most of the time using launcher pro.
Pretty sad really

That's not even a Galaxy S hah, and no burn in here with launcher pro 99% of it's life. I'm not sure how this is viewed, but if someone without a status bar is getting the same thing, it's seems a bit irrelevant in general to blame the status bar?
@bapsack
I accidently thanked you for that post hah wanted to quote it, anyways the reason for that is because it's not possible to replace that yet obviously, nothing integrates all the dynamic info it displays. It's required sorry bud!

tell me how to do and I will check
My bet is:
-make your notification bar 0-20% black
-set 50%/50%/20% R/G/B color for notification bar font and make icons with blurred edges in the same color
NO way you will get a burn.
Thnak you MACHETE.
Hello,
I found out that I can add Sense Widgets to the next launcher lite. They are full functional an resizeable.
In Apex or Nova launcher it isn't possible.
I was realy surprised that it is generally possible because in Sense 4 the widgets were integrated und Rosie, so why can I do it in Sense 5 and only in next launcher?

The calculator widget looks cut down
I resized it to add another widget

Are you running a custom Rom or stock?

Hi,
This is pretty cool. Apparently you can use widgets and home screen settings from ADW, LauncherPro, LG TouchWiz, and HTC Sense with the next launcher. The details page of the Next Launcher at the Play store indicate;
We introduced the following permission to support our new function – Migrate home screen from other launchers
com.htc.launcher.permission.READ_SETTINGS – Migrate from HTC sense
com.lge.launcher.permission.READ_SETTINGS – Migrate from LG Home
com.fede.launcher.permission.READ_SETTINGS – Migrate from LauncherPro
org.adw.launcher.permission.READ_SETTINGS – Migrate from ADW Launcher
org.adwfreak.launcher.permission.READ_SETTINGS – Migrate from ADW Launcher EX
org.adw.launcher_donut.permission.READ_SETTINGS – Migrate from ADW Launcher donut
How cool. I did not know this could be done. Maybe I can switch away from Rosie now.

It's a decent launcher but still has 1 major glitch, like all the 3rd party launchers ... Non transparent status bar. The ugly greyish colour permanently is just too much for me, have to hide the status bar but it still annoys me when I unlock and it momentarily flashes grey before it hides ... Why is it not transparent on any launcher?

I am not all into theming but from what I understand the status bar has to do with the SystemUI and not the Launcher. I have a custom ROM with status bar tweaks and transparency enabled. I just installed Next Launcher and my status bar is transparent. Most of the time. Some apps it turns grey like gMail, Play store. But I think it is more that these apps have that screen area not drawn, and other apps I use, have that screen area drawn black.
The SystemUI is also why all the status bar apps on the Play store also do not have transparency. All these apps do is draw over your existing status bar. Transparent Status bar requires specific settings per ROM. Do correct me if I am wrong about this.
You're probably right dude, it just annoys me that in order to customize my phone how i like, i have to put up with that lol ... OCD is to blame but still, the little flash of grey is better than all the time.
I just flashed 4.2.2 and it isn't possible anymore...

I wanted to put my App Drawer on the Shortcut Clock, but it wasn't available to add in the Gear Manager clock configurator.
I found a free drawer app on Play Store that works perfectly. The icon it provides for the TW shortcut dock is a perfect match to the Gear's icon style, too. I can't post links yet, but the app is "AppDrawer (MIUI App Drawer)" by JakedUp.
You will need to install something that allows you to access the app menu with a gesture, in order to configure it. But the default drawer style is a single-column icon list with titles, which will probably work for most people.
I set mine to have: 2 rows, 2 columns, horizontal scrolling, 15 point type, icon size 100, icon spacing 6. That makes it look like the Gear's default app drawer, but with icon titles.
Hey guys using nova launcher and had no issue I changed the icons and that's fine like usual but I wake up today and now the icons for most apps I'm my app drawer are invisible. I restarted my phone and changed the icon pack and still they're invisible. Any idea on what's going on here?
