I have two Bionic phones, both are rooted with cyanogenmod. One pone has baseband CDMA_N_05.22.00R LTEDC_U_09.1D.00, the other phone has baseband CDMA_N_05.13.01R LTEDC_U_09.14.00. Is either one of these the latest/best radio? If so where do can I find these files to update the phone, if not what would you recommend and where can I find it. I've searched all over the place and can't find any radio images for the Bionic anywhere on the Internet....
Thanks
Ryan
You can find the latest radio files at:

Keep in mind that Bionic has a security scheme that prevents you from downgrading roms once you have upgraded.
I don't know if this security operates on radio files.
So there's a chance that once you flash the latest, you might not be able to go back to something older.

My baseband version is 4.06.00.12_7.
I bought a used Nexus one online. It had some kind of customized ROM on it. So I flashed it back to original ROM (2.1). However, I only flashed boot.img, system.img, recovery.img. There is one more radio.img I did not flash.
I then updated the system via OTA to 2.2.1. But I am not sure about the radio.img. Do I have to do anything about it? Right now the phone works fine so I don't want to risk anything.
Thanks.
Latest is 5.08. The results with it are mixed, so you can try it, and if you don't like it - flash the 4.06 back.
Officially 5.08 is only available outside the States... why, I don't know. IMO they must have created it for a reason though.
thanks. I think I'll just stick to what it is now.
I've looked at a guide on gizmoninja to take a VZW Tab to stock DJ11, then allow the new EC02 update to run, and then flash the Heimdall files for EC02. My question is why let the update run and then flash the EC02 files? Why not just flash the EC02 files? Is it because those Heimdall files are already rooted, is that the difference? I'd like to get to the EC02 update so I can use the Bluetooth capabilities. Or would a different/custom ROM be better?
As a background, my Tab was originally branded for US Cellular that I flashed to stock VZW DJ11. I then did a manual root. I haven't been able to get the update to run and I've flashed 2 different "stock" files.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
hmm, I have a rooted version of DJ11 installed presently, and I have no problem with Bluetooth transfers. As such, I don't think that you need EC02 in order to use it, unless I am missing something. Originally, I did install EC02 via the update, and was able to root it through superoneclick. I decided to revert back to DJ11 for the time being though, as I had installed a custom kernal and it was causing me to have a lot of force close issues.
As for rooting EC02, a lot of people have reported issues. There was some kind of bootloader change in that update that screwed things up. Perhaps that is why the guide suggests installing the update and then flashing a rooted rom.
I soft bricked my vzw tab yesterday. I was on ec02, but didn't know that the rotation fix file had to be unzipped. Did it twice, third time I just used the ec02 and flashed the new kernel after. Unzipped the fix this time! Haven't had a problem yet. Seems way more responsive. Since ec02 has all the files needed there is no reason to go backwards, it works without doing the dj11 steps.

Thanks!
Thanks for the input. I guess I'll take the plunge and just flash the EC02 files and see what happens....? I'll report back. BTW, Hammer, where is the rotation fix file that you mentioned? I hadn't seen any mention about a fix. Or maybe I just missed it in my quick glances!

I have a uscc tab flashed with the verizon stock rom, and the ec02 update errors at about %30. I think its because the baseband is still at dj29. I think I still have the uscc modem still loaded, because the verizon stock restore tut I followed did not have me flash a modem file. I could use either the verizon moden file and try to flash that, or if anyone has the files to restore ec02 to flash straight over. Can someone on a verizon tab tell me what their baseband is along with the corresponding build id?

Got it to work!
I finally took the plunge and just flashed the rooted EC02 files from gizmoninja and it worked perfectly! The Tab rebooted normally and I was on EC02. All my programs were still there and I was still rooted. I didn't have any issue with the screen reorienting when I turned it and it seems faster. I was also able to pair and use my "old" ThinkOutside/iGo folding bluetooth keyboard!
Here is the progression of device data:
Original:
Model SCH i800 NSU
Hardware version SCH-800.0.3
Firmware version 2.2
Baseband ver S:I800.0.3K.DJ29
Kernel 2.6.32.9
Build SCH-I800.DJ29
After flashing to stock DJ11 from tutorials here at XDA and rooting via a combination of SuperOneClick and manually via ADB:
Model SCH i800
Hardware version SCH-I800.0.3
Firmware version 2.2
Baseband ver S:I800.0.3K.DJ29
Kernel 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #3
Build SCH-I800.DJ11
After flashing the rooted EC02 files from gizmoninja:
Model SCH-i800
Hardware version SCH-I800.0.3
Firmware version 2.2
Baseband ver S:I800.0.3K.DJ29
Kernel 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #3
Build SCH-I800.EC02
As I said in the OP, I started with a Tab branded for US Cellular and now I have a Tab that looks just like a VZW one! BTW, I use my Tab WiFi only; no data plan or cellular to worry about.
Hope this helps!
As always when starting a thread here, I begin with: I was a longtime HTC guy,l and I dont yet get everything Samsung relaed.
My newest issue is what I know as "radio" on HTC devices. Am i correct in assuming that on recent Samsung devices, this equals the "Baseband" in system info? It is referred to as "phone" as well in several parts of the sysem, in *#1234# for example.
So I assume further, that, when flashing via Odin on the PC, this would be the "Phone" image, correct? And flashing via MobileODIN directly on the device, this would be the "Modem" image though, correct?
Is it also correct that Baseband/Phone/Modem and the OS/Kernel dont forcibly need to match? As in a KK1 OS should be matched with a KK1 Kernel while the BB/Modem/Phone still could be much older, KG7 for example, or vice versa it could be much more recent, say KL5 or so.
Any useful answers of course are highly appreciated.

Sorry for raising the dead, but I was wondering the same thing. I'm just starting out too and the terminology can be confusing.
I understand what a ROM & a Kernel do, but if I download and install a ROM will that change my Baseband/Modem, or are they stored somewhere else?

As a rule, every ROM you install will contain its own modem, but you don't have to keep it if you prefer another one. For instance, my phone is running a KL7 based ROM with LA3 modem flashed on it. Flashing new modem is very easy from CWM - just choose 'install zip file form SD card', browse to your new modem file and off you go.
I hope this helps.
Thanks, that does help. One last question, is the modem/baseband's purpose strictly for cell tower reception?
Newer and hopefully better modem will improve your cell reception, WiFi and packet data connection/speed.
My phone worked very good for 1 Year but recently it boots 80% of times when placing a call.
I have learned from the forums that the problem is the radio rom and I should flash a correct radio file.
I also find instructions how to flash an SBF rom in "[GUIDE] Flash SBF to Motorola Atrix 4G - xda-developers.htm"
but the files in that tread are inaccessible.
I also find other threads with unclear posts to flash radio.img, but also those files are inaccessible.
Can someone point me to the correct radio file and the correct method to flash it?
Thanks
Eli

Wrong device, this is the forum for the Xperia Z, you need to ask this in Atrix 4G forum
wonder why so many users who have different devices get's lost here on Xperia Z forum? lol already encountered 3 threads this is the 4th one.
I have a Bell i9000m, with Froyo (2.2) on it. I used superautoroot to get Root on it, which worked fine, but I do not know how the heck I can get TWRP and subsequently LineageOS or some other 4.4 or above ROM on it. I've looked everywhere, and all I can get is vague information.
Also, I've looked here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723596
And, it seems it's out of date/lot of dead URLs.
EDIT: Managed to get from Froyo to Gingerbread 2.3.3, but that's as far as I've gone.
Check your baseband version in settings, about phone then go to https://desktop.firmware.mobi/ to get CF-Auto-Root for the right baseband. After that you can flash the highest version of LineageOS for this phone LineageOS 14.1. MAKE SURE IT IS THE RIGHT MODEL NUMBER AND VARIANT!!!
