Got my Xperia Z sim free on Friday. Everything was working fine initially but Stamina Mode just doesn't seem to be working properly now. Don't know if it's a software or hardware problem?
When I press the toggle, the standby time left doesn't change at all? And the figure it gives seem permanently low. I've charged it fully overnight and it says standby time left is 8 hours? That said when I have left it in Stamina Mode its told me on a couple of occasions that certain apps are preventing it from working properly (Google Sync etc) but it'd be nice to know if it was working.
Any ideas?

Some problem here... So probably is a bug on the firmware. On the 4.2.2 probably will be fix
Same problem here was fine on first day then went all odd.
Likewise
I'm also seeing this problem. In addition it appears the Google mail client which was getting mails by push due to it being white listed in the stamina application list have also stopped coming through when the screen is in standby. Be good to see what that the situation is.
Same.... Stamina mode takes a while to update the standby from memory. I
white listed gmail and stopped getting mail. Maybe it's just not that clever or as data is off it can't truly be white listed.

Same as of today.
Standby time has no change with toggle on or off.
Showing 14hrs off full charge.
Cleared everything out of stamina mode & reset defaults on all apps but no change.
Don't fancy doing a factory reset yet so I'll lurk here & see if it gets resolved any other way.
Same here.. But im guessing the stamina mode takes the avg time of our usage too, being a new toy we use it alot.. Hence the total time is from our usage... Only my humble opinion thou
My stamina mode seems to be working again. Yesterday it stopped and would show the same figure regardless of whether on or off. Woke up this morning, now on 75% it's showing 15hours on, 8 hours off. But nowhere near the 4 days I was getting on 90% when I first got it.
No issues here with stamina mode. I'm not sure yet if it makes a difference, but at least it's working

Stamina Mode is buggy as hell, done a few tests and with it on my mail doesnt come through even though its white-listed. It only stops notifications coming though, it doesnt turn the data off like it says it does. Hope 4.2 fixes these problems.

Same here. I also have Exchange (Hotmail push) that is "preventing stamina mode from saving power"
Does anyone know whats going on here with this notification?
I didnt quite get the idea of Stamina.
Was it supposed to disable data when screen off?
or just prevent apps from using data but keeps the data connection alive?
Something is seriously wrong with this software!
I have already made a reset and a repair of the phone and everytime the result is the same...
In the first couple of days stamina is working right, after the second day (third day at the most), it stops working!
Anyone knows how to fix it?
I've thought I was the only one having this kind of issue... Well the same thing happened to me. The strange fact was, that stamina mode stopped worked after I've rooted the device. I was thinking the r00t made the stamina mode doesn't work. I guess I was wrong... Stamina mode was the coolest feature on this phone - it will be sad if we can't use it
Out of the box my stamina mode was showing 30+ hours on & 20+ off.
2 weeks later it's now showing 18 on & 12 off on a full charge.
F***ing thing!
.
Guys, you should try the Sony Update Service software - it helped me.
I got 20hrs. on average and Stamina mode not working, also that fast discharging with not entering Deep Sleep. All is fixed now when I have just re-flashed the stock ROM. (May be the Stock ROM downloaded through the Sony Update Service is somehow modified and not the same version I had on the phone initially).
how to fix the xperia z stamina mode
1.switch On the stamina mode and low battery mode
2.Connect the charger and charge your Xperia Z
3.Wait until it reach 100%
4.Check the stamina mode .....
It's happen for me.......:good:
Hi everyone,
Since the10.1.A.1.434 update i notice some random battery drain, normally after 12hours of basic usage (20 sms, 30min read news, check facebook...) i got like 60% of battery, but some day after only 5 hours i got 60% and when i look in battery usage, android eat 70%
Someone notice the same bug and know how to fix it ? (Stamina mode is ON)
ps: sorry for my bad english
Yes, i have the same feelings about the battery. It drains for some reason. Couldn't tell if it is for the 434 because I never really used the 350. I eventually turned in my first phone because I couldn't even get to 2 hours screentime before battery died. This second unit is better, but my personal feeling is battery life sucks on the Z. Use it too in stamina mode: it discharged 6% overnight and percentage seems to drop 2 or 3 numbers at a time: I am pretty sure that in my case a good old rooting/nice kernel/ram cleaning/cpu doesn't need to jump at 1 ghz everytime you touch the screen treatment will do miracles as it did with my s3.

Maybe stop using the stamina mode? I read nothing about a draining battery yet. I didn't test this firmware yet. I will if this problem is only to stamina mode users

I'll gonna try some days without stamina mode as you say, maybe it's just a stamina bug.
having the same problem so i am going back to .350
After .434 update, the battery seems to drain a lot slower when unused ( stamina mode enabled ).
After 8 hours left unused, only 1% of the battery drained.
Realy strange... And it isn't a stamina bug, i disable it and i got the same battery drain today. 45% use in only 5h without use my XZ.

High probability that during the upgrade from .350 that some of your apps are causing issues, I have seen this before with many different phones/roms, something that fixes it for most of them is to clear the delvik cache, then when the phone is rebooting, it forces all the applications to re-optimise. Or the worst case factory reset then re-install/restore your apps from backup

I have backup the phone with the repair tool on pc companion, it's seems to be like a total wipe, everything on the phone have been deleted and the rom have been installed properly. now all seems to be ok, i only lose 5% in 4 hours in stand by with the same applications installed and everything exactly the same like before.

this is a confirmed issue with firmware.434 as i have bought and sold 6 xperia z just to confirm this issue .... my phones lost 20% battert in 8 hours just by sitting idle over night..
I flashed .350 on my 7th xperia z and there is no drain now....
no idea why this is happening. they are saying in another thread that its due to baseband... but how do we flash the firmware without the baseband
Funny,i found it better then the. 350 fw I mean, for me the battery life on fw. 434 is much more improved
One & Only Xperia Z
I was also getting high battery drain out of nowhere on .434. I installed Better Battery Stats and it showed the culprit was something called "wifistatemachine".
I had previously set the wifi to only stay on when plugged in when the phone is asleep. I changed this setting to always stay on and the wifistatemachine wakelock has now disappeared and my battery drain is back to less than 1% per hour in standby. Maybe worth a try to see if this helps anyone else

yes, because of stamina mode, it turn data off and everything off, this also assume you dont touch your phone for 6 days. Nothing amazing about that, any phone can do it...turn off mobile data and leave it alone, it enter sleep state of the cpu, using the least ammount of power.

If you leave your phone for 2 days without using it,the estimated time will be more.
And if in 1 day you use your phone a lot than the estimated time will be less.

Hello, Stamina Mode is like a self-learning program that estimate times based on your daily usage, and how u used your phone. And the phone will changes its standby time. Mine sometimes show 12Days 3hours. The Numbers changes by time passes, but no worry it works in .350 Firmware. .434 i'm not sure about it, since i skipped it and updated to .253 FW, and then i downgraded back to .350 FW
BUT, you dont have to worry about those estimated time. By Default stamina mode on, it will show 4Days 21Hours. Sometimes its calculation may be corrupted. To fix temporarily, you can go Settings>Apps>All, find
a) Eco Mode Controller, or
b) Extended Standby Mode
Force stop it, clear data, and make hard reboot (Vol Up+ Power Button to restart) , i wont use 'hard reset' term, since this reboot WILL NOT WIPE DATA.
Then u will see estimated time by Default.
If permanent fix on estimated time, u may update via OTA or PC COmpanion to update ur phone to 10.1.1.A.1.253 FW. This update mentioned to make:
1.Screen Display Darker indeed (but i dont like it somehow)
2. White Balance (color calibration) (i wonder why i need it)
3. Camera Normal = Burst Mode quality since some of us proved that Burst Mode pic is nicer
4. Stamina Mode Time Fix (but frankly not for me, since i see 2% dropped in first 2hours i boot, then stabilizes. I prefer .350 FW due i less use my Z heavily, just normal messaging and phone calls, which 350 suits me)
5. Navigation Bar changed grey to black
6.Battery Life seems better than .434 (from few ppl claimed it's true)
Hope this info helps.

lol are you still going on about this? I told you its an estimation...why make a big deal out of it...your battery dint grow 20% over night k? this shouldnt have gone to the second page.
Also, standby time depends on signal stenght, so, maybe stamina calculates standby time with current signal conditions.

1% per hour isnt nothing to worry about tbh, thats technically speaking 100 hours of standby. I really wouldnt worry to much mate,

when u turn on stamina mode nd ur screen turn of most of time thn the stamina mode drains ur bettry very low, bcoz the rest of the app stoped by the stamina mode, thn u strt using the phone ur bettry drained according to the usage...
the time showed in setting<power managment is just an estimated stand by time nd it will reduce and set according to ur use with the pasge of time,,,so if u get 15 to 20 hrz betry bakup with whats app,fb massanger, games, some calls...thn ur bettry is perfct.
nd its true some time when u heavy use lik playing games thn stop using cell for a while its shows upword movment of bettry bar...but 30% is not norml,,,

Helllo, I recently bought my Xperia SP. I really like this phone. I didn't have any problem (wifi). From the first time I bought my phone, I noticed that my battery is draining too fast. I loose every night about 20% battery. Data and wifi are closed and STAMINA mode is turned on. Do you have any solution about this problem? Sorry for my English and Thanks in advance!!
A few people have complained about this, but for me, with stamina on, standby battery life is superb.
Wakelock detector is available in the Play store - this is a useful tool for seeing what's happening to your phone when the screen is off. With WiFi and data on and the screen off, my phone is only awake 6% of the time and it's mostly Facebook (terrible app) doing things.
With the screen off I might only drop 1 or 2% whilst I'm asleep.

i had peretty gud battery life , about 6-7 hrs of sot with wifi on all the day and lots of whatsapping . but now somehow suddenly stamina mod stopped working and getting lots of awake by whatsapp even it is greenified
Same problem here
Xperia SP battery backup is fine when i am using it. But when everything is off and stamina is on at night, i usually lose about 25% of my battery with cellular on overnight !!! But in airplane mode, stamina mode works fine. Only 0%-1% battery drain overnight. I didn't exclude anything in stamina mode. And i always keep my mobile data, wifi off when sleeping. I also checked battery stat but nothing is out of ordinary. But i think cell standby is consuming the power as everything is normal in airplane mode. But why do this happens to me when so many others are fine with cellular on? And the question is, how do i decrease the excess battery consumption by cellular mode when cellular mode is on and mobile data is off? It doesn't make any sense. Any solution for this weird problem? Help me please, this thing is driving me crazy. It takes more then an hour to charge 25% I am not rooted, bootloader locked, completely stock .205 and i have tried flashing and restoring via sus but nothing works. I even formated my internal memory and sd card I am using Xperia SP for about 10 months and stamina mode never worked for me :crying:

I even formated my internal memory and sd card I am using Xperia SP for about 10 months and stamina mode never worked for me :crying:

Alright i have sorted it out kinda... When um using settings -> GSM/WCDMA, the cell standby keeps draining battery. But when i select GSM only, the battery doesn't drain, lost only 2% over night with stamina on. But i ask this, how the hell am i supposed to use 3G data when the GSM only setting is selected ? Also another thing, the phone is intended for USA market(the customization is customized US). I bought it from Bangladesh and using in Bangladesh. Does this battery drain has to do anything with different Baseband version maybe ? I don't really know anything about baseband and stuff, just a guess. Anyone can help me in this matter ? Shall i flash an Generic INDIA rom ? Because Bangladesh is located besides India...
I have the same problem, maybe its a wrong baseband?

Yes, may be it is.
So I need to know can I flash only baseband from 4.1 ftf over 4.3? Because this problem is never exsisted in JB 4.1. :good:

My question exactly. Look at my post (up). My XSP is made for usa market and i am using it in Bangladesh. Maybe that is what causing the battery drain when i use WCDMA/GSM and WCDMA only. But in GSM only, battery life is fine. Not even a single percent battery drain over night. Very huge difference. Now i am downloading a generic indian .ftf to check if it is because of different intended market or not... I will let you know as soon as i am done checking...

I think you can do it as soon as the both rom(4.1 and 4.3) are intended for the same market as the one you are using right now... Because they both will have the same baseband i think. But then, it would make no sense to flash the same baseband. I am not sure though. I am not a developer. You better check with some expert before messing around with baseband....
Yeah, im using an european modded rom on a latinamerican country. Will try New baseband as soon as i have some spare time
